Don't get me wrong, there are ways that the reporter's humanity can shine through. That doesn't require them to interject their own opinions though.

It's just the way I view things, mainly since that's the first thing we're taught when we start taking classes in journalism, as a print journalism major myself.

I suppose it's just a difference in viewpoints then. My degree was more focused on film and documentary, so I personally think it's impossible to completely separate one's humanity from one's opinion.

Even things as simple as camera placement and editing a documentary of all things are not purely objective and unopinionated acts because we're choosing what's important to show and when to show it. It's the same for writing imo; I'm sure there are other facts that reporters know, but feel are not necessary to a piece of news. You all also choose the order that things should be told in order to "best" portray facts, but I guarantee that there's reporters who write about the same event but do so differently.

The moment we enter into this world we have a viewpoint/entry point we cant change and opinions that we cant escape from. It's just a matter of how much those opinions affect what we do. It's why I believe people, specifically reporters, can state the facts as well as their opinion: calling something bad, or wrong, or sickening.....

It just needs to be done in the right way imo.

Very simple reason for that, Miiverse targets younger audiences and they're the sort who talk big because they want to be seen as mature, ironically becoming the opposite.

But I'm not everyone. Cloud Strife being implied to be a ballot "winner" picked primarily for Japanese fans leads me to believe that an American ballot "winner" will be unveiled in December, and who else but Shovel Knight?

I don't think he's infallible, but I trust his insight and my own to believe this wholeheartedly.

Cloud was never implied to be anything besides a "difficult request". We don't even know if he's ballot or not. Cloud is a famous icon from a big, long-running series and has popularity in the west as well. A random year-old indie character like Shovel Knight being his western counterpart makes no sense whatsoever.

And PushDustIn doesn't really know more than we do when it comes to stuff like this. He's just speculating like everyone else.

This is true. Things aren't always as I think they seem, I know.
However, I'd still like it if there was no such thing as the possibility of propaganda. Alas, it can't be done. At least, not in any just way. D:

It's called being socially insensitive. Sometime you gotta read the mood dude. Just because something is true doesnt make it helpful and it doesnt mean it needs to be said. Of course there are worse things, but those worse things aren't happening now and bringing them up while people are still reeling from this is pretty insensitive.

I also think he won't get an English voice, given how the trailer didn't have English voice acting for the Western versions, being handled similar to Roy, with Japanese VO with subs.

All other dual language characters (i.e. that have Japanese and English voices depending on the version) all had their trailers in Japanese for Japanese audiences and in English for non-Japanese audiences.
