Basically, it's as Irene said, they didn't program the game to accept any new content. IIRC, the thing with patches is that it alters and builds upon existing data, so it doesn't add anything new to the game that has to be considered. Entirely new content on the other hand isn't supported because the games weren't designed to support future content like that. There's no placeholder data for them to add it in with, so adding even something like a new move wouldn't work since the game doesn't have the ability to have it placed into the data and used as a result. So XY and ORAS are in a position where they can't be updated with new content, which means that if you want those new Megas or the like, you have to buy the next game, you can't expect them to patch up the one(s) you have and get them through trades or something.

So, in Smash, if you use Corrin's Dragon Lunge and press A after activating it, you'll instantly pin yourself to the ground
This ends up being very useful so you don't have to time it properly

Fair enough.

I often skip ahead and write chapters that I am not up to. The story telling is linear, but the writing doesn't have to be. Writing Chapter 2 might help you figure out what needs to be said in Chapter 1.

Let me know how you go, I'd be interested in having a look at it, if that's something you'd be comfortable with down the track.

• Cut Anna
• Added Roy
• Cut Lucina
• Added Anna
• Cut Dark Pit
• Added King K Rool - since I realized I barely have any male newcomers.
• Replaced Impa with Ghirahim as I like his moveset more, plus some of it is already in the game.
• Decreased the amount of KI characters so people stop complaining
• FE same number as currently in Smash4.
• Added Alt Costumes
• Twili Midna is a stretch I know BUT if the moveset is Midna + Wolf Link for some attacks so she isn't constantly riding him could work imo. If final Smash is her transforming to Twili Midna to use a super attack, using the alt the Transforming bit would just be for aesthetics to appear as if Twili Midna is powered up even more tho it doesn't change anything.

You know what? I think I'm done with my rosters for a good while. At least for more big updates/changes.

It's rare that the man interacts with his fanbase at all or even answers questions from the fans directly. This could be our chance to uncover heavy duty information we have never seen out in the wild and have many unanswered questions be finally answered.

This is extremely huge and I feel could lead to a lot of cool things being uncovered. This is why this could be extremely important. The fact that we can ask the big guy directly is a dream come true lol.
