Honestly, while I want to say that Transformed was better then the original, I'd honestly be lying. The original did a lot of things better imo, as it felt less generic and much better decisions I felt were made. (Bayonetta they could've just toned down, Miku was still popular enough to get second on the polls so the "Too obscure" excuse especially when compared to the rest of the roster just didn't work, and they overall just made the game feel really generic, less polished, and washed-out)

I liked transformed more. The only problem I'd say it had was the roster.
No Billy Hatcher made me sad

Although I did love playing as wreck it Ralph. Him and Danica Patrick, while odd additions, were are actually pretty funny imo and cool.

Nights is also awesome. The stages had really good concepts behind them and solid designs. I liked the missions and story to.

Really good game imo. Only thing I could complain about is the roster, and even then that's just Billy Hatcher.

Bayonneta, and Miku were popular requests but had reasons behind them not joining, which could easily be fixed in a sequel, as well as any other character that fans wanted.

Transformed vs All Stars is a toss up. Really like the roster of 1, and even though it's such a basic kart racing game that's almost a GOOD thing because it's so well done in that regard. Level variety was lacking bit choosing your own music was nice. But it really was basic as basic can go. But I really like how it let's you unlock characters and stages in the order YOU want, which is something that too many racing and party games lack. If I want something, I want to get it as soon as I can. Not having to do something specific... or worse, RANDOMIZED. MARIO KART 8. GIVING ME ROSALINA LAST WHEN SHE WAS THE FIRST ONE I WANTED.

Also, no playable NiGHTS.

...*ahem* On the other hand, Transformed is really different yet plenty familiar, and the planes and boats are super fun with great level variety, and Remixes. But the game has some REALLY weird and off collision detection at points, Danica Patrick, really obnoxious character unock conditions, Danica Patrick, Really lacking character selection, Danica Patrick, did I mention Danica Patrick? :V

Also, no playable Ristar. WHY DOES EACH GAME MAKE MY MODT WANTED CHARACTER A FLAG MAN.

I got a bunch of lovely amiibo for Christmas, among other things. ,,,, Chibi-Robo, Green Yarn Yoshi, and Blue Yarn Yoshi to be specific.

I adore those Yarn Yoshi amiibos. So adorable and wooly.

Transformed is the better game by far.

I don't care for being specific with the roster. That Smash mentality does not need to be near a SEGA Kart racer. They have most of the main reps you would want aside from Billy Hatcher, and they have loads of off the wall additions too. It has the better roster. They wanted to turn heads and they succeeded. That's a huge accomplishment for a Kart racer. Representation in the roster really isn't that important here either, the characters don't have different moves or anything.

Also the first game re-used assets for tracks a lot. There were three tracks set in Seaside Hill, for example.

And everything else about Transformed is pretty obviously better. More polish, better tracks, better items, more mechanics, etc. Some people prefer the boost system of the first game but overall Transformed is better.

Transformed is better than MK8 overall honestly.

I find it amusing how people accused Sakurai of being biased towards FE regarding Corrin's inclusion when he himself hesitated to include him due to the abundance of FE characters and it took negotiations with Nintendo and talks with development staff to convince him otherwise.

People truly are unaware of the realities of game development. No, Sakurai doesn't decide everythng about the game. There are other factors in play besides a director's whims.

Well, not like my ramblings will do anything to change people. I guess I'll be off.

Basically he said, "hey I want to include this guy, but I'm afraid of too many FE characters." Then his staff said, "Nah, he looks fun. People won't care" And Sakurai said, "k".

After consulting many times with Nintendo and looking at the upcoming release schedule, Fire Emblem Fates was in just the right spot. It’s already been released in Japan, but is yet to be released overseas, making it a prime candidate in terms of timing. I personally felt that having too many Fire Emblem characters was a problem, but after talking it over with the development staff and discussing logistics, I felt certain that I could make them a fun character.

It also doesn't change the fact that he didn't have to include a character for promotional reasons. He chose to make that "slot" and then in the end he chose Corrin to fill it. Like I stated in my Corrin Controversy article, I do feel that Sakurai boxed himself in with this decision and neglected the overall DLC picture.

If you are a fan of Corrin's inclusion then that's cool. I just think having ~30% of all DLC characters to be Fire Emblem is a bit unfair to non-FE fans.

i've grown to like corrin because he has 2 things i like, he uses the water element, my favorite element, and he's part dragon, my favorite mythical creature. also because of him now i'm considering buying fire emblem fates. however, i do agree that fire emblem has too much CHARACTER representation. like if anything either ike or lucina need to go in the next smash. if sakurai wasn't so sure about having a fire emblem character in the game, he could've chosen another series reperesentation like isaac from golden sun, or even king k rool, characters that people actually wanted. i still don't believe his word on the smash ballot. i still want to see the results. otherwise i believe he's either hiding something or straight out lying.
