I have a feeling that it's simply going to be a buffed version of the Brawl Aura mechanic. No major changes, just buffed.
If it means it will help him, then I'm all for it. I'm not expecting it to change drastically.

Not surprising. Some of these people are refugees from the Roster Prediction Discussion thread. They have nowhere else to go.

I'm not expecting the Aura gimmick/mechanic to chance much.

I don't really frequent these parts a lot, but why did the RPDT get locked?

Let's just say it's a clean-cut example of why three company crossovers don't work. And that SEGA got a really raw deal. Pretty much almost every one of their most famous and well-known characters were left out of the game.
Ever thought that might've been on purpose?

A lot of the Sega cast isn't known simply because they only advertise Sonic really. This was actually a really good advertising opportunity for a lot of the series in that game. I had never heard of Valkyria Chronicles and had only knew OF Sakura Wars.

Basically because of one member causing the entire thread to go off topic in a flame-y way. The user is now banned and the thread was locked.
I see. That place had become huge, perhaps the hugest after the P:M Social Thread v1, something like that was bound to happen. Is the lock permanent though?

Yes. A new Roster Prediction Discussion Thread will be started sometime, but the old thread will not be reopened.

I think so. I thought I heard them possibly starting a new thread sometime down the line. But I'm not 100% sure on that. I would like it if we had another thread.

Revised for accuracy.
Well they had the main guy from Virtua Fighter, so I guess it's at least one notable character.

That doesn't mean they couldn't have had Sonic AND those franchises. And what of Jet Set Radio? What of Golden Axe? Of Phantasy Star? So much forgotten behind. And even then, that doesn't excuse Namco and Capcom missing so many characters.

I would have looked at the game if Pac-Man was included. Never did forgive them for that...or for his Street Fighter x Tekken incarnation...Yeah, Namco-Bandai messes up a lot when Pac-Man's involved.

When it was announced I knew then and there characters like Sonic, Pacman and Classic Mega Man would not be included because it was pretty obvious that only characters who are practically similar to everyone else would be included. There was never going to be any mascot like characters.

What about Mega Man's incarnation in SF x T? It was pretty funny, sure, but... ultimately felt insulting.

I didn't think it was that bad. If anything, it was a decent call-back. I just feel like it was a really poorly timed joke. Given all of the bad news the Megaman series has gotten around the time.

Sonic would've overshadowed everyone and would stick out like a sore thumb with the playable cast where everyone is human or humanoid.

Golden Axe actually gets a reference in the form of one of Bruno's attack. Meanwhile, Ulala's attack references like three or four games.

It may not be the fanservice you were wanting, but there is plenty of it. Sega just decided to represent themselves with their lesser known series, Virtua Fighter, Shining Force, Valkyria Chronicles, Resonance of Fate, and particularly Sakura Wars which got two full teams representing that series - a feat no other series performs in the game.

Well, from what I see, there's a list of what have should been a part of the game:

For SEGA:

Sonic the Hedehog (Sonic)
Jet Set Radio (Beat)
Golden Axe (Gillius or anyone else)
Shenmue (Ryo)

For Namco:

Pac-Man
Klonoa
ANYTHING from Soul Calibur (My biggest Namco surprise)

For Capcom:

Okami Amaterasu
Felicia
Viewtiful Joe
Albert Wesker
Less Street Fighter saturation
Give Classic MegaMan at least some acknowledgement
Strider Hiryu
Gene (Godhand)
Lost Planet representation

There's no reason to feel that MegaMan was an insult...seeing as it was an idea from Inafune himself. But hey, at least Inafune didn't ask them to sellout a character that isn't out yet (Mighty Number 9 in Ninja Gaiden)

I didnt have a problem with Pac in SFxT...except for that whole creepy factor and never-ending smile. But other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I even liked the voice actor.

That's actually a very good point. Had the series been floating along normally, I would have probably had no problem with it.

When I heard about it, I thought Beck was only supposed to be a cameo. But he's actually playable in it? A little strange, but not too terrible I suppose. I'm more interested in Mighty No. 9 itself. It seems like even really minor stuff in the platforming has helped it to stand out from Megaman.

The problem I have is that they're already selling out a character whose game isn't even out yet, and the game can ruin his overall image. I mean my God, wasn't the penny pinching goals of Mighty Number 9's Kickstarter enough? People can say that Capcom is a bunch of money loving pigs, but from what I've seen, Inafune's no different.

I'd have no problem with him being a cameo, but it's bizarre to make him playable.

And I can only assume you have a ****ty opinion of just about everyone that makes a Kickstarter for their projects, right?

Smooth Criminal
No, considering I've supported my fair share of Kickstarters over time, especially the one for Shantae: Half Genie Hero, but the goals set by Mighty Number 9 were extremely high and it really felt like Inafune and his group of classic devs were really trying to squeeze everything they could out of their supporters. Also, ****ty opinion? Why is it ****ty? Because it's against your views on the subject? Not a very mature response.

Wait, didn't Inafune leave Capcom?
Though I am excited for Mighty No. 9. Seems promising.
Yes, he left Capcom back in 2011 before everyone and their mother started leaving as well. Inafune left, Seth Killian left, I just hope Ono has the balls to go down with the ship, because he doesn't deserve to just squirm away from the messes he's made.

I felt it was insulting to the fans. The same goes for Megaman. They had plenty to pull from without making them jokes. I don't care that it was obviously seen as fine by Namco and Capcom (respectively). It was insulting to the fans of both characters.

Well, if you saw the troll face, why did you take it seriously?
It annoys me that members use them interchangeably. Not only that, but I wasn't sure if the troll face was pertaining to the joke, or the incorrect use of the term. Haha.

Basically because of one member causing the entire thread to go off topic in a flame-y way. The user is now banned and the thread was locked.
So that is what happened? I wasn't around, it sucks that everybody has to deal with it, they could have just banned that one user. The moment they asserted it wasn't due to one user was the moment I realized it was locked because of one user.

Because I said all of your opinions are ****ty and that you are ****ty overall? Way to blow things outta proportion. But aside from the "astronomical" costs, though, are there any other reasons why you feel Inafune could be likened to a money-grubbing pig? Hopefully I can get a "mature" response outta that one. Oh, and maybe an educated one, too!

Making video games isn't cheap. You should look at the breakdown for the cost of making a single character in Skullgirls.

Kickastarter projects have a bad rep for a reason a lot of them are scams :dr^_^:
That I can agree with.
