But you don't even need to.

Robin can learn Nosferatu in his original game, but it requires a re-class. Smash doesn't depict him in the correct class for this move, but the excuse for using it regardless was to make him more unique (though Sakurai did mistake for him actually not being able to use it at all).

There is literally no reason why a re-tooled Lucina can't use a Bow. Not only can she use it in Awakening through a re-class, but she can now even use it Codename STEAM alongside Parallel Falchion. There's no reason not to.

Alright, I'll explain Sticks. Sega had been pushing Sonic Boom lately (even having one character interact with the Modern Canon in an upcoming spinoff) and the show was pretty successful if we ignore the horrible game. So I can see Sega shoving her in as the obligatory Sonic Boom rep.

But if there's other Sonic alternatives I'd go for, Blaze the Cat and Silver are options. But good call on having the Chaotix as a team fighter MainJPW .

I didn't say they had to have their main weapons removed.

In Codename STEAM, Ike uses an Axe as a secondary weapon, and Lucina uses a Bow. There's no reason why they can't have the same in Smash.

I don't see why they would change any of Ike's moves just to give him an axe
It'd also feel kind weird for a fighter like him to switch weapons for one move almost instantly

Agreed. I would say Rouge should be higher, but her popularity had been wanning with Blaze and Silver in existence.

The lower tiers seem fair from what I see because they are either clones or characters without any potential. Who the hell would even want to play as those two robotic clowns?

Geno's popularity exists as a mere remnant of what it used to be. In many ways he was to Brawl what Ridley was to Smash 4.

Regardless, he's well past his peak, I can't see him getting in at this point unless it jumps back up to what it was in 06/07/08, which I don't imagine will ever happen, barring him making a re-appearance in a Mario game. But then I guess he'd have another reason to be included past his dwindling popularity.

As it stands, him getting the costume was more than I personally was expecting, but it was a fitting acknowledgement of his support, and it was very nice to see. Geno is a cool character from a great game, but let's not forget he's only ever had one prominent role in a spin-off title from twenty years ago and one minor cameo since. Despite how some of the fanbase treats him, it's not like he's a big deal.

Woah it's not like there are only few SMRPG fans left in the internet, there is still huge amount of them around the internet and you could also see the japaness SMRPG fans as well you are probably just looking in the smash sites only but there other sites that you could easily see huge amount of SMRPG fanbase out there.
He wasn't big as in brawl days but he is still big and was able to stay the most requested Square-Enix character since brawl.

And PXZ2 has Chrom I don't think that's the best example to compare to Smash
Smash is fighting game while PXZ and STEAM are turn-based strategy
In Smash, you have a limited number of moves you can give to represent a character
I don't think they're too worried about that in those two

Decided to post my finalized updated Smash 5 roster. It's a mixture of personal wants and expectations/predictions.

As much as I want it to happen all cut Brawl vets returning is unlikely. I personally don't believe bringing back Ivysaur + Squirtle will be bad because it's Pokemon so it's fine for it to have so many characters & they are both unique. I personally believe they are also under-appreciated and I blame the dumb & stupid transformation mechanic that was cut for good.

Dr.Mario is now a costume. I cut Roy because he is the '3rd Marth ' in Smash 4 and felt FE should be toned down to justify Anna. Lucina gets to return because in this hypothetical scenario where she was a costume but had time to bring her back and change her up a bit. Besides, she's more significant than Roy anyway. Pittoo becomes semi-cloned similar to how Falco is. KI is BS and IDC. Viridi & Medusa would be amaizng to play as and very different from Palutena & eachother. If FE is allowed to have more than most want so should KI because 'muh very unique moveset potential'. #KIU2ByPlatinumPlease.

Honestly IMO Zelda, Kid Icarus, Pokemon & Xenoblade have the most diverse character pool to select from. Everything else should be self-explanatory. Thank you for your time.

As a Wii Fit main, I don't mind that. I even stomped a Shulk on Saturday with no problem. That Deep Breathing can do some wonders for aerials and tilts.

You know when making my roster yesterday, I wanted to do a combination of things, I wanted both characters that'd be safe, (Inklings, Takamaru, etc.) and some more out there choices that not many people would expect, (Tingle, Arcade Bunny, etc.), take a look if you will,

Newcomers List:
"Geno Joins the All-STARS!"- I decided to add Geno out of one thing and only one thing, his sheer popularity, as he's probably one of the most requested Mario characters period. He'd use several things from Super Mario RPG to fight.

"Captain Toad Gets Ready for Adventure!"- Toad was going to come eventually, but I wanted to add one with an established character. He fights with turnips and items from the Mario series.

"King K. Rool Goes Bananas!"- K. Rool is probably the most requested character right now... So duh... He fights with the Blunderbuss and his crown, along with other things too.

"Dixie Kong Gets into Trouble!"- Why not two D. K. characters, after all both are very requested. Fights with various Animal Friends like Squawks and Rambi, so no, she doesn't have to be a Diddy Semi-Clone.

"Ashely Stirs up a Ruckus!"- Ashely is one of the most popular Wario characters in existence, and is considered a fan-favorite among many. She uses various spells such as Pantalous Giganticus.

"Tingle Floats In!"- So when deciding a Zelda character, I wanted to go with the one I thought was most important to the series. I decided to go with Tingle considering he has his own spin-off series. He uses balloons, Rupees, and other tools from the Zelda games he appears in, and from his own series.

"Viridi Stirs Up a Storm!"- Pit had Palutena, and Dark Pit had... Exactly... She'd use her Scythe along with enemies from the Forces of Nature from Kid Icarus Uprising.

"Anna Spends Some Smashing!"- Anna has been in every Fire Emblem game with the exception of Gaiden, so I wanted to include her as a playable character. She can use any weapon type from any weapon class in Fire Emblem.

"Waddle Dee Waddles In!"- Waddle Dee (Or Bandana Dee) has been building a name for himself in the Kirby series, so eventually I expected him to make his way through. He can use far-ranged attacks with his spear and even fly with it.

"Zoroark Comes Like an Illusion!"- I thought that eventually when gen. 7 rolls around, Zoroark would be revived with his own Mega Evolution, kinda like what they did with Lucario. He fights using illusions and can transform into completely different forms.

"*Insert Gen. 7 grass starter tagline here*"- I feel a gen. 7 grass starter is inevitable... That's all I can actually say...

"Fiora Activates!"- With the recent release of Project X Zone 2 in Japan, I'm starting to feel that Fiora might be building a name for herself, and could be one of Nintendo's next big starlets. She fights with two blades, but has a unique aspect to her called a Tension Meter, which makes her more powerful the more she's damaged, however the more she uses it the weaker she gets.

"Elma Protects Humanity!"- Xenoblade Chronicles X is on sequel-hook, so by the time Smash 5 rolls around, she'll probably be a top-contender imo. Like Fiora she fights with two blades, however what makes her unique is the ability to switch between guns.

"Takamaru Swipes the Competition!"- This character's game was recently released in North America, and now I believe he's well known enough to be included as an ambassador for the NES era. He fights with various ninja/samurai tools, such as a katana, shurikens, etc.

"Yuuri Makes a Scene!"- I think that it's time a new genera, one native to Smash should be included, the horror genera. She fights with her Camera Obscura, a camera that can kill ghosts.

"Isaac Shakes the Ground!"- I think that a more niche franchise should be represented, and that franchise should be Golden Sun. Isaac is a Geomancer, and can control various elements.

"Chorus Kids Crash the Party!"- A new IP being represented is always something to look forward to, and Rhythm Heaven is no exception. These 3 poster-boys of the second game fight with various references to the series.

"Inkling Makes a Splash!"- Splatoon is Nintendo's new killer app, so what better way to acknowledge it then Super Smash Bros? They fight with Splattershots, Ink Rollers, and etc, and poison their foes with their ink, so they're much more decisive then other characters.

"Arcade Bunny Gets Real!"- So many people have asked questions about characters such as G & W, R. O. B., and Wii Fit Trainer, I mean these ones, "WHAT IS THIS CHARACTER DOING IN THIS GAME!? WHERE'S MUH RIDLEY!?" And now it's time they ask the same question about this character. He fights with various things from Badge Arcade, such as badges (No duh...), cranes, and bombs.

"Lloyd Levels Up!"- Lloyd was added as a fan service addition, courtesy of Namco-Bandai. He was their most requested character that wasn't Pac-Man. He has skills from the Tales of series such as his signature attack, Demon Fang, to other moves, such as Rising Falcon.

"Harry Potter Enchants the Battle!" (It's a Mii of Harry Potter, as the new Mii Mage) The Mii Fighters not having magic is a thing that mystifies me... (Pun not intended...) Anyways they use generic magic attacks pulled straight from other characters such as Robin and Bayonetta.

Cut Characters:
Dark Pit (Sorta...): Honestly he's universally hated, and I couldn't find enough things to justify his addition as his own character, as he only has four differences from Pit. He's better off as an alt for Pit to be perfectly honest.

Lucina: The only true cut in the game. I cut her because of the amount of Fire Emblem characters, and if I kept her and Anna, then that'd just be too much... However she has a trophy.

I also considered the characters Sylux, Henry Fleming, Wonder Red, Jibanyan, Layton, Rayman, Ezio, Master Chief, and Banjo.
