There of course are some exceptions but... a lot of them look like Digimon.

In fact all of Zygarde is a Digimon. Look at its forms and tell me that's not how Digimon work. Cute little blobby things that four forms later turn into big fancy spiky humanoid mother****ers.

It's been my opinion that legendaries since Gen 3 need to calm down. They just have too much to them.

As someone who loves mythology, I never really was too bothered by how many Legendaries there were. The thing is, there are many different gods and monsters within the different lore and myths that humans have thought up over the years, with a lot of them that manage to still have a presence on those who look back at them today despite us moving on to different regions and beliefs. Hell, a lot of those creatures are what monster franchises like Pokémon, Digimon, Monster Rancher, what have you owe for their inspiration since those mythologies lend ideas for so many new creatures to be created. So for Pokémon to have a decent amount of those type of creatures for themselves (and even then, they still don't make up a strong percentage of the entirety of Pokémon) didn't feel like they were overdoing it. The Legendaries just added more to the lore of the world that they want to make for Pokémon, and I enjoy seeing how each one adds to that.

Onix is basically a giant earthworm... even if they call it a snake. Tremors and Dune basically call similar giant ground dwelling long bodied legless critters "worms" too.

Mega Marowak

Design-wise, it gets more bone armor, similar to Fire Emblem Awakening's Berserker class. It has an ethereal purple glow around one of its eyes, as if channeling the spirit of its dead mother. It wields an absolutely massive bone club.

Ability-wise, it would get a new one: "Boneserker" or something. It'd basically just be Huge Power with a different name. This is to make up for the lack of it getting to hold a Thick Club.

Stat and type-wise, it'd become Ground-Ghost and have increased speed and defense, but lowered Special Defense.



I feel this would be Marowak's logical conclusion. Plus it's one of, if not my favorite, first generation Pokemon.

A. More spikes. Not too many to look ridiculous. . .but more of them. One super thick and powerful arm. Think the Charger from left for dead but keep the other arm normal size instead of tiny. Nidoking is the more powerful one of the two nidos anyway. (is it obvious I suck at this stuff?)
B. Type stays the same. Ground is my favorite type and it can't lose poison. Ability: Huge Power/Moxie/poison touch. I dont know which of these makes sense/is balanced
C. Focus on increased attack/special attack. then both defenses get smaller buffs.

Ability: Petrifying Gaze (New Ability; Opponent has a 50/50 chance of being too scared to move) (Can be changed if we're worried about balance)
Appearance: ....I'm not real creative here, but just imagine an Arbok with a bulkier body, a crown-like crest on its head (think SpaceGodzilla), aesthetic wings, maybe some black markings alongside its body (with those Gen 1. markings on its back), an outright demonic face pattern on its hood, longer fangs that drip venom, red sclera, yellow irises, that sort of thing.
I tried going for a basilisk-esque appearance.

It would look like a giant bright glowing orb of light with dark eyes hiding somewhere past its "corona". It would basically look like a mini sun. It would also have a fast moving planet-like "ring" orbiting it composed of "proto-Voltorbs". It's corona would be roughly three times the diameter of an Electrode. It would constantly appear to be in the process of exploding more or less.

It would have a new ability that behaved like Sturdy except that self destructions or one hit KOs would only do half damage of the Pokemon's total damage. And it wouldn't be a one time use, would always be active. It would retain the same type.

It would be faster yet with a bit more attack power. It's defenses would be a bit lower but it's ability would more than make up for this. In fact, powerful moves would generally be less effective at killing it since anything that would otherwise wipe it out would only do half damage. Couple that with a fast and powerful Pokemon that can repeat SDs and you have a true terror.
