I'm assuming either loss of interest or a decline in popularity. And I wouldn't be surprised if it, Skylanders, and Amiibo being barraged all at once helped kill that market. How does something like Infinity even struggle?
Seems like the type of thing that would sell pretty well, especially with how popular amiibo's are.
Nintendo can save the amiibo, but they need the amiibo to have bigger impacts on their games besides getting daily items or some small skins. Mini Mario and Friends amiibo is a good start, but they need to incorporate more of their amiibo big time.I'm assuming either loss of interest or a decline in popularity. Whether the same will happen to the other two I have no idea.
I think it's vagueness in the marketing. I have little to no experience with TTL games but I knew what kind of game Skylanders was and why the TTL gimmick worked for it. Infinity, I couldn't tell you. In fact the PC version has no compatibility with the toys which raises more questions. As for the other two big ones, Lego Dimensions is a standard Lego game with a lot of licences crossing over and amiibo sells themselves on the potential for interactivity with multiple games. How does something like Infinity even struggle?

Let's hope they learn from the negative reception that AC: amiibo party got and don't just use amiibo to try and sell games by themselves. If it was a free game that you simply needed amiibo to play, it may have worked, as it is, it's a party game that's a chore to play.Nintendo can save the amiibo, but they need the amiibo to have bigger impacts on their games besides getting daily items or some small skins. I think the Ash-Greninja is an anime exclusive form. As for Zygarde's other forms, they might have their chance to shine in the 7th generation. While that Sun & Moons hype is happening...
When the heck are we going to get news on Ash-Greninja and the new Zygarde forms in the core games?
Well, I think people just look at DI figures and go, "Oh, that's neat" but they really would rather only have the movies because let's keep it real, here, not many people both like Disney and video games at the same time. Plus, considering how they keep making games and you can't really use your playsets from the other games in the more recent ones kinda just gives it a lack of content. And there was no real purpose in DI. I mean, yeah, you can make your own stuff, and that's cool, but you don't get the same kind of simplicity you'd find in Mario Maker. Overall Disney Infinity is really complicated on Level Building, the limitations the game put you on pushed away potential buyers, and again, the figures are really best used for eye candy, honestly. I dunno, that could just be me.I think it's vagueness in the marketing. Edit your posts! You pulled a double post!Let's hope they learn from the negative reception that AC: amiibo party got and don't just use amiibo to try and sell games by themselves. Man, Gen 7 isn't even really here yet.speaking of pokemon you know what id like to see in gens 8 and 9? no old pokemon...hear me out now
how this would work is that after you beat gen 10's story you get the national dex and after you go through the post game you get the newly implemented Global Dex
i know this wont happen but man it would be rad if it did
They did it gen 5speaking of pokemon you know what id like to see in gens 8 and 9? no old pokemon...hear me out now

To be very fair, Disney Infinity is a money hog with the figurine requirements. Games that require you to buy figurines to play aren't exactly a good thing to be getting, because it can take one heck of a toll on your wallet.I remember hearing Disney Infinity was struggling.
Guess it got to the point were they had to end it.
In theory you didn't "need" more than one figure for most things. The core of the game was the toy box building, which you only really need one for. It's the only mandatory aspect. To be very fair, Disney Infinity is a money hog with the figurine requirements. At least with the amiibo, it's not like you "need" to use them in most games, as they simply just offer bonus contents, with some of the contents actually being unlockable by other methods; an example being Star Fox Zero, where the Fox and Falco amiibo are not necessarily needed to unlock the Retro Arwing and Black Arwing.
Just because X and Y didn't get a third complementary version doesn't mean Sun and Moon won't.As for Zygarde's other forms, they might have their chance to shine in the 7th generation.
I think just DI.Does that include all Disney games (DAC and DMW) or just DI?
The amusing part of the story is that pretty much all of the amiibo that were made for Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival are also usable in Super Mario Maker. That could save you some trouble with the 100 Mario Challenge, but other than that, the Animal Crossing amiibo are very impractical to even be purchasing if you don't own amiibo Festival.Anyways, the biggest problem with Amiibo Festival is that its main purpose was just to be an excuse to make Animal Crossing amiibo. There was no real intention to make a game for them, but since the developer (I forget their name) wanted the amiibo, they needed to make a game for it. So in this case, RIP game quality.
Much like you, I never did bother with Skylanders and Disney Infinity. Sure I own a few amiibo, but it's not like their usage is mandatory for most games.I never cared for Infinity, so the cancellation of it doesn't really bother me as much as it kinda surprises me. It will be pretty wierd going into a store like GameStop or Best Buy and not seeing the walls lines with characters.
300.Think of all the jobs that just went out with infinity.
That's depressing in itself.
And just as I was getting back into collecting it.
I think that simple designs can still work. I’d wait to see how each mon is designed before commenting on it. Simple could probably be pulled off but we need to wait and see how it’s done in full before viewing what it is and means.I'm not really sure how I feel about the pokemon being simpler.
I could potentially see the pokemon turning out less interesting
It's the motto of EA:EA just said in their earnings call a new Star Wars Battlefront is coming out next year.
They're gonna turn this into a yearly franchise, are they?
Wow. I'm shocked. Guess I can kiss 4.0 debuting a Kingdom Hearts playset goodbye.Disney Infinity just died.
Disney cancels struggling Infinity video game line. Takes $147 million charge. End of Disney as video game publisher.

Just like Activision with Call of Duty and look where they are now. Infinite Warfare is the Federation Force of Call of Duty, making fans aware that they truly jumped the shark. It's the motto of EA:
Milk it until it's dry, and still continue to milk it.
