To be honest, if it wasn't for Snake's reveal in Brawl, I would have never touched a Metal Gear game or be the huge fan that I am today. So I have to thank Smash Bros. for this.

Take Quantam of Solace out of the equation, and I will agree with you one hundred percent.
NO!!! LEAVE IT IN... and improve it. Make the story better for it, keep some of the action and expand, make it up the quality of Casino Royale and Skyfall and "connecting it" with both movies (in this game), especially with the best James Bond movie ever IMO, Skyfall. That way, we can say we finally got Quantam of Solace DONE RIGHT, and the Quantam of Solace WE ALWAYS WANTED!!! :shades:

And Smooth Criminal will never see it coming, Smooth Criminal will be mad it's in the game initially, and then, Smooth Criminal ll be like "wow, this game made a weak-ish James Bond movie great," and it will make Smooth Criminal happy this was in the game, and then, Smooth Criminal will have enjoyed the game more.

Lastly, it would be pretty awesome if there were missions from other James Bond movies, between or before each movies, and some unrelated missions (and levels) as well. It would also be nice if this game had more stealth elements, and more of an focus (and even a reward) on stealth than previous James Bond games have had.
Smash 4 needs strings, projectile dodging moves, and air dashes.
It also needs freaking spikes back, because they made for some sexy kills. Seriously, WHO DOESN'T LOVE SEXY KILLS=??? (Game fArts apparently)

Still, I do agree with all of these, except possibly air dashes. I also would like to add Smash Wii U and 3DS need some smash 64-esk DI, and Ness and Lucas need to have PK Thunder launch them like thrice as far, and have way more DI on the way down than they did in Brawl, and you should be able to use PK Thunder infinitely.

Or they can at least give them the ability to tech a wall when they hit it with their PK Thunder.

If I could like your post more than once, John, I would. I am excited to see where this story goes.
Kojima looks like he's really gonna put his all into this game, and it's going to be amazing. They both will be a day one purchase for me if I can actually get both consoles!
I also agree that a remake of Metal Gear 1 and 2 would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
Especially if they made the story actually good. No offense to Kojima, but his stories for both games didn't hold up that well. On top of that, a re-imagined version of both games with modern technology would be simply incredible, and would make for great games in say a collector's super HD edition along with the rest of the Metal Gear saga.

After Brawl I made my friend come over and play all the MGS games in order so I could see how cool Snake is.

Strangely, MGS2 holds the most memories for me... I guess because another friend came over during the playthrough and we all had a good time cracking jokes at Raiden. The ambitious/convoluted story may also have had something to do with it.

Or they could have Infinite PK Thunder, have PK Thunder goes thrice as far, give Lucas and Ness the ability to wall tech (with and without PK Thunder), the ability for Ness and Lucas to wall jump and maybe even wall cling, and the ability for both characters to heck, even PK Thunder THROUGH OBJECTS!!!

Seriously though, PK Thunder needs to stop being bad, as does Lucas and especially Ness.

My cousin had the inverse happen with him. He would have never played or come to love Smash Bros. without Snake's reveal in Brawl... which is a reason WHY SNAKE AND SONIC NEED TO STAY!!! Plus Snake and Sonic both have so much incredible moveset potential. Both of them add a nice touch of freshness to Smash Bros.

THRICE as far? Isn't that a bit... extreme?

That about how far PK Thunder went in Smash 64, and it wasn't too extreme there. It's still a very predictable move that you can counter.

Also, PK Thunder only goes as far as Firefox in my estimates in Brawl. The move is actually worse than it was in Melee, and in Melee, it was horrendous.

That's practically full stage on Battlefield!
It is the full stage of Battlefield, or about as long as Snake's recovery is. Why shouldn't Ness or Lucas have it=??? Ness already had it in Smash 64, and even then he was pretty weak in that game.

Both characters need all the help they can get. I mean, they aren't that fast, they aren't that elusive, all of their special moves are trash, they aren't that strong, their range is small, they have minimal combos, they got minimal offensive diversity, their current shielding and stun frames make them terrible on the ground (although that will be fixed), and on top of that they have the worst recovery in the game (sans maybe Ganondorf), and the only saving grace is that Lucas has a tether recovery (but Ness does not).

Yeah, it wasn't quite THAT long. Edit: Actually probably twice as long, didn't think it was at first, but that's probably about right.

Although I'm all for them being buffed. I love the Earthbound characters in Smash, they are my other favorites aside from Olimar. :(

Keep in mind Brawl's stage to character ratio heavily skewed for close combat.
Compare Melee's Corneria to Brawl's Melee Corneria. Hell Sector Z in 64 took 2 jumps to reach the fin panel of the ship! Characters seem to be getting bigger and stages are getting smaller.

So whatever the ratio is for this installment it should be a scale proportionally for balance.

It wasn't quite that long, but dang it, I want the move to be awesome, and I want two freaking psychic boys to finally act like psychic boys!!! I mean, if Meta Knight, Pit, and freaking Charizard can fly, why is this such a big deal=??? Seriously, they're freaking psychic, and they need this buff more than anyone.

Also, freaking their neutral B's need to not be absolutely a waste of a button. The same goes to a lesser extent with their down B's and forward B's.
Still a better love story than Twilight.

I considered sneaking Pink and Rock Pimin in there somewhere, but it would have made the GIF too cramped.

Well I heard someone talking bout Snake in Brawl making em like the MGS series, so here's something bout me and Kid Icarus.

I'd have to say Brawl made me interested in Pit a lot more, and the Kid Icarus series. While melee only made me hear a tiny bit of Pit via trophy, it was Brawl who made me love him, and Uprising just made the love better. From melee to Brawl, I converted from a weak Bowser to a cool and cute Pit. First started with how epic Pit was in the Brawl trailer, to using him a lot, to Uprising, and soon to be Smash4.
Then I have to blame Uprising, and a bit of my random imaginations and fantasies (in a sense) for making me love Palutena so much. Then again, I'd be lying if I didn't say that I loved pairing Pit with the ladies (mostly Peach, Samus, and Palutena... and I still do). For those who know the term, it's essentially a "harem" for Pit in my mind... That lucky angel. <3

But tbh, I thought I was gonna still be a Bowser main since he's one of my childhood characters, but I guess he's just meant to be one of the lesser characters and that is discouraging (take a look at the MU vs D3 and most campers as Bowser). After all this time though, I'm generally a Pit main with Bowser on the side. When Smash4 comes, provided the characters are there, I'd probably be maining Pit, Palutena, Bowser and his son, depending on how they work, but Pit and Palutena before anything else. Now you know more a bit bout me, and my secret liking of Pit being paired with some ladies if not a harem.

Pikmin is an interesting situation.
I guess Olimar will stay, but will those three have a spot? If so, will they be clones?

Ness/Lucas' recovery is high risk and decent reward, and it requires a bit of skill to get right. And when you look at the God-like recovery of R.O.B and Pit. it seems like they should have a bit more of a buff, but no that much.

Thinking about it you weren't that far off, I forgot about how long it was in the original! Makes me want to go start up my VC Smash right now to play it. I love PK Thunder, making it more viable would be much appreciated by me.

Hmmm yeah that's practically never used by me, even against things as predictable as CPUs.

Awesome Starphoenix! They should be alternate skins for Olimar. Unsure if that has been said in the group thread on the subject.

Pichu and Riachu are a must!

And if they are too lazy at least make the sex variation of Pikachu with the heart shaped tail for females. Or! They can make a shiny version that leaves a sparkle trail as it moves.

Creativity-wise, Ness has very cool specials (except for B which is just a power version of Din's fire).

I really like this idea, but I think that Sakurai would be against having entire character swaps. It kind of destroys the character if you just swap him/her out for someone entirely different.

Also, is there any chance for Lucas to be entirely decloned from Ness? I know nothing about Mother and don't really know if they do the same thing.

The new Sonic game seems really great. The 2D ruins level or whatever seemed to have questionable design when I saw the video for it (could be me being hypercritical), but the rest seemed fairly interesting. Love the "bunches of different paths through the level" thing they have going on.

But they effectively are identical to Olimar (as far as we know I guess, if not, basically for the most part), and Olimar's name could change to match the skin. Though I do see what you mean.

I don't think Lucas adds that much to the game. Either allow Ness to absorb some of the better attributes and take Lucas out, or give Lucas different specials and maybe different jumps.

I think it's weird they call the levels: Desert 1 and Desert 2 when Desert 1 is candy themed and Desert 2 is forest themed

Isn't there a Daisy swap for Peach in Melee/Brawl?
So i can kinda see it happening. But there is still a big possibility that it may not.

There is also a blood falcon

Though in Brawl they turned more to color swaps

In melee they had more cosmetic differences

He's literally the best character in the best franchise Disney has spit out in years. Speaking of which, Pirates 5 is in the works.

Idiots are dumb enough to want VEGETA, THE PRINCESS OF ALL SAIYANS!!!
Goku >>>>>> Vegeta

Deal with it.

Anyway, I do agree that whatever is shown in the Disney channel these days should steer clear of a Disney fighter. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Disney working on a Smash-like fighter which they later canned?

Would it help if I said that Perry the Platypus (And all of Phineas and Ferb) was created by the same people that made Rocko's Modern Life?

In those, they were just costume swaps. Their characters still did not change. That's the big difference.

If that is the case, then Alph maybe the only cosmetic swap for Olimar. Brittany could be too. they all have pretty similar body types.
