I was watching Miss Fit burning calories and burning bodies in her trailer, and I just now noticed that the attacks have more weight to them now thanks to the changed sounds.

Ten bucks the Tekken team helped with that one.

You think we'll see something like this? Not really sure what Sakurai will do with F-Zero. I also think the Wii U game will see more returning stages than the 3DS. Who really knows though.

With what Sakurai said about things that can't technically work for 3DS that work on the Wii U will be cut for that version, rest assured, limitations are NOT going to be the reason characters are scrapped. That's a relief.

....so pretty much my idea of limiting certain aspects of characters like Sheilda, Ice Climbers, etc. for 3DS version only while leaving them intact for Wii U isn't so farfetched after all.

What sort of technomancy do you wizards use to implant a gif into your posts?

Le [*collapse] Tags, with the aforementioned gif link (inserted by using the tree mentioned 2 posts down from here) fitting snugly between 2 of them, as so. [/*collapse] No *' in the final version, obviously.

For a less page-stretching smell.

Well what do you know.
The Wii U and 3DS versions of the game do not support any manner of cross-play between the two platforms, he said. Sakurai explained that, due to the stages that will be unique to each platform, the systems would be incompatible. And while the handheld and console versions of the next Super Smash Bros. will feature system-specific stages, the game's moves, characters and items will be "nearly identical."

Sakurai left himself an out on that explanation, however, saying that if there are items on the Wii U version that can't technically be accomplished on Nintendo 3DS, he'll leave them out of that version.

Granted, it's just items, but hopefully this means if that other issues arise in the future that Sakurai will consider leaving the Wii U content untouched.

Also interesting:
"There will be a single player [campaign], but it won't be like the [Subspace Emissary] mode in Brawl," Sakurai explained. That game's adventure mode offered a series of unlockable movies that explained the Subspace Emissary plot. "One thing we can do with the Smash Bros. series that's unique to us — because we have all these different disparate characters brought together — is we can create that sort of fan-movie experience as a special gift. But now those things are posted on the internet, it doesn't really become a gift for people who played the game."

"What we decided this time around, we're just going to have [those movies unlocked] from the beginning," Sakurai said. "We're going to have a movie for Wii Fit Trainer, The Villager and Mega Man and they'll be viewable right at the beginning, you can watch those right away."
Less bloating means more room for the content that matters.

I'll miss SE, but I'd much rather he focus on more items, stages, characters, and stuff that will genuinely make the game fun for me to play with my friends and others.

So while I'm a bit sad, I'm willing to sacrifice a detailed story mode if we get more content where it really matters.

Grab the gif's url and surround it by IMG tags.

The insert image button. The one with the big green tree in it.

I honestly don't think it's literally discussing Items.
For now I'm reading it literally, but it certainly opens the door to the possibility of Sakurai leaving other stuff in the Wii U version rather than needlessly removing something. Hopefully there will not be a need for much of that to begin with.

I'm calling it, we're getting a "destiny" type Campaign. Like, in the SC series. With destined battles and junk

I'll see SSE in hell.

Instead of taking it literally, look at it grammatically.
"items that can't be technically accomplished"

Seems more that "item" was used as another way to say "aspect". Given that it's a synonym, that makes more sense that aspects of the game (be it specific aspects of a character, stage, gameplay, etc.) can raise issue in being accomplished on technical grounds to the point that those aspects have to be cut for the 3DS version rather than referring to specific Items used in battle.

EDIT: Taken within context of what Sakurai said about issue involving characters that use multiple fighters at once, it fits like a glove.

It's refreshing to see that Sakurai is taking a new approach with the campaign mode. Hopefully this time it won't be so generic.

It's also nice to see him listen to criticism and try to improve/change things.
Exactly, it seems like he's addressing most of the problems we had with brawl.

The only criticism I have of Sakurai at this time is his decision to let the weaker of the two gaming systems to decide the fate of the roster.

I'm willing to bet that MH3U's hunter will be a playable character
And 2 stages one for each system.
