We could see another Western-developed character in Smash in the future. Unfortunately, it's going to require a) quite a bit of time and b) an insane amount of luck.

Speaking of girls in video games, it's interesting to see how there was pretty much a girl-plosion in Smash 4 when, back in 2008, Dixie and Krystal were like the only girl characters that had legitimate followings. It went from to to to and, nowadays, Inklings, Viridi, Isabelle, and Ashley were popular enough to warrant costumes, and I'd argue Dixie and Shantae still have a strong amount of support. Slightly off topic but I kind of wish they had gone with the female voice version of just so that the salt would have flowed freely and wildly for months afterwards.

• People get to invested into video game characters that's fine. However having a unhealthy addition of something the point where you get anxious whenever you can't talk about them is worrying.Rather it's daisy, Yokai, or Geno its a video game not life or death
• Banjo is loved so much and wanted so much because he feels like a Nintendo character and the fact sakurai at least considered him means he feels the same. Rare was one of those companies that people felt deserve and has earned a character and banjo is the closest thing to a mascot they have
