I tried online Pokemon trading with Pokemon ORAS a few days ago and wow, it really is rollercoaster.

Either i get screwed over because of my internet beign trash or i try so hard to get a Poliwag and yet nobody has one apparently.

But i recently made a trade. I gave my Level 54 Wigglytuff in exchange of a level 70-ish Charizard with his effort values maxed out. Yeah.

EDIT: Actually im not sure if it was either a Cleffable or a Wigglytuff.

Here's what it boils down to really. If you think two rival companies who have never co-operated in the home console space collaborating definitively means nothing as far as future collaboration over a popular IP who has a storied history with both companies with an expressed willingness to collaborate from at least one of the parties, I don't know what to say. Even with the fact that Minecraft is a ***** of an IP with all its ports.

I'm not saying Banjo is like so much likelier now or that he's a guarantee, he's still very much an outside shot, but this certainly is a feather in his cap.

And implying that Minecraft is special because its brand image won't be tarnished by this seems to omit the fact that Banjo's brand among his demographic is still tied much more closely to Nintendo than Microsoft. It certainly wouldn't be hampered with his inclusion in Smash, and Microsoft would still make a hefty profit from it, even regardless of potential promotional ramifications. This just shows the two juggernauts are actually willing to share - when they certainly don't have to.

And prior to Minecraft coming to the Wii U, and prior to Cloud being in Smash, and prior to the ballot, and prior to the tweet, I would've said there'd be no way in hell Banjo will end up in Smash, but with all those things in tow...

It's nothing to shrug at.
I feel this would help Steve much more then it would help Banjo though.

Banjo feels like the 3rd party version of K.Rool to me.

Would he get the Smash scene hyped? Yes he would. Would he get the average Smash player hyped? Debateable.

For academic purposes linking to a Wiki just isn't reliable as it can be changed at any moment. Sites in general can, but Wikipedia can be more volatile...especially controversial topics. Therefore it's better to use Wikipedia sources (which you should check anyway).

Usually people who have a very vested interest will go and add their bias to articles which is something you need to be on the lookout. For example people on the Hill regularly edit congresspeople's Wiki. Being aware of author bias in general, is super important and something people just don't understand. Just because they are presenting it as information doesn't mean it it's actually accurate.

Once, I vandalized some pages on Wikipedia to see how long they would stay unchanged. It was about 3 hours of Cambodia's page saying there was killer elephants rampaging through the countryside. I still chuckle at the thought of a third Grader somewhere presenting information on Cambodia and talking about their elephant problem. The Japanese history pages I vandalized took months to revert.

I don't do that kind of stuff anymore, but it proves that you should always be asking for sources and citing.

Literally all of that is pure baseless conjecture.

It's not that it sounds unreasonable. But there is literally no way of proving any of this.

I'm honestly just gonna say that I don't think Minecraft changes the "chances" of any character in Smash. Microsoft are no more willing to put their characters into Smash than they were before. How willing were they to put their characters in Smash before? Neither you, or me, or anyone can say for absolute certain. We can only make guesses and pretend they are "educated".

At this point in time, Minecraft on Wii U is something to shrug at in relation to Smash.

Why do people act like, to be in, the character MUST hype the audience?

Tons of hype is bonus points. It's not gonna decide if a character gets in or not.

Wonder Trade is the best.

Trade a Magikarp and get a 6 IV Froakie.

Trade a Rayquaza and get Bidoof.

I think if Steve? was in Smash, today would have been the best time for them to reveal that.

"Minecraft is now coming to the Wii U

And BTW Steve? in Smash"

It'd make more sense to reveal both at once IMO

I feel like the thing is, we as a community a lot of times when it comes to character discussion don't recognize ourselves as the minority. To us, Banjo makes all the sense in the world, but he's a lot like K.Rool in the sense that he's kinda 'dead'. He hasn't done anything noteworthy since N&B, and he's really not fresh in the minds of gamers.

The same could be said of K.Rool, really. He's loved in the Smash community, but he's been dead in his own franchise for soo long that I question if the average gamer even recognizes him.

Without Smash, the average gamer would not know who Captain Falcon is. Average gamer doesn't know Shulk either.

I know one of his names is Steve? but it's so weird to use "?", you might just wanna drop it

Also, I would think the Direct dedicated to Smash is the best time to reveal Smash news.

Just about any character is going to hype the audience. That's why everyone gets so hyped for these Smash Directs and reveals, because we have no idea who's going to be in, and when we do, we get all hyped over a new character.

Oh thank god, I just discovered that XCX has a "Fashion" option for armor so your character doesn't have to look rediculous as all hell with mixed armor.
I looove this game.

And the hardcore Smash fans joked about Cloud ever coming to Smash, and well...

We shouldn't act like we know for certain what is and isn't possible.

You say that like Toad amiibos fly off of store shelves like crazy.

I blame on the idea that no one will be satisfied with the roster of their favorites aren't in. That's how it is. Well get balance patch updates every 6 months after DLC is finished and we still are gonna discuss about more Smash 4 FLC because it CAN'T end until my character is in the game and then when they aren't, ***** and moan on forums and social media and then months later ask someone in the Smash Wii U modding community to add them in the game.

And once the new game is announced, the cycle will begin anew
Unfortunately balance patch discussion isn't as entertaining as wishing for a million characters

They do but it's mostly the same old 'Nerf :4sheik::4zss::rosalina:, buff :4samus::4zelda::4mewtwo:' and Greninja memes but then they'll drop it saw we got nothing for news and we've been in a news drought.

Besides, majority of characters is just gonna be mid high tier

Ehhhhhhh, given the scope of the game * the HUGE files of current gen gaming, I don't think it's exactly BS per say.

People need to realize that jumping onto conclusions especially when it comes to game development isn't the brightest idea.

Presumed scope

Honestly, I expect it to be linear with just the important parts

Cut into their "Episodes" as they call it

We're seriously acting like Minecraft getting ported to the Wii U suddenly means Banjo and/or Steve will likely be coming to Smash? Like, we're back at the point where every announcement has to be connected to Smash in some way or another? Really?

Not everything Nintendo-related is tied to Smash. The fact that we're still having theories like this get cooked up this late in Smash 4 speculation is completely ridiculous. How many times has something like this ended up being correct? Never.

And for Pete's sake, please cut it out with the "Cloud's in Smash, so anything's possible!" nonsense. I really don't understand why Cloud is being treated like he was on Goku's tier of impossibility. He was definitely an unexpected surprise, but his biggest barrier was a rule that never actually existed and was just an assumption on the part of the fandom. Cloud Strife is not the property of Sony, he and Banjo are not comparable.

It's presumed but the developers knows better about the game's development way better than any of us would. For what we know, they probably could have already have the game being very large in file size and they may not be even halfway through with it.

Either way, calling them out on their BS for "not fitting enough on one disc" is way too much of a premature argument. Call them out on the episodic thing, but let's not act like we know what's going on internally.

To be fair, game companies don't mind lying. Even Nintendo was guilty of this iirc

I'm waiting until they explain how "episodic" the game is before passing judgement.

I would have preferred one whole game but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
