This was the funniest thing I've seen in a while. :rotfl:

The pun is so bad, it's too funny.

"You cannot grasp the ready body that just can't get going!"
Guess one could say you weren't... REGGIE!

Ok, maybe we should stop...

Yeah, we should...

so... to stay on topic... what stages would you like / expect to see in the new game?

I would like a Mario Galaxy themed stage. It could be Rosalina's Observatory and work like Delfino Plaza, by having a platform take you to the many places of the Observatory, but with a twist: the observatory would travel to the many galaxies from both Galaxy titles and the platform could land on a galaxy from time to time (depending on where the Observatory was at the time). The Toad brigade, the Lumas, the Mario Starship from Galaxy 2 and other characters from Super Mario Galaxy and Galaxy 2 would cameo in the stage as well. The Galaxies featured could be Good Egg Galaxy, Gusty Garden Galaxy, Freezeflame Galaxy, Boo Moon Galaxy, Starshine Beach Galaxy and Throwback Galaxy, meaning 3 galaxies from each of the two games.

The music selection would be the themes for each galaxy featured, plus one or two other themes from the Galaxy games alongside other classic Mario themes from other Mario games.

Just an idea I just had. I would also like to see Skyloft from Zelda: Skyward Sword, Bowser's Castle and Palutena's Temple from Kid Icarus: Uprising.

City Escape/Space Colony ARK/Some Other Zone
Groznyj Grad/other stage based on most recent MGS on Nintendo platform
Dr. Wily's Castle

I think in total we'll get more new stages than the amount I listed, but I think any others will be harder to predict.

Returning Stages
(if similar to Brawl's conditions)
Delfino Plaza
Rumble Falls (bleh)
Bridge of Eldin
Frigate Orpheon
Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
Halberd
Lylat Cruise
Spear Pillar
Port Town Aero Dive
New Pork City (double bleh)
The Summit
Castle Siege
Flat Zone 2

(if not just from the past game)
Delfino Plaza
Kongo Jungle
Hyrule Castle
Frigate Orpheon
Yoshi's Story
Fountain of Dreams
Sector Z
Saffron City
Mute City
Fourside
The Summit
Castle Siege
I guess Flat Zone 2, the lesser of two evils. :p

-or the stages that return could just be without any pattern, sort of like Melee, in which case there's not much point predicting.[/COLLAPSE]

It could use a bit of updating (especially Pokemon - and probably a new WW stage as well), but I still think it's a decent prediction list. Like I said in it, I don't think these will be all the stages, just the ones that can be relatively easily predicted/guessed.

With the Wind Waker stage I'm probably going to assume they will just bring back the Pirate Ship stage. Though I would love to see a new one too. Maybe Outset Island or Hyrule Castle? :)

Their probably going to make another Pokemon Stadium and FlatZone stage.

And if for any epic reason Professor Layton makes it in. St. Mystere from the first game. It would work exactly like Delfino Plaza.

How about we also speculate returning stages? Or is there already a thread about it? :/

With the remakes, I think they should make three or four new Zelda stages:

- Skyloft, from Skyward Sword. Would work in a Delfino Plaza-esque way.
- A new stage based on Zelda Wii U, should the game come before SSB4.
- Ganon's Castle, from Ocarina of Time. The battle would take place in the outside area around the castle. The rainbow bridge of the Sages would be present too.
- A new Wind Waker stage. Perhaps a more remade version of the Pirate Ship stage from Brawl, featuring the many islands from the game and more obstacles.

Returning stages could be Great Bay, Temple (again, because that stage is AWESOME! :awesome:) and Bridge of Eldin. Two returning stages if there's a Zelda Wii U stage (in that case, scrap Temple), three returning stages otherwise.

They should scrap Bridge of Eldin before they scrap Temple. Temple is(from my experience) one of the most popular stages in casual play. Also, I think they should bring baack Hyrule Castle instead of Great Bay. We need more 64 stages dammit!

I agree, actually, but the fact is it's damn popular.
Back before the Smash 64 English website went down, Hyrule Castle was the most popular 64 stage.

They never brought it back, so many players don't even know it exists like they know Temple does. If it was brought back, we'd have a very different story on our hands.

I've been thinking about charge Smashes lately. What do you guys think of the charge mechanic being applied to supers like SFxTK instead? You charge and you get a free final smash.

No. At least, not with Smashes. If they implemented a system like that with specials, then maybe I could see it working.

Funny, I have almost the exact thoughts, but with:
Skyloft as a Temple-ish stage. (In terms of size and concept)
Ganon's Tower taking place inside, with Phantom Ganon breaking away parts of the floor.
But yea, I can easily see Pirate Ship returning, though I really want Dragon Roost Island instead.

I think a Warawara Plaza level could happen, similar to how Pictochat was, only with more Miis and Game Logos around.

I recall the dojo opening sometime after E3 2006. After info on the characters shown in the trailer,it wasn't updated until the Wii launche in North America, and then in mid 2007 went to the daily update format.

Yeah, Dojo got updated like a month and half before E3 2007, if I remembered it right.

Uh-oh!

Looks like our buddy Masahiro Sakurai has a bad case of repetitive strain injury (RSI). It's so bad that he said it's at "the point where it's starting to restrict my work and lifestyle." He's currently using a trackball to get things done.

I'm sure Smash 4 won't be in danger during its production because of this but I wish the best for Sakurai.

Last time Sakurai jeopardized his health for Smash we got Melee. :awesome:

Of course I hope he gets better, but I'm sure the game will be fine either way.

That's not a good sign then. :troll:

Anyway I'm not sure what kinda job the director does, but it's a good thing he has a large team this time around. Also anyone want to make the bet that the trackball is the new controller? :smirk:

Time for him to cutting down his time with twitter. :troll: Seriously, I really hope that he would recovered soon as possible. I would hate that it would hinder his future with video games industry. Well, HE MUST RECOVER, right?

Edited: I hope that he would take it easy with RSI. I have bad case of RSI too. I haven't really play the games for like last two weeks or so.

Looks like Sakurai-san needs to take a break... =P So yeah, he must recover! :troll:

Seriously now, I hope he gets better. Any kind of illness may befall anyone at any time, so we may never know when it might be our turn... o.o

And I do understand those who have RSI since I have a mental disability that affects my movement coordination, making certain tasks (like writing, using the PC's mouse and sometimes even speak) more difficult for me when compared to a normal person.

I wonder if RSI also may be related to overplaying a video game. But yeah, you can't overwork yourself.

Poor guy needs a break, indeed. Taking a beak from Twitter sounds good, indeed. As well as, just perhaps, maybe, I dunno, doing a bit more "watching over" his employees and letting them do more work? A supervisor is just as important as a data cruncher, after all. They all are needed.

I'm sure Sakurai having RSI isn't going to cause development to screech to a halt. I mean, he's not, like, actually coding every single line of the game or such. Isn't he mainly a supervisor?

Keep in mind that Higuchi is also directing the game, so I wouldn't worry about there being no directors on board.

Also no, Sakurai is not a supervisor.
