With the reactions to Lucario's reveal, I'm pretty sure the phrase, "waste of a character slot," is really just people complaining about their favorite characters not getting in and nothing more. Lucario is the farthest from being a waste of a character slot.

1. Lucario is practically a second pikachu at this point.
2. Lucario is important in the pokemon games, (Is the first mega evolved Pokemon for one example).
3. (Regardless of whether it's good or not), Lucario has a unique aura mechanic.

I mean really, I don't care if you think he is over hyped or not, that doesn't stop him from deserving to get into Smash.

Well they kinda did the same thing for King Dedede in the European page too as the page linked to the official Kirby hub instead of a specific Kirby game.

Anyway, reveals are getting much, much faster. In a little over a month (40 days kinda, from 19th December to 31st January) we got 4 characters. And we're probably getting Diddy Kong in a couple of weeks too.

I wonder how many characters are going to be confirmed on release date. 30? Even more? Brawl had 25 if I'm not mistaken, the entire starter roster plus Snake and Sonic.

As a big pokemon fan, I would like to state that I'm not a fan of Lucario. While he is a cool pokemon, I never found anything enthralling about him compared to other pokes. In brawl he was probably one of my least favorite characters due to his controls. I could easily state that there are other pokemon that I would prefer in his position instead.

Having said that, I'm glad that he is returning. Putting bias aside I believe he is one of the more deserving characters to have the smash bro title. Granted I hope PT, Jiggles, and Mewtwo still make it as I prefer them much more; I wouldn't be sour if one them doesn't make it (though I'll be really crushed if PT doesn't). Either way, glad to see him revealed.

It's just possible that Sakurai decided to reveal hidden characters before release and that's it.
I highly doubt there won't be unlockable characters to be honest.

With both him and Toon Link back, the list of plausible "cut characters" is shrinking faster and faster. Makes me confident we'll see no more than two cuts, if any.

Pretty glad Lucario is back. I enjoyed him in Brawl, but he was a bit too slow for me. I'm excited to see where his Mega evolution will come into play in Smash 4. Even though I'm expecting it to be his new Final Smash, I'm hoping he'll get a way to transform in and out of it more freely.

I still hope Mewtwo and Pokemon Trainer are coming back, but assuming they all do, that doesn't really leave room for a new Pokemon rep. Not that Pokemon needs one, but I think it would be nice to see a fresh face.

Eh I'd rather wait for an actual disconfirmation. Such as Zoroark appearing as a Pokeball Pokemon or in the background of a Pokemon stage or whatever before I jump into any conclusions, instead of the mere existence of Lucario, it's not like the two of them can't coexist. :/

Only two moves were really similar though. Every thing else was different.

Zoroark was meant to be the "new Lucario," but didn't he fail spectacularly in that regard? GameFreak knew to stop pushing him and fall back on Lucario, anyway.

As for gen six, all they would need is to use one of the more humanoid Pokemon, maybe Hawlucha or Goodra...

I'm pretty sure we'll just have Pikachu, Trainer, Mewtwo, Lucario, and Jiggs though.

The movesets are very close and similar i played from N64 version of ssb to brawl itself i know what im saying and i don't want anyone to hown mewtwo and call him a clone to lucario or vice versa thats why i say he is a skin in moves and general idea there both very similar like Fox and wolf
