It does feel quite odd how Kirby's Epic Yarn never got ANY kind of representation for Smash 3DS / Wii U, and it's a game that was released after Brawl too. The yarn characters are flat, much like with Mr. Game & Watch after all.

There's having games for babies and then there's having games a damn cat can play. Music is great but you don't even have to try in that game. Kirby games are known for being easy but it has that edge of having the sense of danger and the possibility of losing.

In Wario Land, you can't die but your focus is collecting items and the challenge is in the design of the stages. There's no point in beating Epic Yarn. The game doesn't suck but nobody cares about it anymore considering there's much better Kirby games out nowadays.

IMO the series has started going down since London.

London itself isn't bad from what I hear, it's actually really good, at least the Wii version. However, they started with the character restriction stuff in London 3DS. In that game, you couldn't even select what character you played as in an event, you were just given a random character of the available ones for that event. It also had a stripped down story mode compared to the one in Vancouver DS.

Then we got Sochi which was just lacking in content and didn't even have a portable version, and then we have Rio which just seems like a mess to me, even getting rid of Dream Events.

And the annoying thing is, it seems like another Ultra Smash situation. The gameplay has gotten more and more solid as the games go on, but the content is just getting more and more lacking, which kills it.

To be fair, the Gameboy stage is charming. but a Mass Attack stage would have been fun. Dedede Resort anyone?

We did have about 2 TD themes in Wii U, though. But other than that, a lot of the older Kirby games got remixes.

I do agree about the horrible 3DS stage, though. I mean, seriously. They could've taken, like, anything else, and it would've been waaay better.

I think the fact we don't have any Epic Yarn tracks is that the soundtrack doesn't really have any high-paced themes... At least, I can't think of any off the top of my head.
