Aww lucario again.... Would've loved to see Deoxys representing the 3rd gen, imagine having 4 different forms to choose from!

The movesets are very close and similar i played from N64 version of ssb to brawl itself i know what im saying and i don't want anyone to hown mewtwo and call him a clone to lucario or vice versa thats why i say he is a skin in moves and general idea there both very similar like Fox and wolf

If you think that Lucario is a clone of Mewtwo and Wolf is a clone of Fox, then you have very, very poor judgement skills. Mewtwo is a clone of Mew, obviously.

I still dislike how the majority of the pokemon representation in smash are gen 1 pokemon, i know their iconic and all but is just seems lame that a series that celebrates nintendo's history only really celebrates the first few years of a nearly two decade old franchise. But thats just me

If you think that Lucario is a clone of Mewtwo and Wolf is a clone of Fox, then you have very, very poor judgement skills. Mewtwo is a clone of Mew, obviously.

Well im sure a fan would say that but it's pretty sure lucario is updated version of mewtwo

Very close and similar?! You mean, sharing one or two attacks? Yeah, SO similar. They have completely different mechanics.

Same for Fox and Wolf. Similar specials? Sure, but the A moves, Smash attacks, aerials and grabs are totally different. They have different fighting styles and require different strategies to play.

I'm not even a competitive player and I can see the blatantly obvious differences between the characters.

I like them both myself. But I would imagine having all of Deoxys' forms would be really hard to make space for. I mean the Pokemon Trainer already uses 3 models with 3 movesets. Maybe it won't be as bad if Deoxy's forms only change it's stats.

I actually feel more confident about a Pokemon newcomer thanks to Sakurai's Pokemon criteria that was stated last year.

No. I'm sure many people share that sentiment. I myself feel like we could at least get one more Pokemon from another generation. Granted, it isn't that big of a deal to me. But I understand some of the concern nontheless.

Ahem. Yeah, no, Lucario is certanly not a clone of Mewtwo. They have a few similarities, like their Standard Special, their floatiness and that they both have a 'magic-like' effect with most attacks, but that's about it. Wolf (and Lucas) are also not clones. The only 'clone' in Brawl, would be Toon Link, and he has about 6 unique attacks and requires a very different strategy. ^^

I don't get how anyone thinks he even had a chance before, isn't he from the last gen before X/Y? If they were going to add a new Pokemon, it would be a new Pokemon wouldn't it? We already know gen six will be the center of Pokemon in SSB4 due to that Xerneas pic.

Yeah except gen 6 doesn't really have any viable posterboy pokemon that wouldn't most likely be some kind of final smash for a pre gen 6 pokemon...*coughmegamewtwoYcough*

Besides, it's not like just because there is a new generation, that the previous one will be entirely ignored. Even if it won't get a playable character, I'm sure gen 5 will most probably get at least a boss (if boss battles return) or a stage. Besides pokeball pokemon and trophies etc.

Too bad most people shun the idea of cutting any of the vets for the latter to go over well.

That's pretty much how I felt about Marth's reveal. I simply couldn't find myself to care at all.

Nope, nope... and nope. Mewtwo was intended to be included in Brawl, but time constraints led him to be left out of the roster.

Toon Link is more of a replacement to Young Link than Lucario is one for Mewtwo or Ike is for Roy.

What criteria was that, I must have missed it?

I've noticed that I've grown to become quite an avid Zoroark-supporter, even though I don't really expect any cuts Pokémon-wise (and expect Mewtwo to return as well). A total of six Pokémon-reps might be a bit overboard, especially with PT having three Pokémon, but hopefully Zoroark will be present in the game some way or another.

Unfinished data in Brawl's disc suggests Mewtwo was the closest of the "Forbidden 7" to completion, even having a file for his own victory theme. I believe @---'s sticky post in this board has the information on that.

But ALL his Standard moves are completely unique to him. I really can't see how people can Think he's a clone. That looks more like animation when a character stands close to a ledge, the ones that look like the character is trying to avoid falling off.

Also, i'm starting to think that there will NOT be hidden characters anymore.

I don't know, Rosalina just scream Unlockable to me considering that so far she has been a unlockable character in every game she is playable, yet she was revealed.

If anything, it's the contrary. Lucario and Toon Link were among the most expected characters to be cut and here they are.

I think Sakurai is really trying his hardest to ensure that no character from Brawl gets cut. And maybe Mewtwo will return.
