That isn't the point. It's too easy to lose. It takes way too long to get enough for a single TM.

It's more interactive than the old one, but still has issues. As long as you can't buy coins, it becomes a very tedious grind instead. It's poor design.
I think you might be right. I can't remember, although I do remember playing the mini game a lot more than I played the casino games back in the day. I never ONCE gambled because I always got unlucky in slots. (Technically I probably did the slots up to that point to figure out I sucked at them)

You really can't just buy all the coins you want? That kind of sucks.

Edit: I still found Voltorb flip fun though

All I'm gonna say is I'll be the first to download Crystal if it drops on the eshop!

Then it's off to the Ice Path once again to find the best pokemon! :215:

So I just took a look at some of the English dialogue in pictures with comparisons to the Japanese translations. And IMO the writing is just childish. It's like someone at 4kids or some 13 year old kid getting references from KnowYourMeme, reddit, tumblr wrote it.

From my point of of view it seems Nintendo America is going through their equivalent of Disney's Quack Pack era right now.

When I lost internet for about a week I was so bored that I got a Porygon off of Voltorb Flip.
It is nothing more than a grind.
Exactly. Again, better than the old one due to not being able to lose coins, but that's not saying much. I don't mind grinding when it comes to training Pokemon, but this isn't actually fun after a while. Pokemon's battle system is definitely archaic, though. I don't mind it whatsoever, but seeing it evolve would be neat.

I wasn't arguing Voltorb Flip wasn't fun. It is. It's way better than the gambling machines(I honestly enjoy the game, but I don't like overplaying any game too much). But yeah, the only way you're going to get that many coins is a cheat device or grind. Period.

Voltorb Flip doesn't take away coins if you lose, at least. The game itself is great design, the fact it takes that long to get, well, anything, is not good design. That's what I mean.

Guys.

...

It's official.

Pokémon Colosseum will be remastered in 3D for the Nintendo 3DS, with upscaled graphics and Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card compatibility.

Did you fall for this?

I'd be interested in knowing which Gen people here started with. I can understand why R/B/Y/G might seem kinda **** if you didn't grow up with it.

It'd probably make me feel old though. -_-;

Pokemon Pinball was my first Pokemon game overall.

But my first main series game was Silver, so there :p

I did borrow Yellow from a friend and got Red for myself later on, I did enjoy them back then. Come to think of it, Ruby was the first Pokemon game I didn't enjoy very much on the first time.

I started with R/B/Y. Never played the Japanese versions. Or any betas of them via less than legal methods. Closest to "non-legal" in cheat devices. XD Anyway, the first set of games are definitely broken in many ways. But they're still great fun in itself. I feel that's the most important part, having fun. Yeah, they got problems. I still enjoy 'em to this day even so.

Blue is the version I picked as a kid because I love the Squirtle family. I even traded my Charmeleon for a Squirtle card (probably the worst trade I've ever done).

Oh no! Autocorrect...!

I wonder if they are going to have a surfing pikachu distributed for these gameboy games

I mean, yellow has a mini game that can't be played without him

Here's my reasoning for my ranking between the "competing" versions.

Blue is better than Red because if we're talking cover Pokemon; Charizard is HORRIBLY crippled by Gen 1. Stupid back sprites, a bad movepool, and fire being a weak type (outside of the BS of Fire Spin).... also I started with it.

Silver trumps Gold because Lugia has a better play-up than Ho-oh. Going through the Whirlpool Island dungeons does far better than going up a bunch of stairs in Ho-oh's tower.

Sapphire beats Ruby because too much of the game banks on the usage of the seas. Emerald does it best.

Pearl is better because Palkia better applies to Team Galactic's plan than Dialga imo because of it being most similar to Giratina in powers. Dialga surely is more potent in theory but it didn't fit the story as well to me.

Black trumps White because Iris is a very underwhelming final gym leader and Opelucid city in general plays better to it imo.

Y beats X because using a god of DEATH makes more sense for a Doomsday Machine than a god of LIFE.

They added trading between VC games alone. I very much hope so. Also, Mew distribution for it, or even allow it to be compatible with Pokemon Bank.

While I watched the anime since it first came out, my first Pokemon main series game was Pokemon Ruby (the title for first Pokemon game I played overall was Pokemon Pinball RS). I have so many nostalgic memories of that game; I enjoyed exploring Hoenn, and I loved all the new Pokemon designs at the time. I remember it was around Pokemon's 10th anniversary, a.k.a. when Pokemon was still in its 3rd generation, when I really started to be the Pokemon fan I am today because all the exciting things going on that year. My only first hand exposure to the first generation games was with FireRed, and while I did enjoy it, I found myself liking the Hoenn games more.

Not as old as me...:p

Blue was the first game I played back in Pokemon's hayday...Though I have more fonder memories with Gen II's Crystal version...since I kinda ruined my Gen I experience after the discovery of the Missingno glitch...I abused the **** outta that....lol

I have bought every main Handheld game so far. And every version of Stadium and its remakes. I did not by XD: Gale of Darkness, but it's not a literal Stadium-type game anyway. It's a unique rpg instead.

Sadly many of my games went missing. Worst was one of my Gen V games. I don't worry too much about my Gameboy/Color/Advance ones, mostly cause they're outdated. I play Red here and there for fun, but it's usually with Monster Brain due to it being impossible to catch them all.

Oh wow, I thought he meant Charmeleon too.

Now I feel bad for that chameleon who is probably dead by now.

New thread title: 'Swamp got traded for a Bidoof by Push' or something
Swampasaur is technically a lizard. So... he would be traded for a playing card to match this scenario. It has to be a good one, though. Swampy is worth a lot, after all. :p

Seriously, even when SuperMii replied to me saying "The animal chameleon"

I was like "What the hell you talking about, Charmeleon's aren't real animals. Do you mean the one in game?"

I'm watching a stream of "Undertale Origins"

It kind of looks like Earthbound if you ask me...
