Just about everything on that is comparable to other moves, or has been done before.
This Toad moveset, playstyle, and skillset build doesn't add anything that we don't already have, and serves no purpose sans as a late addition clone.
But hey, no worries.
There were good moves, and that was far better than the dozen or so other Toad movesets I've seen, so you get an "A" in the effort category.
I could be wrong, but eh, I can't visualize it being too exciting or too impressive.
Happy Birthday bro.Yeah, today wasn't anything too special... but I really love how expressive the screenshots can really get. Much more than Brawl ever did.
Arcadenik: I think if anyone would become unique it's the Link in the newest games, meanwhile Tink might always stay as the (better) traditional one for some reason. But ah well.
(BTW today's my birthday)
Solid Snake lays traps bro. What other smash character lays traps to set them off?
I mean really, which character does that?
I was somewhat inspired by Sackboy in PSAS, I wanted some of that except reasonable. I don't know of any other character with a playstyle that would really work that way.
Shhh... we are not supposed to remind black people that their faces resemble monkeys.Donkey Kong's blank face reminds me of this:
Solid Snake lays traps bro.
Don't worry about the whole "not adding anything new" problem. A bunch of newcomers from Brawl didn't add anything new anyway excluding Diddy and Snake. Too much to name though. That was one of the main problems in brawl (And the main gripe of the MYMers against it I think other than the generic-ness of the movesets)
Actually, with C4s and Land mines plus with the use of grenades, I think Snake is (Well at the least, half of his playstyle because he's actually a camper in general) mostly a trapper type.Yeah but I don't think his playstyle is entirely related to trap placement and execution.

Sorry. If you want a character who strikes a pose to attack, Wii Fit Trainer got datSnake is a big smelly pooper pants!
Maybe I'll just mod Brawl for him or something so people can try him
As a side note, Waluigi fans, why don't you ever mention Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix? The one game Waluigi was the main villian. He could have a bunch of attacks as dance moves man, how badass!
Not bad! I like all the little button icons a lot. I should mine more colorful...Sorry. If you want a character who strikes a pose to attack, Wii Fit Trainer got dat
And Snake ain't a pooper pant. He's awesome and not lame.
Anyway........
The power of boredom strengthens me to do tasks such as these

Introduction:
Toad (Also known as Kinopio) is one of the main protagonists in the Mario series. Just like Yoshi, he is a singular character from the other toads. His debut started out with Super Mario bros. which became famous world wide then he was one of the playable characters in Super Mario bros. 2. He's been a tutorial type character and item keeper since Super Mario Bros. 3 until Super Mario Sunshine. In Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, he is the trusty Toad Brigade captain (Wearing a red vest) who guides and helps Mario in the quest to gather the power stars and to save Princess Peach. He becomes a playable character in New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Blue Toad and Yellow Toad) and in New Super Mario Bros. Mii. He also appears in Luigi's Mansion 2 as a companion to Luigi through out the adventure. He's also appeared in various spin off titles in Mario plus he had his own game, Wario's Woods, where in he was the main protagonist. Toad is known for being important and iconic to the series along with Mario, Luigi, Peach, Wario, Bowser, Yoshi and Donkey Kong despite his roles compared to the other 7. He's been one of the most celebrated characters in Mario's 25th anniversary.
Stats:
Toad is known for his quick speed and superhuman strength that surpasses even Mario and Luigi's! In fact, Toad is really fast and he's been known for that since Mario Bros 2 so his dash speed is as fast as Fox's dash speed. He's also swift in the air like Wario. Unfortunately, his size and weight make him easy to KO and also decreases his overall range. It also means that he's a bad jumper possessing a jump height as low as Snake's. Despite being light, Toad falls fast but that can be used to his advantage (But it's still a disadvantage when it comes to recovering).
+ Powerful and quick attacks (Pretty much everything but his F-air and F-smash)
+ Fantastic rush down game (Side special variations, Neutral special, Aerials)
+ Has several ways of getting around planted or shot projectiles (Side special yet again)
+ Very mobile character (On par with the most mobile characters in the game)
+ Great run away options (Neutral special, Side special when facing away from enemies, Aerials)
+ Great aerials (High damage output)
+ Hard to hit (Mobility and size)
+/- Fast falling speed (Can be used for combos but recovering may be a problem)
- Short ranged (Pretty much most of his attacks)
- Low priority
- Easy to KO (Lightweight)
- One slip up can hurt really bad
- Side B might be a bit hard to use (Notably the squirrel suit)
- Lack of defense (Small shield, only one GTFO)
- Has trouble getting around characters with good melee range (Marth)

Wall run : Yes (While clinging, move the control stick at any direction (Depending on where you are clinging on) to run on the wall - Wario Woods, you have the ability to run on walls.
Third jump (Not Up B) : Toad's third jump will be a Flutter Jump - Inspired from Toad Jump, a mini game from Super Princess Peach. Toad flails in the air to try and keep up in the air. However unlike Yoshi's, you must mash the jump button to keep him in the air longer, this can allow him to somewhat float like Peach as well if short hopped into and pressed mashed rapidly. The mashing is supposed to resemble having to blow air into the microphone to make him jump in the mini game. *Credit to Capp*

As for the KO %, assume the enemy does not DI and the weight of the enemy is the same as Mario's.
SpecialsNeutral special : Mushroom chargeToad pulls out a can of mushroom boosts and consumes it. Drinking a charge of mushroom increases the damage of spore emit. The drink can be consumed for about 3 seconds. Within each second, Toad's damage output on all of his attacks (Including each hit of an attack) is increased by 2% and it also increases Toad's running speed and walking speed by .5 a stage block/sec. You cannot recharging your mushroom charge after cancelling it (Which is something do-able with Donkey Kong's Wind-up punch special). The effects of mushroom charge last for 10 seconds. Using spore emit ends the bonus effects of mushroom chargeNeutral special (When charged) : Spore emitToad emits spores around him that deal 10-25% damage. Each second of spore charge increases the damage of spore emit by 5% and it also increases the radius of spore emit by 1 block. An uncharged spore emit KO's at around 145%. When spore emit is charged for a second, its KO potential ranges at around125%. When it is charged for 2 seconds, it's capable of KO'ing at 119%. A fully charged spore emit KO's at around 109%. Spore emit has very high priority capable of neutralizing projectiles without it being interrupted. The start up of the attack is extremely non-existent but the ending lag of this attack is moderate. Using this in air and fast falling to the ground is a good way to mitigate the moderate ending lag- Toad's first ever attack ability (Not this one, I meant the spore emit. Sakurai made it. No, he didn't force it. Lol.)Down special : Item swapToad jumps on a ? pad and receives a new item. It takes .94 seconds for Toad to perform this ability (In other words, when it's channeled). Toad can cycle between the following items in order : Penguin suit --> Super acorn --> Cat bell. Note that in the start of a match, Toad starts with the Penguin suit. These items have their own special functions that are used via forward special.-I guess I ought to give these to Toad for a reason. His first playable appearance in the seventh gen (Wii) is in NSMB Wii thus the Penguin suit. He's also playable in NSMB Wii U so yeah, super acorn it is. AND HE IS PLAYABLE IN SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD. The end.Forward special : Item useToad uses the item currently equipped. When equipped with the penguin suit, Toad falls on the ground and slides forward dealing 9% damage while tripping the foe. This attack puts Toad in a position such that his hurt box is low enough to dodge projectiles as high as Wolf's laser fire. Low priority attack. When equipped with the super acorn, Toad flies upward and glides forward. Pressing B will make Toad perform a diagonal forward nosedive for around 1.5 a block then after doing that, Toad rises (A bit of some forward gliding for about 1/2 a block) at a height adjacent to his height from the ground before using the attack. The hitbox of this attack lingers during the nosediving and the rising phase. The B button attack has low priority and it deals 15% damage. It lso pops enemies into the air for a set knockback distance. Pressing A will ensue a dive kick that deals 11% damage (And it will also bounce Toad backward to the air) plus, it's one of Toad's few high priority moves. With the cat bell, Toad leaps forward claws first dealing 11% damage applying high hitsun. Pressing A while leaping forward will prompt Toad to leap upwards and pounce downwards to the foe similar to the attack you can do as a cat in the SM3DWorld Trailer. It deals 12% damage and it can KO at around 123%. Both A button and B button attacks have low priority- Look at the downward special sectionUpward special : Super jumpToad crouches (Or remains in infant position in mid air) then jumps. Rising part of the attack deals 16% damage and is capable of KO'ing at around 118%. This attack has low priority and its only purpose is to be used as a recover. No **** sherlockStandard attacks
- Toad swings his head forward and backward dealing 8% damage each. Fairly quick and powerful attack with decent range and priority.
Dash- Toad pulls out a bomb and runs for about 2 stage blocks (Speed of this is 2 blocks a second). If Toad is left running then he'll drop the bomb at the location which deals 6% damage and leave it to detonate. The bomb detonates in 5 seconds. If the A button is pressed, the bomb will explode dealing 14% damage (Can KO at 123%).
Forward- Toad thrusts himself forward dealing 13% damage KOing at 117%. Minimal start up but the ending lag is sluggish. Although, you can cancel the ending lag with another tilt attack other than the forward tilt. Good way to use this move is to follow it up with downward tilt.
Downward- Toad performs a quick tackle that deals 7% damage. KO potential is negligible but this attack is spammable due to its minimal start up and ending lag. Low priority attack. Should only be used for shield poking or pressuring.
Upward- Toad jumps 1.5 blocks upward dealing 14% damage KOing at 120%. Lightning quick start up and ending lag. This attack leaves Toad in mid-air.
Smash attacks
Forward+- Toad spits out spores in front of him dealing 16-25% damage. Moderately slow start up but the ending lag is quick. Priority of the attack acts the same as spore emit. Can KO at 116%. This attack is strictly used for only the kill or for ending combos at the least but be wary of the start up.
Upward+- Toad sprouts a mushroom in front of him dealing 12-19% damage. KO's at 124%. Very quick attack that can be used as a surprise combo starter or a weak KO attack. The mushroom cannot be mitigated and it absorbs projectiles.
Downward+- Toad summons 2 mushrooms that spiral around him for a second. The sweetspot is the initial hitboxes of the spinning mushrooms dealing 14-23% damage. KO's at around 118%. The attack can be sourspotted if it hits any foe after staying out for a little while dealing 5-10% damage. The mushrooms, as usual, can absorb projectiles and cannot be mitigated. Great for GTFO situations and run aways.
Aerial attacks- Toad stretches his limbs out dealing 14% damage. The range on this is abysmal but it has surprisingly good priority. Despite the damage, the KO% is pretty high. It can KO at 130%. The knockback of this attack is fairly low but that's because it's made from racking up damage.
Backward- Toad leans backward dealing 16% damage KOing at 116%. Sourspotting it will only damage 10% and it KOs at 134. Non-existent priority considering it's a sex kick.
Forward- Toad bangs his head downward dealing 19% damage. Holy snap. The start up and ending lag is moderately fast. This attack his good range and high priority. It can also meteor smash.
Downward- Toad performs a butt stomp dealing 18% damage. Successfully landing a butt stomp will result to Toad bouncing of the foe. This attack will ALWAYS meteor smash regardless of when it hits. It has a lightning fast start up and fast ending lag.
Upward- Toad butts his head upward dealing 17% damage. This attack KOs at 134%. Yeah, it has weak knockback but it has incredibly good range (Hitbox arcs on of top back to front of his body) and high priority.[/collapse]

It really depends on how the roster turns out. If Mewtwo, Mega Man and Little Macturns out to be the only popular characters included and we were to lose Lucario, Ike (and be replaced by a semi-clone Chrom), Snake and Sonic, then I can see why many people would be demotivated to play the game or at least be very disappointed by the roster outcome. Of course characters are not the only thing to consider, but the original Smash throws in our face that the main purpose of a Smash game is to play as your favorite Nintendo characters, so it is not hard to see why people get emotional over the roster. Not even sure why people are upset over characters at this point. Not like we have many to choose from, and it's looking like we won't see too many characters leave. Not really a big deal.
I kinda upsets me how many people don't buy the game because they don't like the whole roster. Find the characters you do like and stick with them. Unless you don't like anyone, in which that doesn't work.It really depends on how the roster turns out. A lot what I've thought lately and why I can sympathize with people getting rather low hopes on the roster. WFT made sense but we had to all admit she was kinda outlandish. I just wish they won't overdo it on this installment because then I'd believe they're now scraping bottom of the barrel instead of bringing us unique characters along with popular wishes all around the world.
But it's not like any Smash-game has done that before, so we could still keep some hope up on seeing a really hypeable character.
*pats shoulder* There, there. He probably copied you anyway. You're like the Jango to his Boba.But... But what about mine!
*runs off and cries in a corner*
No 'ffense but.....*pats shoulder* There, there. He probably copied you anyway. You're like the Jango to his Boba.
Wait a minute.... I remember that anime....people in general often base their expectations on how a game or a product in general will turn out on their personal desires
that's why you have a lot of people talking about, "oh they didn't do this, oh they did this, they must not care about their fanbase/only care about the money/must be stupid"
if a few things happen with the game that don't align with what they want, it kinda makes them skeptical about what the game will actually be like, and thus question even wanting to buy it
That's what arcade was asking about. Where did that come from? HeheSakurai seems to think that..
But sometimes it really is the unexpected characters that shine over popular wishes. I can say the slightly more obscure characters I see offered up by fans tend to have WAY cooler movesets and history to work with. But that's just me.
Looks great!Toad's moveset
Seriously some interesting stuff. Gotta think about thisLooks great!
I would like Toad to get some moves from SMB2 and NSMB games... maybe Smash Up+A could have Toad pulling out a coin... and that coin spins in the air briefly as it travels up and down... hitting opponents... hey, if Villager can turn pulling weeds into a move, then why not Toad pulling coins?
And maybe Aerial Down+A could have Toad doing a generic ground pound (you know, like Sonic's and Toon Link's Aerial Down+A moves?) like Yoshi's Down+B move.
But Toad's Down+B could have Toad doing a ground pound BUT if he lands on the opponent, he picks them up like in SMB2, NSMB games, and Wario's Woods.
Toad's neutral Aerial move could have Toad spin jump like when you shake the Wiimote to make characters spin jump in NSMB games... that could be Toad's variation of Mario Tornado.
Toad's Side Special could have Toad turning into Flying Squirrel Toad (via Super Acorn) so he can glide horizontally. If Toad collides with an opponent, he clings onto them and then leaps away... kinda like Captain Falcon's Up Special move... Toad can then do other moves after jumping off the opponent.
Toad's Up Special could have Toad turning into Propeller Toad (via Propeller Mushroom) so he can fly upward and then float back down... kinda like Peach's Up Special move... but Toad can drill down if you press Down+A while he is floating.
Toad's Final Smash could have him calling Wanda for help... and then Wanda conjures colorful bombs to rain on the stage... just like in Wario's Woods.
B - Iceball (Ice Flower)
Side+B - Flying Squirrel (Super Acorn)
Up+B - Propeller (Propeller Mushroom)
Down+B - Pick Up (SMB2)
Final Smash - Wanda's Bombs (Wario's Woods)
Whatever article existed was with the old usergroups. That's what arcade was asking about. Where did that come from? Hehe
Ssshhh. Your moveset is perfection. Don't let the non-believers sway you to their side.Seriously some interesting stuff. Gotta think about this
