I doubt the roster is 100% finished, but it is probably close to that.

Also, what was done with Sonic will hopefully never be done again. Hopefully instead the development team decides to DLC that up to make it more fully fleshed out. Also, it would be way cooler if we just got more characters via DLC. I know Brawl would have had a much more "complete" roster if at least Mewtwo (and maybe Roy) returned.

I know what he meant. I'm just adding that doesn't mean that everyone Sakurai decided upon will get in, as the "Forbidden Seven," particularly Mewtwo, may have shown us.

The idea that EARTHBOUND, an irrelevant and obscure RPG series released only in Japan, and FIRE EMBLEM, an also irrelevant and obscure RPG series that was originally only released in Japan, gets priority over METROID, a long-running flagship title series for Nintendo... IT'S INSULTING! And no, I'm not trying to offend any Earthbound or Fire Emblem fans, I respect their opinions for their beloved games. Everybody has a right to which games they like. I'm just saying that you'd think Metroid would have more priority than those two series, especially when you compare the impact to Nintendo. It's like Donkey Kong get shafted constantly and constantly over Pikmin and Ice Climbers.

My hopes aren't up just yet... I'm still banking on this petition, WHICH NEEDS ALL YOUR GUYS' SUPPORT, in order to convince Sakurai of Ridley's worth. Otherwis, I'm with ChronoBound in that if Ridley DOES NOT make an appearance for this upcoming title, then Sakurai and Smash have truly gone to the garbage.

Nah, barely anyone cares about ROB, especially after his moveset, playstyle, and skillset sucked in Brawl, and he was basically just a generic robot character, which other fighting games have done a lot better.

Really, ROB is probably the Brawl playable character that if he was cut, the least amount of people would care. Literally no one bought the game for ROB. He added virtually nothing but camping, boring matches, and projectile spamming.

Not to say that this can't be fixed (Pit had similar problems, along with the most annoying voice actor in a Nintendo game I can remember), but the ROB we saw in Brawl was just a giant failure IMO, and honestly, ROB's potential is very limited, like all generic robot fighting game characters, because ROB literally has no previous moves to draw upon, and few generic robot fight game characters really ever "clicked."

For gameplay and importance issues, as well as more moveset potential yeah I'd replace Sheik for Impa, easily. Not the topic though.

I didn't give up on Ness back then. And supported Lucas before he was revealed even. I never wanted ROB, nor supported him. But looking back, it's probably true I would ROB because of there being enemy ROBs in SSE. Then again, there where multiple ROBs already shown so it's not comparable with Ridley now. ROB being the Ancient Minister and a SSE important character made sence in the end. This, really doesn't.

Samus is based of Other M. So it this stage. Ridley, if appearing as a stage obstacle, will look like his Other M self to. What will playable Ridley look like then? And would he be so extremely different from stage hazard Ridley? You're comparing that to a 8bit Donkey Kong on a 8but remodelled stage. Actual DK looks weird as **** on it, so does this 3D composite Link next to Spirit Tracks Toon Link. These Ridleys would look quite alike. And if they don't that would even be weirder. As Samus is also Other M based, and looks more natural next to Other M Ridley.

Unless he's a stage hazard that needs to be beaten on stage, as a sort of boss fight, AND THEN becomes playable after? I think this is the best you can hope for now. It'll be Other M Ridley anyway. And he's most suitable for a fighter model. So at worst, PSA hacks could make him work. And replace Miss Fit if you're really angry.

Combined stage hazard with boss fight to an actual character unlock would be wickedly awesome though. And if Sakurai's earlier comments about improving 1 Player mode is true, then this could be such a thing. Maybe other characters would be unlocked to this way? Maybe Mewtwo or K.Rool are unlocked similary? On Pokémon Stadium and Gangplank Galleon stages perhaps?

Maybe other characters also make stage hazard cameos? Could see it happen with Bowser Jr. in the Koopa Kar, then challenge him 1vs 1. Very simple. Yet Ridley's battle could be more complex. And K.Rool basically could be inspired by DKC1. Mewtwo could be a Boss Battle to, in his Awakening form, but you unlock him in regular form? Heck, do the same with Lucario. And battle all Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon, give him 3 extra Pokémon like Snorlax, Espeon / Umbreon and a legendary like ???.

Am not seeing it as likely, but hope is apperantly needed so...

I'm just saying, what else is there to draw inspiration for ROB from=??? Even Project M's crew couldn't make ROB totally balls to the wall fun, although at least that version of ROB added something.

I mean, with Fox, he took all his moves from science fiction and Arwing and Landmaster moves. With Captain Falcon, he's like a super cool Power Rangers character. With Mario, he's basically Mario from platform games mixed with Ryu from Street Fighter.

You don't have a similarly successful DNA or inspiration with ROB to draw upon, especially since his move pool is so small, and, again, because in fighting games such robotic characters rarely work, and are often generic.

So... by your logic, Martin Luther King Jr. should have just stopped supporting civil rights for black people because they didn't get rights during his lifetime (I'm white, by the way, not black, so don't say I'm racist bringing this up, I'm not, I'm just bringing up a point). Or we can go further. Why not just tell anybody using petitions to just MOVE ON, whether they're fighting against something morally wrong or something, why not just tell them to MOVE ON... Because righteous morally-good people who use petitions (like fighting for women's rights, or defunding Obamacare) want to fight and rebel against the machine complex of the intolerant injustice of their times, especially if it's done by the higher powers of authority controlling these injustices. Like corrupted politicians, they control the cogs of the machine complex to use injustice to their power, like NAACP or Nintendo of America. In this case, it's Sakurai's egomanaical intolerance for Ridley (and Metroid for that matter...) that needs to be stopped, because this way of thinking is outdated. I know it's a bit overexaggerrated, and I don't want to get political, but I'm only using this as an example of my point that I'm making.

We just need to convince Sakurai that he is wrong in this instance, because as somebody said before, Sakurai and the Smash games ARE NOT PERFECT and are PRONE TO MISTAKES. This is one of them. Sakurai IS NOT a GOD we should all worship everything he does, enough if it's wrong,... instead, as all politicians, he should be questioned for his actions if they go against the public's interests. That's why I started this petition - to fight the injustice of Ridley's inequality and the prejudice of Metroid series as a whole by Sakurai.
