My worst record is 1,201 without Charm and 1,603 with Charm.
RNGesus can be a demon sometimes.

I want to hatch a Shiny Froakie to send it to Alola, but your story diminished my motivation to pull a Masuda again lol.
That reminds me of a time I wanted to hatch a Pikachu with 3 egg moves, being Wish, Thunder Punch and Volt Tackle. I was breeding for an Adamant Pikachu and Im about 30 eggs in when I hatch a shiny Pichu. It was not the intended result, but I took it (It was Quirky:() and kept that bad boy. :pikachu:

Do you guys think it's possible that other games might be revealed at the Treehouse event at E3? From what I know the day is going to go on and on about Zelda so I thought there might be a possibility that something might be revealed there.

I was going to be fully back starting yesterday but my graphics card decided to die on me...hopefully I can get it back and running as soon as possible.

There's a summary of the next Famitsu Column running around, and it looks like it'll be a great read. Sakurai will apparently address some misconceptions about him and Smash.

Nintendo Everything translated someone else's summary of the column. So it's two removed from the source and there's high potential for errors. I'd suggest waiting for the full column to get leaked/ released and translated as translating a summary has led to (ironically) some misconceptions in the past (People merging the statements made about series not having a future and Ice Climbers paragraphs). Considering my pc situation, I'll do my best to find a solution to get it done properly ASAP.

Horde battles do not work very well if the Pokemon you're training does not have an attack that hits multiple targets.

Super Training is overall, the better way to EV train, as you can acquire training bags that you can give to your Pokemon to increase their EV gain, especially upon defeating a Balloon Bot.

Of course, each Pokemon utilizes a certain shot type, which can influence how well the Pokemon can handle each bot.

Regardless, as your Pokemon gains more EVs, it becomes more capable of handling the higher levels. And when combined with the Double-Up training bag, you could earn as much as 24 EVs for a specific stat after defeating a level 3 Balloon Bot.

It has already been confirmed that there will be event exclusive characters, and it appears that only the 20 characters who were playable in the last three games will be usable in every event.
So...2-3 minutes to get 12 EVs is better than Horde battles, which can net you 5-10 EVs every horde battle, which takes about half a minute. Keep in mind you can use Brace items and Pokerus to increase those EVs to the point where you get more than the maximum reward Super Training can get you, Pokerus doubles the EVs you gain and the Brace items grant you more EVs, which are also affected by Pokerus iirc. I think Smogon has a very easy to understand guide on Horde Training
In terms of figuring out your Pokemon's IVs though, Super Training is pretty much the only way to do it without leveling up your Pokemon.
How? I've never heard of that method, and even then, there's an NPC in Kiloude who outright tells you what the IVs are by saying "Attack is superior, nothing better" or something like that means perfect Attack IVs
EDIT: About your complaint regarding spread moves. It doesn't matter if the one in the lead is doing the KO-ing, EXP Share. Just use something like Tropius, it learns Fly, Sweet Scent, which ALWAYS trigger Horde Battles if available and it gets spread moves iirc

Ugh...

Weekdays suck, sometimes. You never ask to get up in the morning, but the commute just goes by in a flash.

Anyway...

it's funny how a tiny little owl can take over the internet in the course of one day.

Not even, actually. Either way, people were freaking FAST with all of this fanart that's coming out. Don't remember seeing anything like it.
Did this every happen before, though? The past few generations completely slip my mind...

EV Training with Horde Battles 101

Lv. 100:216:with Pickup (to get goodies while you train, Teddiursa may pick up leftovers at Lv. 100)
Sweet Scent (attracts hordes)
Earthquake (knock out all pokes)
Rock Slide (knock all floating pokes)
Brick Break (take out leftover pokes)

try to get Poke-rus on your pokemon...

give it the appropriate item that will boost whatever attribute you're training...

ALL of your party will receive an attribute boost if you have EXP Share on...as their EV's will increase when they recieve EXP (whether or not they were present in battle)
Although that works well, That moveset cost me a Shiny Shuppet in a horde. I had no way to hit the others without hitting the shiny.
I immediately replaced Brick Break for Theif after that battle.

Watched the Gamexplain SuMo analysis video, and there was something I wished to discuss about it. Particularly, the legendary theming.

It's my personal belief that the theme displayed is Courage (Sun) and Fear (Moon). In the live action trailer, our young boy is feeling down while doing his homework, seemingly having made no friends his first day, as the Moon was focused on. Later when he goes to the crowd to try and relate and make friends, the Sun is in focus.

Our lead fears being isolated/disliked, then shows the courage to change that. The Moon is tied often to darkness, which is something many humans fear, and it's the light breaking through that darkness that often gives us courage to explore and expand our surroundings.

Just my theory on the subject at any rate and what makes sense to me.

Whenever you're using an IV Calculator to find your Pokemon's IVs, a single level 1 Super Training round gives your Pokemon 4 EVs. For every 4 EVs gained, recheck the IV Calculator.

You may argue about this all you like, but a lot of my Y version EV training involved Super Training, as I utilized the IV Calculator and a text document to record my EV training status and IV ranges. And of course, Super Training enables me to stay at one place to EV train.

But...You can reliably use an IV Calculator which has 0 EVs as an option, and again, the guy in Kiloude will tell you if you have perfect IVs, I checked my Zygarde's stats with an IV calculator, no EVs, 3 perfect IVs. Kiloude guy said the same thing, and got the same IVs. This is bull****, as you don't need any EVs to IV calc, be it a fan made calculator, or the Kiloude guy. Whether or not you prefer Super Training is your opinion, but don't ****ing lie that it's better than Horde Training. Even then, if you need to Super Train to check IVs, which you don't, it just means you're wasting more time to check them, as flying to Kiloude and talking to the NPC in the pokemon center takes much less time than a single Super Training session

I'll never understand why people think that Super Training is useless, because that is pretty much the only way you can EV train "without" leveling up your Pokemon.

Anyway, I'm not going to argue about this matter any further, but I will just say that by using a mix between Super Training, the IV Calculator, and a text document, I've been able to compose the EV spreads that I want without having to resort to remembering the stuff mentally.

What's so bad about leveling them up then?

Basically, it involves figuring out your Pokemon's IVs if you're the kind of person who likes to keep track of numbers for the stats that you are EV training.

Of course, I really haven't raised any new Pokemon for over a year, so perhaps my training methods have become inferior throughout the months.

I wouldn't say it's useless, just a less efficient way to EV train as it takes longer...probably the best way to do it before post-game (I'm not sure why you're worried about IV's and EV's before you completed the game)

Anyway instead of using the IV calculator, just check with the Judge that you encounter post-game as he'll tell you the Pokemon's IV's...of course he doesn't give you the exact number but you can figure it out based on what he tells you...'Outstanding' 'Perfection' 'can't be beat' words and phrases like this are a good indicator the pokemon has perfect IV's on that specific stat...

It is recommended you check IV's before EV training because if the pokemon you were training has less than ideal IV's then you basically wasted your time with it...

Breeding can improve a Pokemon's IV's as a captured pokemon usually can only have 3 or 4 perfect IV's (more likely to get one with these IV's in the friend safari as other wild Pokes will have numbers all over the place and at best will have 1 maybe 2 perfect IV's), but when breeding improves the chances of getting a Pokemon with 5 Perfect IV's (you only need 5 instead of 6 since one of the Pokemon's stats will be lowered based on their nature and chances are that stat won't be taken into account, like if you're breeding a Jolly/Adamant Talonflame or something, you're most likely not going to care about it's special attack as Talonflame hits like a truck with it's physical attack)...it is possible to get Pokemon with 6 perfect IV's but there really isn't a point to that...

Not gonna lie... The more I see it, the more I'm worried this'll end up like Ultra Smash.
I pray not, but you never know.
A Press Release already confirmed this is another nothing game.

Has less characters than the 3DS version, but the new/unlockable characters are "Guest" characters, exclusive to 1 event.

Plus Events replace Dream Events.

Apparently it doesn't even have music remixes anymore.

Still very Mii-centric.

It's just Mario & Sonic: Ultra Smash.

But the Kiloude guy will outright say how good the IVs are with specific phrases, and again, IV calculators come in 0 EV versions, so it's ultimately unnecessary to do a round of super training first

Since you're forced to catch Xerneas and Yveltal in the main story, while three of their IVs may always be perfect, the other three IVs might not, and they can't breed either. At least at level 50, figuring out the other three IVs comes down to remembering the base stat values, and figuring out the nature that's being used.

Anyway, I already know all the breeding guidelines, since I've used them before while raising my bred Y version Pokemon. But I never did mess around with the stats judge.

Anyone thought of nicknames for the starters and mascots? Calling Litten Noodles as that's my cat's name, and Lunaala's gonna be Darkraider, because it looks like that mother ****ing motorcycle bat in KR

What's the character limit?

Cause "Nintendo Seal of Approval" sounds pretty nice for Popplio.

And "Trampoline of D00M" is a nice Lunaala name.
Or Darwing Duck

Man.

Can I say how much I hate frame-by-frame animation.

Especially when I have to draw with a mouse.

Sometimes it depends on what the designs of their final evolutions will be...

Some possible nicknames I may give them/whether obvious as **** or simply because I haven't thought of anything better yet...
Rowlet
-Hedwig
-Archimedes
-Gaebora
-Rauru

Litten
-Gena (My cat...RIP)
-Rajah
-Shere Khan

Popplio
<insert various stereotypical clown names>

I generally never name any legends I catch...they are supposed to be 'one of a kind' anyway and their actual names are usually fitting enough...

... Seriously? Having less characters than the 3DS version is questionable enough as is, but... the only new ones are exclusives to one event? That's just upsetting.

:094:
In the 3DS version, all veterans bar Mario and Sonic are exclusive to two events. The newcomers have 1 event, and there are 40+ characters total.

In the Wii U version, all veterans are playable in all events, but the newcomers are only in 1, and there are 30+ characters, including Toad, who isn't playable in the 3DS (I think Toad is playable in the Relay event on the Wii U).

It irks me because for a lot of these characters, making them playable in all events shouldn't be hard at all. Rosalina should be using the same rig as Peach and Daisy. Sticks, Espio, Jet, Wave, etc, should use the same rig as any other standard Sonic character (characters like Vector or the Deadly Six being non-standard). The Koopalings should have the same rig as Bowser Jr. And they could all share certain stock animations, with unique animations for things that might give an opportunity for those characters' distinct personality traits to shine.

It's just pure laziness or budget restrictions.

How did a game that got a 9/10 get this many dislikes? Because it wasn't a 10. Jesus, this has finally beaten 8.8 and console warriors are awful and petty babies

Speaking of Uncharted 4, my brother actually went and bought it today.

I'll play it sometime in the near future. Need to fix my PSN account. And still haven't even played The Last of Us.
