Okay guys, working on a fun personal project and I need some opinions from you guys (and I just love seeing what people think about these things).

Remember me mentioning the fact that Smash 64 could have "technically" held almost the entire cast of Brawl as they had already been created?

Alright, I have 4 spots. Fill em up! Which characters would you put in?

Remember, all of Brawl's cast can't be used (so Bowser, Peach, Pit, planned but canceled characters for Smash 64 are already in)

Also to note: No Mewtwo or Meowth. I already have them covered as well as a second Fire Emblem rep.

SO! Within these parameters, give me 4 characters that existed in the era of the N64 on back you'd put in Smash!
Sabure Prince, Muddy Mole, Geno, and Lip?

Adeline (Kirby 64), Dragonite (Pokemon Red/Blue), Toad (Super Mario 64), and Young Link ( Zelda: Majora's Mask).

If the 64 rule wasn't present, Victini would of been an excellent addition.

And maybe Aerial Down+A could have Toad doing a generic ground pound (you know, like Sonic's and Toon Link's Aerial Down+A moves?) like Yoshi's Down+B move.

But Toad's Down+B could have Toad doing a ground pound BUT if he lands on the opponent, he picks them up like in SMB2, NSMB games, and Wario's Woods.
I just realized something I didn't notice before...

My suggestions for Toad's Aerial Down+A and Down+B both have Toad doing ground pounds like Yoshi's Down+B but both inputs have different outcomes... so this could be like playing mind games with human players.

Opponents don't know what Toad is going to do... is he going to knock them off with a generic ground pound? Or is he going to grab them in midair? I think it would depend on the situation...

4 characters?

If we were choosing 4 characters that weren't in Smash but should be I would have picked Dedede, Mewtwo, Bowser and Pit

4 non-Brawl characters I would choose Blastoise, Geno, Sukapon, and K. Rool/ Ridley

I don't see how Mega Man goes with Peach just because someone drew a picture of it

@Capps: Ridley, King K. Rool, Little Mac and Takamaru.
@AuraSage94: Never again post Mega Man x Peach. Robots and humans do not mesh well.

Oh lol, okay.

Then Tingle, Toad, and K. Rool, who have existing N64 models.
Tingle didn't exist before 1999 for Majora's Mask came out in 2000. Also, Donkey Kong 64 didn't come out till after Smash 64 came out so there wasn't a King K. Rool model yet.

Donkey Kong Jr. (he was Donkey Kong's main sidekick throughout the 1990's when Diddy Kong was still owned by Rare... Super Mario Kart in 1992, Donkey Kong (GB) in 1994, and Mario's Tennis in 1995)

Gooey (he was relevant in the Kirby series in the 1990's... Kirby's Dream Land 2 in 1995 and Kirby's Dream Land 3 in 1997/98)

Little Mac (his series wasn't retro back then... Super Punch-Out!! just came out in North America in 1994 and in Japan in 1998)

Toad (he was not "not violent enough" during the 1990's... Super Mario All-Stars in 1993 and Wario's Woods in 1994/95)

Here you go Arca
[Collapse="Downward tilt change : Coin"]
Downward
- Toad pulls out a coin that rises up by 1.25 blocks and bounces forth by 4 blocks in 6 seconds. This can be neutralized by projectiles ONLY and it can be reflected. Can be used for set ups due to its long lasting duration.
[/collapse]
[collapse="Neutral air follow up"]
- Toad stretches his limbs out dealing 14% damage. The range on this is abysmal but it has surprisingly good priority. Despite the damage, the KO% is pretty high. It can KO at 130%. The knockback of this attack is fairly low but that's because it's made from racking up damage. In addition, pressing
again will make Toad spin dealing 12% damage in 3 hits. This CANNOT KO.[/collapse]
[collapse="Down air follow up"]
Downward
- Toad performs a butt stomp dealing 18% damage. Successfully landing a butt stomp will result to Toad bouncing of the foe. This attack will ALWAYS meteor smash regardless of when it hits. It has a lightning fast start up and fast ending lag. Pressing
again will make Toad switch to head first being unable to meteor smash but it has good horizontal knockback. Deals 15% damage. Low priority but lightning fast start up (Ignore the sluggish 2nd picture herp derp). Landing on the ground with the head dive is extremely punishable.[/collapse]
[collapse="New description for penguin suit function"]When equipped with the penguin suit, Toad falls on the ground and slides forward dealing 9% damagewhile tripping the foe. This attack puts Toad in a position such that his hurt box is low enough to dodge projectiles as high as Wolf's laser fire and even some high to mid hitting attacks like Mario's first and second jab attack. Low priority attack. Pressing A will make Toad fire an ice ball that travels for 5 blocks in 8 seconds. Deals 11% damage and has projectile priority. Ice ball applies high hitsun and it doesn't bounce as much as the fire ball. It can travel low very well.[/collapse]
[collapse="New description for cat bell function"]With the cat bell, Toad leaps forward claws first dealing 11% damage applying high hitsun. Pressing A while leaping forward will prompt Toad to leap upwards and pounce downwards to the foe similar to the attack you can do as a cat in the SM3DWorld Trailer. It 's a grab that deals 12% damage and it can KO at around 123%. Claw attack has medium high priority (Claw blur visuals) and pounce has low priority[/collapse]
[collapse="grabs"]
Grabs

Toad can grab in mid-air and ground. You can make him lunge forward, backward, upward and downward twice. Doing it once won't render Toad helpless but doing it twice will make Toad helpless.

Pummel : Headbutt

Toad quickly headbutts the enemy dealing 3% damage

Forward Grab : Heavy Headbutt

Toad delivers a strong headbutt that stuns the enemy. It deals 10% damage.

This is like She-Hulk's command grab where she grabs the opponent, punching them into stun to set up a combo or KO move. This would be a high risk : high reward move thanks to shield dodging, but getting the opponent to endure pressure, make him afraid to leave, or waiting for him to shield dodge and catching him on the recovery make it easier.

Backward throw : Drop kick

Toad throws the enemy backwards and kicks him away! Deals 10% damage.

Upward throw : Headbutt upward

Toad uses the back of his head and hits the enemy upwards. Deals 9% damage.

Downward throw : Carry

Toad carries the enemy around. He can throw the enemy which deals 8% damage.

Origin: Was used by Toad in Super Mario Bros. 2, Wario woods and NSMB Wii.[/collapse]

I don't see how Mega Man goes with Peach just because someone drew a picture of it
That's not exactly it. Through the Smash Bros. Series, many duos, be it friend, foe, etc., have always made me wonder what kind of relationship they would have if they were paired from the start. It also makes me wonder what kind of relationship they could have in the Smash Bros. cutscenes. If you look at things from a different angle instead of just assuming the outcome, you'll find yourself noticing things that spark creativity, possibilities, etc..

Of course, Megaman isn't the heroic plumber Peach sees as a hero, but looking back and thinking how it could end up if Megaman was Peach sees's hero can basically create a roughdraft of what kind of relationship they'll have in Smash Bros. That's why I knew Marth and Meta Knight would have a rival-llike partnership in Brawl. Of course, that's how I round Relationships in Smash Bros.

@AuraSage94: Never again post Mega Man x Peach. Robots and humans do not mesh well.
It's not exactly the worst pairing. Trust me.

Read the above response to get better understanding of what I meant by relationship.

K. Rool, Geno, Banjo-Kazooie, and Omastar (not actually).

To better illustrate what I meant about Toad...

THE Toad is Toad. Blue Toad is Toad. Yellow Toad is Toad. Every A Toad is Toad!

:awesome:
All these years later and that episode still kills me.

So, after some thinking, I decided to reunite with Mega Lucario. Here's why: at the current point in time, Cave story representation in Smash Bros 4 is very slim. No matter how I try to look at it, a 3rd party character that isn't Sonic or A Namco character is pretty much not being introduced.

For Cave Story representation to occur, it would have to have a bigger gaming history or some sort of bigger importance. Therefore, I'm throwing in the towel and my #1 hope for playable character is Lucario once more.

I also want to add you guys something- Whats the .BB code for posting pictures from a website? I have a new signature that I want to post, but I can't seem to find the image post button.
