Toby has stated he probably wouldn't do a direct sequel to the game, although I can't really blame him for that. He's outright stated he's aware this would be game wouldn't be as successful as Undertale.

Oh yeah, the stupid things only end one of two predictable ways.Either the tournament is the climax for the important thing the world revolves around (card games, monster battles) or it's interupted by the actual plot half way through and two characters fight in an empty/collapsing arena.

My problem is that the Undertale fanbase won't ever ****ing shut up. EVERY fan is all 'OMG PLEE UNDERTRASH IT'S THE BEEEEEST GAEM EVURRRRR' and as someone who disliked almost everything the game had to offer, I'm tired of it. It's the gaming equivalent of Kim Kardashian, everywhere, yet I don't give a **** but it's everywhere, meaning I have to see it all the ****ing time. With everyone hyping it up, I was led to disappointment. THAT'S why I'm absolutely sick of Undertale being the conversation here. It was suggested PLATINUM ****ING STUDIOS of all people work on Undertale, so quite frankly, I've had enough

Anna, calm down, everything is going to be alright.

Just try your hardest to avoid it at all costs if you really dislike it that much, it's what I did with a movie I didn't like once.

Something I've been thinking. Looking at the roster, there are 6 3rd-Party characters in a roster of 58 characters. Altogether, including Brawl, 7 3rd-Party characters have made an appearance in Smash. And not just that, but these characters are characters that people have just wanted to see fight against their favorite Nintendo All-Stars. And some of them are characters that many thought could never be possible, yet it was made possible by a man with a love for video games.

Do you think at this point, Smash has matured from a game about duking it out with your favorite Nintendo All-stars to a game where everybody gets to release their inner child with their favorite gaming All-stars of many gaming eras? After just how many boundaries were broken for this title, how do you think this might affect future titles? No doubt that Smash to a sense would still be mostly about Nintendo characters, but how would you feel about more 3rd-parties and more boundaries being broken?

On one hand, I think many of the remaining boundaries are related to a lack of compatibility between first party companies and are probably best left unbroken. A third party from a company that is making games for other consoles is an olive branch, but unless Nintendo is flat out getting bought out by Microsoft or Sony or one of the latter two companies decides to dissolve their gaming division and scatter the IPs to the wind I don't really see that turning out well.

Then there's the boundary of not allowing non-video game characters in, which just feels kind of uncomfortable to think about as at that point you've expanded the scope too far. Danica Patrick and Wreck-It-Ralph don't feel the most natural in Sonic And All-Stars Racing Transformed, and I feel I would be even more taken out of the experience if something similar happened to Smash.

Plus, in both of these cases the licensing would likely be far more obnoxious than going for a video game character available with their current criteria.

On the other hand, there's still ONE boundary within easy reach that my most wanted is still stuck behind, so I can't say I don't want to see ANY boundaries broken. I just think they should chip away at the list of fan neuroses rather than just going for what would cause the biggest spectacle

i've figured that it was probably because the gamecube controller's shoulder buttons are analog, while the gamepad and pro controller's are digital
and in sunshine, the input on the shoulders determines fludd's water pressure and it's pretty important

So... development has fully ended on the game. I wonder what that means for the validity of the Smash NX rumor if we are even to believe that.

Anyways, I'm glad Sakurai can take a nice vacation from the game and we can finally put speculation to rest. Anyone have any good memories from when the game was just revealed? It feels like it was only just yesterday...

The very first trailer at E3 2013 when I first saw the flaming Smash logo.

It was set up really nice as it hinted towards being Smash but then it just looked like a trailer for a new Animal Crossing trailer before zooming on the invitation letter with the Smash logo.

Robin's trailer was also great. Cloud and Bayonetta's additions were just mind-blowing and still kind of hard to believe.

The pictures of the day were neat and reminded me of the old Dojo!! days back from Brawl speculation, which I also have fond memories of, even after all these years. Thinking about it, the first Brawl trailer will be 10 years old this year. Time really flies.

I have faith in Toby's talent, though. And considering how much Undertale judges you and makes you feel for committing certain actions, as well as the fact that it's made clear the world is technically controlled by us in that it can be reset at any time, and we choose whether or not we want to attempt to save everyone or kill them on sight, a couple tragic endings wouldn't exactly be out of place. The whole game is basically one massive commentary on the concept of video games itself as well as tropes revolving around monster-filled worlds in gaming as we're used to them.

And for a new third-party company, I considered Level-5...
However I didn't want to over-do the amount of third-parties, as eight is a big amount, so I ultimately decided against it...

I mean, he didn't deny he was Aladdin, but he didn't tell her that he was actually a street rat. And considering all Jafar was saying that Ali was not who he seems and is really Aladdin and yet Jasmine technically already knew that, I don't see why it should've been a shock to Jasmine. What games do you want to see Nintendo make this year?

Quest 64 HD, with both the true complete version(what they intended to do back then, or at least an updated version of the Japanese version) and the classic older version(at the very least, make signs readable in the games. They're only readable in the gameboy remake and in the Japanese port. WTF?)

Or a compilation of every single game on one disc. Japanese version, regular Quest 64 with a language option, Quest RPG: Brian's Journey(with Japanese and US languages), and Quest Fantasy Challenge(with the European language option).

They'd have to actually buy the full rights to the series to do this, as a compilation with only released games in total(no language options, but choosing which version to play specifically instead) is all they can legally do at best. They can sell the game freely due to the copyright being up. The trademark is not, meaning they can't actually do anything they want with the series. Including remaking it, etc. Fanhacks are fine if they don't make money off of it.
