I loved that show. I can't remember nearly any of it but I jsut remember I loved it so much because of all the Disney characters it had. I miss the old Disney cartoons.
This is pretty much my exact situation with the show! I to miss the old ones. The only good cartoons now are gravity falls and yonder over yonder, and star vs the forces of evil imo
I loved it for many years. Was one of my favorite cartoons at the time, and I still kinda miss it, especially since Disney Channel focuses so much on live-action sitcoms nowadays rather than the company's roots in animation.
The modern Mickey shorts they make for Disney Channel are pretty darn good though.

One issue is if they did remake it, will the remake turn people off from its original charm, or will it help more?
It's a difficult thing to do. Especially for games that did poorly originally. I think the Gameboy remake showed what they really should do, which is not destroy the core gameplay, but make it overall better and more balanced, make the story worthwhile, and balance the item system.
I'm not against the idea of party members, but it focused on you being the only playable character, which works well with the gameplay. If your party members were A.I. controlled, as shown by the games' own craptastic A.I., you'd actually lose more than win at this point. But more dynamic A.I. is certainly possible.
So who knows. I'd love a remake to try out the multiple party member idea, but maybe make them more like disposable allies you can revive later. Basically what Shining Force is. I don't mean this in a bad way, either, but having monsters on your team that could grow(think Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World) work a little better. They'd obviously be a bit stronger than a basic monster, or at least would grow with their old stats being Level 1, or something to balance out how it works. You start with 50 HP, after all, so your partners should be fairly strong.
I've had ideas of how to incorporate it, including a hack of Golden Sun. Basically, you could combine spells similar to how you do Summons. Each character uses 1 MP for a proper element, and does a normal Spell(say Wind Cutter 3, which requires 3 MP, based upon the Wind element, in total), but it's a bit stronger due to multiple characters using it, instead of a single person. This would make having a team better, but would also mean they lose their own MP, so it could be more strategic.
That is a big question. That is the risk with remaking it or any game. However it's one worth taking, as you never know if it will succeed unless you try. As for your way of for changing it up, it could probably work. It would be tough to find ways to sell to a modern audience imo though. I wouldn't be against them trying though.
So, on the topic of tropes
The one I really din't like is What Happened To The Mouse?
Obviously, everyone would expect some sort of conclusion in a story
But then, sometimes, the writers either completely forget about a character or, in a game, you don't got the requirements for a sidequest or something and it seems as if the character simply vanished from existence
The FE GBA games seem to like this trope with their "alternate routes" thingy
So in my opinion there are indeed 3 lock-ins for Smash 5, if it's console only.
Alph, Chorus Kids, and Ice Climbers.
They were all planned to be in, and one made it in as an alt. Alph is an alt for Olimar, IC's were completed on Wii U, and Chorus Kids got far in development and were indeed going to be in as Gematsu showed.
I don't see any reason why they wouldn't make the cut for Smash 5. The only thing that got them cut were time limits and hardware limitations, and with Smash 5 on a console, then 2 of the 3 would not have to be worried about and Alph would have things to build off of.
So yeah, those are the 3 I see most likely for Smash 5.
Fandom is almost entirely the reason that characters can end up getting flanderized. Characters like Cloud and to a lesser extent Shadow are prime examples of that. It's extremely irritating that characters who have a lot of things going for them end up being one trick ponies because only one thing really resonated with people. Sonic is a good example, like you said. I really miss, like, Black Knight style Sonic. I feel that's the most well-written he's ever been. "I just gotta do what I gotta do. That's all." That line always gives me shivers.
Now that I actually understand Rosalina as much as I do, I'm glad Nintendo is sticking with that rather than caving to the supposed expectation she set on a surface level in Galaxy. Part of why I love her, she has a lot going for her AND they aren't afraid to make it known.
And yeah, pretty much mirrored what you said in the spoiler. Can't count how many times I over react to something due to something else entirely different. I like to compliment myself for being abe to step out, take a breath and realize how much of a dunce I'm being, but I wish it wasn't so frequent and I could be more wary of it prior.
It's just a matter of accepting that, sometimes, you aren't in the right. Or at the very least, that the situation isn't as simple as you like to think it is and you're going about it the wrong way. The moment humanity can realize that each person really is unique, from personality to tastes, the better off we'll be. I'll just stop here because I think I'm getting too deep. :V
Black Knight Sonic is the best Sonic, definitely. So many good moments and lines.
And honestly I think Rosalina has been flanderised before. Mario Party 10 kinda did. She's a bit too chirpy there, gets over-excited over nothing. And her being scared of Bowser doesn't look right. But I don't take it too seriously. The game was designed to over-glorify Bowser for comedy, and make other characters look worse, and it's a party game with no context. It's not a serious case and I can forgive it. At least she sounds cute there, I guess.

Arrogance is an inherent part of Sonic's character, but the cases I mentioned did flanderise it.
The best example in Archie Comics would be:
I don't know the full context so one or two things may be a little unclear, but there is an infamous scene where Sonic is in conflict with Tails' father, Amadeus. Sonic is (going against his own character) helping King Elias keep some revolutionaries in prison, including Amadeus. Amadeus questions Sonic's actions, asking what Tails would think of him.
What I know I'm not misinterpreting though, is Sonic's response, particularly one part of it (I can't find the exact page so this is as best as I can do):
"That kid? Please, he worships me."
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
SONIC WOULD NEVER SAY THAT
And the only reason they did this was to force a conflict between Sonic and Tails by means of forcing them to opposite sides of a civil war.
Sonic is arrogant and a bit over confident in his abilities at times, but he's NOT supposed to be a sociopathic egomaniac who thinks his best friend is his disciple.
That is a big question. That is the risk with remaking it or any game. However it's one worth taking, as you never know if it will succeed unless you try. Thanks. It seems to have become a cult classic lately, but on a very low scale. Not counting myself, it's had Smash requests too. Of course, I clearly am aware why it has no chance in hell(due to being a dead 3rd party franchise with low popularity).
Anyway, I think people might like that more. Especially if it's based upon the Japanese version engine. I think I have a blog on here that explains some of the JP differences. I'll list them to make it easier;
-Readable Signs. This is not forgivable in the original US version. Like, seriously?
-Having Max elements increases your projectile counts during appropriate attacks. Like Wind Cutter 2 normally has 3, but will gain quite a few more.
-When an attribute goes up, your character gets a colored aura(appropriate to the elements they're connected to. Fire = HP, Water = Magic, Earth = Defense, Wind = Agility. Fitting too)
-Normally you cannot gain any item drops if you have any item. Now your limit is 3 instead of 1.
-Critical hits. They do not guarantee to deal more than 1 damage either. The number is just physically larger(the icon) and colored red.
-A new extended ending. It's a longer cutscene that properly deals with every main(and alive) character.
-On a regular non-Dungeon map, you can set a cursor to basically help with your compass. It'll basically point you to wherever your destination is. It's GPS, Magic style!
-Healing Level 2 heals more than the other versions. Very useful.
-Your stats rise a bit faster. Not particular special.
-If you time it right, you can press your Action button again to do a double attack. Only works for pure Staff attacks. This was a rumored trick for Quest 64, but never worked. You cannot use a Magic Spell, and then a Staff attack, though.
-The Save Menu has new music.
I think that was everything. Also, all of the beta music from Quest 64 is not used in Eltail Monsters whatsoever. The Save Menu music is completely new.

Nah, you good
I'll do it tomorrow tho
Because my family is using my Wii U right now
In that case is there any chance I could change my bet to Zero Suit Samus if she isn't taken? I picked Zelda because she was the only character that popped into my head that I knew no one else would pick haha
Oh, I'm aware they went wayyyyy too far in some Comics. I should've said that Knuckles has it worse. My bad.

In FE7:
Wallace shows up in Lyn's Story and leaves the party once you hit Eliwood's one. You can onpy find him again if your Lord's level sum doesn't hit 50 on his chapter, if they do, you never see him again
Sonia gets an ambiguous end if you do Chapter 26x
In Sacred Stones:
Either Glen or Selena will get this, no avpiding it because they only get to die on-screen on either Eirika's or Ephraim's route, respectively
Pablo and Cormag if you kill Aias before them
And I'm pretty sure that can happen to Riev if you Seize the Throne without killing him
In that case is there any chance I could change my bet to Zero Suit Samus if she isn't taken? I picked Zelda because she was the only character that popped into my head that I knew no one else would pick haha
The original plans for the game are still vastly different. It had party members, a monetary system(there is no money in the series. Closest is Spirit Gems for a Lottery in the Gameboy remake), actual vehicles(a horse, at least. You even find a horse near the beginning of the game. Many reasons why it could be removed. Game was rushed, the battle system is done partially in real time...).
And I can only hope. Really, I'd be happy with a VC release of the Japanese version translated alone. "Quest 64.5" it could be called. XD
So remember that game where we were asked to create a Fighting game roster for a franchise of your choice? Well, just expanded my ideas, BEHOLD:
Super Bash Sisters!
Roster: (and yes that above took forever.)
Tried to make it like a typical fighting game roster, with clones ect.
Classic Pit & Orcos are the "Retro's"
Bayonetta is the "Guest" - Shoutout to whoever's idea this was!
Mimicutie is the "Joke".
Twinbellows(pretty fast tho), Pandora, Orcos, & Cragalanche are the "large and heavy" type characters like Bowser.
Pit & Classic Pit, Eggplant & Tempura Wizards respectively are the semi-clones. The Fighters are Quasi-Clones.
Fighter uses a Blade based moveset.
Dark Fighter uses a Claw based moveset.
Cherubot has alts where the fighters, Pit, Pittoo & Classic Pit are seen controlling it for more variety.
Dark Pit here is unique & uses various weapons.
Chariot Master is mostly on his own but for some moves the huge chariot with the unicorns appears, similar to Bayo's huge Wicked Weaves but looks and feels more fluid and 'ghostly'. Thanatos also has similar properties to Bayo's Weaves / Shape-Shifting too.
Mimicutie is God Tier.
Thoughts/Criticisms to either background/roster? Thanks for your time.

My particular gripe with this trope is when a certain character falls off the face of the earth without given much explanation in regards to what happened to them, especially if its a recurring character within a main cast. Sure if the writers no longer want to use them anymore they should at least give them a bit of closure before dropping them off, or else the fans just end up getting confused and wondering whatever happened to this one guy/girl and all.

To be fair, all the characters are pretty same-y reaction wise in the Party Games. I mean, MARIO gets scared of Bowser. I guess to sorta maintain the peppiness of the party games they had to do it.
Unless the games start having more depth I don't really see how they can continue. Something more than just more Jibanyan recolors.
In retail, I've seen toys be the top selling thing one year, and on clearance with no one buying them the next. Sure they still have fans, but when the stores don't have enough of them the first thing they do is stop selling the product.
Kid's would very easily just move on to the next big children's cartoon that comes on the TV.
Children aren't dumb. If they start seeing the repetitive nature of the product they'll start moving on the next thing that can offer them new excitement.
That's not true. in Japan in an article I have read earlier, Yo-kai Watch was still top selling toy of 2015.
Yo-kai Watch has been so popular in Japan that it has become part of Japan's media culture. It's been two years since its debut and its still loved by millions of children with them watching/playing the games and anime. Why? Because there's a certain unique charm and reliability in the Yo-kai Watch franchise that makes Yo-kai Watch one of the most successful brands in Japan.
I think it has the potential to be very successful. It's just a matter of people giving it a chance to show its true colors and treat it as a different thing from Pokemon.
Anyways I'd like to end the conversation there, this was a nice but brief conversation you guys had.
I'm going to drag this back up to complain how much fun Game theory used to be.
It was a channel applying real world concepts to video games. It was an absurd concept but it worked. It was all fun and games since it was silly trying to apply mathematics, science and physics to fictional video game concepts in a somewhat plausible manner.
But overtime something changed. I started seeing fans in other videos keep throwing around game theory's stuff as if it was confirmed or truth and it was weird to say the least. Also, the more popular the channel was getting I started to get the feel that MatPat himself started to take his theories more seriously then what it was.
To me, the channel was always a fun goofy concept of applying weird theories and real-life concepts to game characters that wasn't meant to take itself so seriously based on premise. But overtime (maybe after some Nintendo and FNaF theories) both the fans and MatPat himself started to take it far more seriously then what I originally thought it should be.
I still find the channel relatively fun on it's own, but I can understand why it makes everyone else cringe now. Oh well.
My love for Wario will never die: he will always be my favorite Mario character (with Peach a very close second).
But some of the flanderization of Wario has been disheartening. I blame his overexposure to Mario spin-offs, where generally all of the cast is flanderized in those games.

That's sorta my point. Just felt a bit much though, like they went out of their way to make portrayals questionable. Especially since spin-offs are usually good at this sort of thing.
And today, while working on my Cosmic Spirit mod, I decided to make it a voice mod too. I took voice clips of Mercedes Rose from Galaxy and MKWii, but I noticed...some of Rosalina's voice clips in MKWii are WAAAAAY over the top. It's a bit against her character.
But that was also her second appearance so again, it had an excuse.

It's a Smash CPU battle
Choose any character and hope they win
FD. All items.
Yeah, sure
This isn't a very formal thing with bureaucracy and stuff

I find it funny how adults (and some kids now) make these advanced theories to explain their fictional worlds in real standards, and most kids just explain it like:

Oh yeah, I agree, more so just talking about how it's probably not how they're going to keep her/not a sign of the future, which I guess you know. Party really could do with some more personality to the characters.
Voice hacking is possible already? I remember the days they were a luxury in Brawl, haha.
