At this point, I'm almost okay with any character. Smash 4 broke barriers upon barriers in regards to character selection. Far more than any previous iteration, the only thing coming close being third parties in Smash, who already were considered in Melee anyway.

With all the info we know today, we know that a lot of what we thought about Sakurai was false. The fanbase was plagued by fan-made rules.

And this IS a very good thing. It allows characters to be discussed from other points of view and all the barriers we put on ourselves are broken. Dreams can become true.

Anyway, lame jokes aside, the tone does play a very important role in how we state opinions.

Stuff like "Smash 4 is awful" or "X character is trash" is going to trigger more people than "I dislike X because Y". It's all about civility and putting logic above emotions.

And yes, I do sound a bit cold here, but I do value rationality a lot. It's humanity's greatest strength, I believe.

It's exactly what I was arguing.

We gave a lot less credit to Sakurai than we should have. There is a lesson to all of this. A very positive one.

Characters discussion can benefit a lot from this information.

This said, I do think K. Rool's popularity is overstated and people think he's bigger than he actually is, but that shouldn't be seen as a bad thing anymore. If Sakurai ever considers him and thinks he could be interesting, he will be in the roster. That's all it takes from now on.

In the end, it goes to show that Sakurai does in fact listen to the fans (As if the likes of Megaman, Sonic, Pit, Villager, Cloud, Bayonetta etc etc didn't show this already....) so you should just go ahead and support the character you want to see in Smash despite how "unlikely" you or others feel about them.

If he sees the demand for a given character, chances are he will most likely consider them at the very least.
