I wouldn't blame Cremia, I'd hug the hell out of him too since he's too damn adorable.

And I'm not surprised why we are in the subject of Fire Emblem's new fanservice direction. That's part of why the new audience was attracted (waifu jokes aside) along with the option of Casual Mode for those who weren't experts at SRPG's.

Sometimes, I feel like the only one who's excited for Genei Ibun Roku #FE. :(

Man I never heard of a girl that even excited for Genei Ibun Roku FE and like Senran Kagura.

Not even being sexist or even an asshole just shocked.

Can't blame you for being excited, it's a game with a unique gameplay and battle mechanics
I think the biggest thing is that people in general can accept fanservice if they are enjoying the work regardless.

It's like Star Wars has ridiculous stuff happen but people accept it because it's fun.

Same kind of thing really.
Most games I like have that fan service but it was in decent taste and I was enjoying the game.

Main examples are Persona 4 Golden, Metal Gear Rising (although it's mostly joking sense) and especially Bayonetta which were all done in decent taste.

Do people actually like seeing man bulges?
There's a reason people like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. :troll:

I have heard my straight and bi female friends and one gay male friend talk about them.

I even got a compliment about it.

Just wish it wasn't the guy...

That's pretty much what it boils down to for me.

Like, Bayonetta is a very "sexual" character, but she's portrayed as being comfortable with it and proud of it, and it gives her flair.

Similarly, I think it's fine to have characters who don't have sexual personalities, but still have amazing bodies, but they don't really dress in a way that draws too much attention to the fact they have those amazing bodies.

But if I'm playing a game that is otherwise serious and there is just this one character that is blatantly wearing impractical clothing or whatever then yeah it takes me out of it. Like Quiet from MGSV. Yeah I know they give her an "excuse" to wear revealing clothing, but that doesn't change the fact that Kojima did that in a poor attempt to justify what is otherwise, completely out of place fan service and that whole plot point is arbitrary anyway. Plus her entire character is designed for the player character and by extension, the player, to fall in love with her. She's waifu bait, nothing more. She even has a figure with squeezable bust. Like c'mon. It's beyond me why people defend her portrayal as "tasteful".
Exactly. The thing is that the excuse is really just made up entirely. It's only there for her to be dressed like that, no other reason. I'm the biggest perv here, but even I know when to call bull****.
I don't mind fan service at all

I mean, some of it is optional anyway

You a bikini costume for example.

If you don't want your immersion broken. don't use it
Well, the thing is, sometimes it's not optional..... It's just kind of there.... "Like am I suppose to take this scene seriously or do 'other things'" kind of way.
Do people actually like seeing man bulges?
Yes. Usually people aren't too vocal about it though, unlike me. :p

I mean, really, boobs are usually just always the talk. Whether it be praising them or complaining about them.

Anyway since I did mention Twilight Princess HD, what do people make of that?

I'm gonna pre-order the bundle soon if only for the Amiibo and soundtrack, and I guess I'll try to actually finish the game this time, but I find it very underwhelming as a graphical overhaul so far.

Especially since this mod for the Gamecube game, is very close to completion:

I'd wait to find out what they are.

Yes, I like man bulges but I like "huge" overdesigns in general. They just look really "warm", donno how to describe it. Like big scarves and oversized things.

I know but even ignoring that the fan project is doing gameplay improvements too, just the raw graphical fidelity increase this fan made version has is leagues above the official version, and is what I was expecting from the official version.

Never played the original but I am very interested in picking it up and playing it for the first time on my Wii U.

I can't believe the series is ending soon.
It's been only 2 seasons, yet at the same time it's been 4 years......
I feel reather sad about this, so have some Chrono Cross music (sorry Zoroarking, but i love this song even though i haven't played the game yet)

Yeah i know, im a slowpoke, but i have been busy with my life recently.

I will return either on November 30th or before the December broadcast.

That's the thing though.

No worries, I get this a lot when I talk with any social group in real life. A pretty strange girl who has some pretty strange taste in games and these tastes goes beyond the number of echidnas in Australia.

I agree, the battle mechanics and gameplay for Genei Ibun Roku #FE are fun. And I do love me some hot beach wear and J-Pop, which is a plus for this gem. Shame that many disappointment Megaten and Fire Emblem games fell the need to say that anyone excited for this game is a dirty weeb like the ones that "ruined" both fandoms. There's a reason why I avoid commenting on any GameXplain video about it.

People watch Jojo soooo
Not going to lie, that artist does a good job at making the characters look sexy and stylish. The Pillar Men and JoJos are the sexiest people in fiction if you ask me.

I highly doubt they will be. It's probably going to focus on addressing complaints the original game had, having natural GamePad improvements like having a map on the GamePad, etc. And whatever the Amiibo functionality is (which I'm sure will be cool but likely not mind blowing).

Keep in mind that Nintendo themselves is advertising it as a "remaster", which generally entails they won't add too much to it, since they want to retain the integrity of the original experience.

To me, fanservice as a whole is pointless. Apart from possibly sex sells, there's really nothing to gain from putting it in, and it's not the game is somehow better with it. It'd just be there for the sake of turning on the audience.

And yet more often than not that's the only thing going for some titles. It's like the companies think as long as you jingle those waifu-laden keys in front of the audience, you don't need quality. And the sad thing is it works. It has worked. And it most likely still will.

Now, don't get me wrong, there are games or shows out there that are heavy on the fanservice but still give something more to them like Kill La Kill. But even then it's a small minority compared to the fanservicy garbage that's the norm nowadays.

I kinda see the whole spin with both fans going at each other's throats. It when they lump the Persona fanbase with this is when I get upset because Dancing All Night was made so the game was for that fanbase when DAN is really only decent for the music and the graphics considering Rhythm games aren't even my thing.

Also I can't blame people finding JoJos attractive. Look at Joseph, he's pretty much a lady killer in both his young and older designs

There's people out there that do, I'm sure of it.

Fan service can be okay, when it's done properly. I don't think it's generally appropriate, but there's times where it's tasteful and actually adds to the story...but most of the time they tip the scale on too much fan service in favor of the narrative.

Eh... I disagree.

The reason it works is because its part of our desires and that's ultimately fine.

Fanservice is just a tool. Depends on how it's used.

I know that feel, love. Every time you even dare say something positive about that game, an angry SMT or Fire Emblem fanboy would be like "Hahahahaha this game is **** just like you, ****ing weeb." or things like "Your opinion is wrong, so enjoy your J-Pop pandering crapfest while it lasts". If these guys hate the game so much, then why don't they go drool at SMT IV: Final or Fates instead of spewing acid like a group of spitting cobras.

And may I remind them that PLENTY of Japanese video games had been guilty of anime tropes before. Even their precious *gasps* Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei games had some of them cliches within their system yet nobody bats an eye. Nekomata for example is obviously a sexy anime catgirl that you see in many anime despite being based on the mythological yokai. As for Fire Emblem, everyone here arguably spoken about the things those games contained.

Games, by their very nature, are a stimulative medium. They are meant to make you feel things one way or another, be it the simple thrills of just making a jump in a platformer, or through making you emotional in a story driven game. For most people, sexual activity or attractive characters is pretty god damn stimulating. They kinda fit like a glove together.

Gameplay related trailers had been posted on the official website since the early Fall. It's just that some journalists tend to ignore them and focus on publicizing the less informative character trailers instead (GameXplain being a big example).

On the bright side, there are weapon fusions and Class Changes while having that turn based Shin Megami Tensei combat with the Fire Emblem style weaknesses and strategy. So while this game isn't that ultimate serious crossover these fans dream for, they still show some love for the franchises they take inspiration from.

As a heterosexual male, I obviously don't mind some fanservice. We're all human, and it's part of our desires. With that said, I do have my limits. Fanservice is like the icing on the cake, it tastes great, but it can't be the only part.

This is so true in so many ways.
You should watch this.
It's a good video though I think most people already understand this message. Most sensible people anyway.

Personally, if I have too many bad experiences with a fandom, I just leave it and don't really go back. I will still acknowledge that there are "good fans" out there, but if I can't find them after enough time then I tend just keep my interest in the show/game/character/whatever, to myself.

This has sort of happened to me with the Smash fandom, both competitive and non-competitive (i.e, mainly the speculation community). I don't try to get near as involved as I used to, and I don't use this site as much.

Indeed. That's what happened with me and this fandom. Which is why I've been inactive for several months. I got pretty burned out and was just tired of going in circles and such. Which is why even now I don't talk too much smash compared as I used to.

fanservice and sexualizing can be good

I give my props to artist who enjoy doing it and not letting anyone change their mine

it helps in character design to
A majority female characters people enjoy would be boring if they didn't have eye candy as a part of their design

People like things that bring their attention

I mean a big part of why fanservice is so popular is that media doesn't care about ugly people.

It's true.

Think of an ugly person in fiction.

Now answer these questions.

Were they comic relief?
Were they a villain?
Was being ugly part of their main gimmick/character trait?

We just like to talk about/write/create about attractive people because well...

They're attractive.

Another good thing about a sexually attractive character, is that the attractive body can get people into the character at the start and then they go and actually play the game that character comes from and see that character is interesting and they genuinely like them. Or if it's not really a story driven game and is like, a fighting game, you might play the character casually because "lol they have a nice butt", but then you actually find that character really fun to play as and you start maining them.

It's honestly no different than characters with appealing aesthetic. I initially got into Sonic for no reason other than I was 2 years old and he was a spiky blue thing that was also kind of adorable and cutesy. Which is completely intentional, Sonic is one of the most objectively appealing character designs out there as you can feasibly market him as anything for the kids - cool, sleek and edgy for the boys, or cute, silly and awkward for the girls.

......You got me stumped there. I can't think of one ugly character that doesn't fall under one of those three categories. But yes, naturally we just like to use things that naturally appeal to us.

This is a really good point This actually tends to happen all the time. Heck, this is how I got into the character known as Ash Crimson. At first, I just thought he was cute, but then I grew to love his character and his gameplay.

If they were ugly it wouldn't be fan service

Let's be honest, I love Wario but he's one ugly guy and we don't care because he's awesome.
