I liked Brawl Yoshi the best. But he needed his power of Melee Yoshi's N Air and F Air. Melee Down Smash was also a lot better. I hope he at least gets double the range and speed on Neutral B and grabs.

Yoshi was once pretty good long-long ago in a Land Before Time.

I played Yoshi as secondary in Melee. With the coming of walk-off stages, I felt he had a good counter-pick stage in Brawl. People did not like the idea of walk-off stages do to infinite chain grabs, which I totally agree with. Do we think that walk-off stages will be banned once again just by default habit? Or will we wait to decide to see if there are no infinite grabs that allow easy gimps on walk-offs.

If you think about it, Yoshi has a quite hard disadvantage to edge stages due to his recovery being one of the worst in the game. He can EASILY be gimped on a ledge stage. What do you people think?

Yoshi was pretty good in Meele This was one of the top Yoshi players in Japan:
Yoshi's super armor allowed him to plow through most character's aerials (which made it really helpful against Marths) and punish with a fair.
Yoshi was iight in Brawl, the only thing that he really got buffed was his slight aerial boost with egg throw and bair. his egg throw was nerfed in placements.

I hope they return Yoshi's 64 style Air Down A, Flutter Kick. It was really difficult to use in Melee/Brawl, and it wasn't game-breaking or anything either. He'd still be pretty balanced with that version. It wasn't even a spike/meteor smash like a lot of the others were. I don't get why it had such a high starting lag...

Would like if Ness got more moves with the bat. A few tilts could use it I feel. Am in favor of Lucas keeping the PK Fire and Thunder combo, make him the default character and unlock Ness who has PK Flash, PK Teleport and PK Paralysis.
I'd actually rather more yo-yo moves, it's such a unique weapon in terms of conventionality and possible uses.

I want Mewtwo to be as heavy as Yoshi now we talking about Yoshi.

I'd really like it if Egg Throw became Yoshi"s Side B to.

Ness needs: bat Side tilt. Yo-yo for Up tilt, also possibly Down tilt.

Wait and see. The precedent only matters if we have bull**** like DDD's chaingrabbing again. Other than that, I honestly don't see the problem with walk-off stages.

While Yoshi's recovery was pretty damn bad, at least he had the option to plow through certain attempts to edgeguard him at about mid-range thanks to his super armor. Good DI also helped the placement of the arc you traveled in.

Also, a thousand internets to the person that figures out where the avatar and the phrase beneath it comes from.

That and the egg placement set-ups at 1:21-1:23 is what I used to do a lot in Melee.
They made egg throw a lot more punishable in Brawl, which was pretty hard for me coming off of Melee where that was key for set-ups and finishers

I didn't mind Yoshi having the double jump functioning as his recovery. His super armor helped him from being denied landing, but when a person knows how to time a good footstool... that really destroys Yoshi seeing how it bypasses super armor and makes his only means of recovery pointless.

As for chain-grabbing, I'm thinking that it will be toned down a bit for this installment of Smash. Especially when they could possibly remove IC's godly chain grabs, due to them needing to rework the character anyway for the 3DS.

@Hyper- I tend to like the less important but still main characters the most yeah haha

I actually don't like birds all that much (that being said, Swellow is one of my favorite Pokemon), but Falco is just too fun to play as in Melee and Brawl alike, plus I love his personaliyy

As for girls in latex... *insert slightly devious yet epic slow smile here*

Nah for real though lol, I just like playing as her in Brawl, dat whip

What would solve Chain grabbing is having a tech grab system like in every Fighting Game out there. It would certainly prevent ICs grab shenanigans.

Not gonna lie, while I love DDD as a character and all, the second most important reason why I picked him was the salt I could induce via chaingrabbing. I know, I know, it's a terrible thing and I agree with people when they say it shouldn't be in the game, but to me it's absolutely hilarious to see the exasperation on a person's face when they're getting carried across the stage. Yes, I did actually watch people; at the height of when I played competitive Brawl, I had the timing for chaingrabbing down-pat so well (even with certain characters where you had to adjust somewhat) that I could actually look away from the screen and stare at my opponent.

I had fun. lol

I liked how TMNT Smash Up did grabs. If you could react to them, you could break them very fast; but like Smash, you can just instathrow your opponent, so you'll get no additional damage from grab attacks.

...TMNT SU was sucky, but some of its mechanics were good enough to use again in another game. I actually REALLY love how the game worked competitively.

LOL! I had a friend who mained Ice Climbers and he would have a field day at the end of the year in Highschool when our teachers allowed us to play video games in class. He use to just stare and smile whoever fell into is hands. I personally am not a fan of the chain grabbing and jab/laser locks, but when it happens I find it hilarious.....until it happens to me :crying:

Well, if it's in the game and it doesn't make the game unplayable (freezing the screen, postponement of a match, corrupting data, et cetera), I'm not against it. Not entirely. To me, chaingrabbing and jab/laser locks are a byproduct of the meta and the game itself. You can avoid those situations---space well enough to where you don't get grabbed, don't be a dummy and fall for the tech traps, et cetera. That said, I still think stuff like that is reflective of poor design choices and the like, and it probably shouldn't exist in the first place.

And no, for the record, I am not going to argue with any of you about the nature of the Metaknight ban and planking. I'm just as ambivalent as the rest of the competitive Brawl community insofar as that goes.

Well, balance is going to be way better this time around anyway.

Personally, I found the game's order of release with 64 being the most balanced, a fair reflection of how the balance has been so far. Albeit, obviously, more characters meant weaker balance in this case. Of course, taking items into account, it's not bad enough for each game, respectively.

But it'll be better, hopefully, so all's good.

Words cannot express the sheer amount of stupidity. Naruto and Nyan Cat in Smash? No wonder Kamiya tells SSB fans to **** off.

It's ridiculous bout what some ppl's requests are. The least ppl could do is actually request a NINTENDO character! Show me more ridiculous stuff. D:

There are multiple reasons to be upset. DK and King DeDeDe would easily swap tier placements if it wasn't for DeDeDe's chaingrabs.

Wait, DK actually has a good match-up with DDD without the chaingrab? News to me.:troll:

In all seriousness, that infinite does hurt the five characters that it affects.

I started about a week ago. I'm not super good or anything though. I am a lot better than when I started though! (My first game I was 0/13/1 but yesterday I was 2/1/5 and pretty much was the de facto leader) I'm going to be a bit bummed when Caitlyn gets shuffled out.

Did DK and Diddy get anything that might transfer into SSB4 in the new DK game? All we know that's changed about DK so far is his looks are better and his upB swings at an angle on the ground now.

Caitlyn players can suck a ****

Well, that's assuming Diddy doesn't get bundled with Dixie, but I'd rather they stay separate if Dixie does get in this time around.

I'd be somewhat disappointed if Ice Climbers don't have anything cool they can do with their grabs this game. There are also grapplers in every fighting game out there and Ice Climbers fill that roll in SSB so it'd be a shame if that identity was taken away. They don't have to have 0-deaths like in Melee and Brawl, but hopefully something cool.

Also, I play League. (: My username is Kackame, and I'm gold 1.
