I never knew I would lose interest in Smashboards so quick...it's just ever since the Smash Bros 3DS and Wii U trailers were revealed, my most wanted Nintendo characters seem incredibly unlikely all of a sudden...but before the Smash Bros 3DS and Wii U trailers were revealed...my most wanted characters had a more likely feel and now it's gone.
People need to stop going all emo if something they wanted doesn't turn out to be 100% the way they wanted it. For example, a car. "OHHH NOOO THE COLOR IS BLUE NOT RED. I HATE THIS". Instead it's, "Ohhhhh noooo, a game I raved about to come out is coming out and it's still in development and they still haven't announced my character?? **** THIS!" Face reality and use some common sense to realize not even probably a 1/4 of the cast have been announced.

Actually, while there's a lot I might've changed about Brawl, I would've simply loved to have an option to delete Stage and Fighter data separately. Also, any small thing removed from the Japanese version of Brawl only made our game overall faster since more space existed. Not that leaving out the demos of Earthbound and Fire Emblem were anything less than wrong, but still.

I didn't mind tripping. Courses were uneven in balance to crazy, but most of them were great. Fighters... uhh, yeah. Just yeah. (roster was a great selection though, even if I wanted the rest of the 7 finished, or 6).

I have said this before and I'll say it again: higher expectations mostly lead to disappointment.

Keep an open mind. The game has just been announced and we know little about it. So far, only three newcomers have been confirmed and those don't rule out any of our wanted characters. Sure, they were unexpected, but I'm sure Sakurai aimed for the unexpected. He even admitted that he put Wii Fit Trainer in the game for the surprise factor and because she was an unexpected character.

MegaMan was unexpected? The rest, yes, I agree. Villager since Sakurai wouldn't allow him in Brawl, and Wii Fit Trainer was pretty much the Dr. Mario pick.(no, Pichu doesn't count because he was still pretty popular and had a movie)

I don't even find Villager unexpected. An Animal Crossing rep was a given pretty much as one of the newer successful Nintendo IPs that didn't have a rep.

It was either Villager, Tom Nook, or Resetti.

It was unexpected because Sakurai made it clear during Brawl Development that "Characters like this[Villager and Nintendog shown] will not be playable in Smash". It wasn't expected for him to do a 180 on that and change his mind entirely.

He was wanted, but unlikely as of Brawl.

Things can change from 2008 to 2013 however.

Especially considering the fan base for AC is even bigger now than it was before Brawl's release.

It just made a lot of sense to me that even with Sakurai's comments we'd get a rep in this game for AC.

Speaking about disappointment. I would be pretty disappointed if Link sucks again or if Wolf doesn't return. It would break my heart. I really tried to main Link in Brawl. It just wasn't the same. Hopefully they go back to his roots or give him a redesign... maybe a speed boost (skyward sword). Wolf was my unexpected main. I was always a fan of Wolf ever since Starfox 64... but to be honest I didn't think he was a necessary roster addition. Now that I have him I don't want him to be cut. They already cut Mewtwo/Dr. Mario (two of my very used characters). He is literally the only character that I want. I don't even care if they ruin Link again. I don't care if we get a roster of 30 or lower... I just want my Wolf. :c

Lol, I don't see why he would ever be in danger of being cut

If they kept Ness in Brawl despite them adding Lucas too and the former actually being in danger of being cut in Melee, I think Wolf returning is a pretty safe bet

Doesn't make characters who he said will not be in a Smash Bros. game expected.

Again, irrelevant.

It just made a lot of sense to me that even with Sakurai's comments we'd get a rep in this game for AC.

Which makes little sense since people would expect what he said to hold true over him changing his mind. Again, only MegaMan was actually an expected character overall. For Villager, those that didn't know nhe was personal rejected might've expected him this time around. But those who did in many cases did not expect him. Like me.

The only one that was most expected was MegaMan overall. Villager is mixed, but he wasn't know for being violent, something that kept Toad out. So his expectence wasn't high. Wii Fit Trainer was hardly expected.

As for Wolf, he's pretty safe at this point. I'm more worried about Falco since he's far less unique and just another hero. Wofl also has the villain thing going on. I have a feeling they'll all stay, whether or not we might get Krystal, but Sakurai didn't even know she existed till after Brawl, or very near the end.

I hope you are right. I remember spending hours upon hours trying to unlock him in Melee. I remember I convinced myself that since he was in opening movie sequence that surely he was playable. Once Brawl came around I thought he would be a special case like Ridley (I began to associate the two because of their involvement in the cut-scene). So I didn't have high hopes. I actually held off and didn't spoil the final roster. When I unlocked Wolf... lets just say if I made a reaction video you would have thought I was faking it. This was especially good for me seeing as they butchered the living hell out of Link. I would have been slightly more devastated if it had not been for Wolf. I never understood why people called him a clone. I guess his reflector and final smash or something. I would have preferred if he came in on the Wolfen, but beggars cant be choosers. :awesome:

People saying Ness, Lucas, Falco or Wolf should be cut are stupid in general.

Lol, trust me, Sakurai's gonna try his best to keep everyone this time, and even if the train leaves behind a couple of people, I highly, highly doubt that Wolf would be one of them

Wolf is pretty much completely different from Fox yeah, besides some of his special moves and FS

Wolf's Dash is Fox's Forward Smash. Imagine that. :p

And really, isn't his Reflector and Final Smash the only special moves to be alike? All the rest are widely different. We're talking Mario/Luigi Fireball differences at the very least.

Wolf for Sm4sh. With a Wolfen. In Sector Z. Falco's body was never found again. :awesome:

For the record, Falco is totally awesome too.

Check the spoiler. :awesome:

And yeah, I found him more fun than Fox in Melee, but for Brawl, Wolf took over.

So you like birds, second bananas, and girls in latex suits, MO? I approve. ;)

One thing that made PASBR really lame is the characters barely said anything. Not even grunts. You hear a lot of them in Smash and they talk as much as necessary.

Most of them only really talk in taunts and final smashes though.

The only one who talks a decent amount is Parappa, and that's only during his Level 3 screen nuke.

I think it's still too early to have that sort of mindset. We just saw only three newcomers and as some of them being mindblowing (depending on the person), we still have most of the newcomers unveiled.

At least Miss Fit and Villager (and Megaman) show that:

- Expect the unexpected. You can never predict Sakurai.

- Assumptions/Traditions can change. And change is part of nature.

- Even your wildest dreams can come true.

So with that said, keep an open mind. Maybe you find new favourites during this game. At least I did from Miss Fit.

And also if you feel like Sakurai's not aware of the fanbases when doing rosters, go read up some articles.
He really is more dedicated to us than we can think.

So no reason to have your hopes down. Like Frost said, just don't put up expectations and watch what'll happen.
It's alright. I really appreciate the great advice of hope but I was only being honest. I may visit the link sometime soon.
What are your characters that you wanted? if you don't mind me asking.

I do feel the bar has been set very high for character invitations to this game. Much higher than what the majority of us was expecting.
Thank you for understanding.

My most wanted Nintendo characters are Masked Man from Mother 3, Lyn from Fire Emblem, and Young Link from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

I already accepted that Lyn will never be added to the universe of Super Smash Bros.

Some if not most fans of the Super Smash Bros series want Lucas cut completely from the series but if Sakurai removes Lucas then Claus can't be added and if the Mother series gets a third representation, it will be Ninten.

Young Link from Majora's Mask being a playable character where he can use the 4 Mask Transformations, Deku, Goron, Zora, and the Fierce Deity Link as his Final Smash is just not going to happen, even with the release remake of Majora's Mask. If Young Link returns, it will be him alone.

Would like if Ness got more moves with the bat. A few tilts could use it I feel. Am in favor of Lucas keeping the PK Fire and Thunder combo, make him the default character and unlock Ness who has PK Flash, PK Teleport and PK Paralysis.

I've wanted Majora's Mask Link for so long. But like you, I have realized the truth...

Heels, did HyperFalcon just mistake what you said to me as directed at her? Because what you said to me in the context to her, that sounds absolutely horrible.

She has me on ignore, as far as I know, so my quote may not have shown up for her?
You know, I was actually thinking she thought that, but was like, nah, she had to of seen me quoting you! But the possibility of you being on ignore wasn't something I considered. If she is reading this and that IS the case, yeah, I didn't mean the S***ty part to you, I would only say that to Oasis because that's his thing.

Also wow, I'm usually a huge jerk to HyperFalcon and even I knew she was transgendered. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS.
SHE'S NEVER SAID THIS TO ME BEFORE ALL THIS TIME I'VE BEEN PROWLING HERE LEAVE ME ALONE.

It was unexpected because Sakurai made it clear during Brawl Development that "Characters like this[Villager and Nintendog shown] will not be playable in Smash". It wasn't expected for him to do a 180 on that and change his mind entirely.

He was wanted, but unlikely as of Brawl.
I think I was the only one, or almost the only one, to put Villager into my prediction roster when we were doing the Toise thing. But that's really only because a portion of my newcomer selection I just did what I wanted since I find the concept of prediction somewhat fruitless. With the addition of Mega Man I think I'm in the lead

Guys, I have no hard feelings towards anyone about my transgenderism. Don't worry about it.

@GY: Talking about various characters.

And bad puns.

I just pray Yoshi is at least half as decent as he was in 64 and Melee.
