OOOOooh now I remember who Deity is. The gay guy or something about gays whatever.
I was complaining about the obvious homosexual agenda that's running through these threads, yet my opinion was silenced on it (I was even BANNED) because of what was deemed as "homophobic" comments against homosexuals. Whatever.

What do you think they'll do for a new Sonic stage? I could see them throwing in City Escape in all honesty, its practically the Green Hill Zone of the 3-D series, even if Emerald Coast came before it.
Sonic game? Just remake Sonic Adventure 1 or 2 with more stuff for the Chao's.

Think of it, Chao adventure 3: Who needs Sonic?

I'd personally be rooting for either Chemical Plant Zone or Stardust Speedway: Bad Future, but... it could be anything in terms of if there is a Sonic Stage... <8//(

Not to assume, but it would have to be somewhere just as Iconic as Green Hill Zone that anyone who could even hear of Sonic the Hedgehog could have heard of, or at least anyone who plays video games that knows of him... City Escape would be a neat choice indeed!

...I think you are overreacting to the impact Snake had on the direction of the art and visuals in Brawl.
You need to remember that art direction is a very serious aspect of this series. Sakurai has repeatedly expressed how difficult -- almost impossible -- it is to take a character from so many various series and throw them together you need uniformity that binds them all together. Otherwise you end up with something like Playstation All-Stars where there is no consistency. Solid Snake is already such a jarring contrast in the game before, but now that rift is even wider with the design seemingly focused more on color. Yeah, Sakurai could always just shade him, but when I know Sakurai has discussed Solid Snake's role in Brawl's character design I just don't buy him doing that.

I'm glad they actually made a new Pikmin stage for Smash 4. (well, not new as in Smash 4 only and not Pikmin 3, but new as in they actually seemed to recreate a Pikmin 3 map for that game)
Agreed. The graphics on that stage look incredible, and hopefully the stage is equally as amazing.

Homosexual agenda?

What homosexual agenda?

(This'll be good.)

Chemical Plant Zone would be amazing too, it would be right out of my childhood. My first video game I ever played was Sonic the Hedgehog 2 matter of fact, followed shortly by Mario 3 haha.

Stardust Speedway would also be pretty neato.

Actually... forget about what I said about how things need to be Iconic... that is, it definetly helps in the success of the game, but now that I think about it, In Smash Bros, outside of what the game NEEDS in every department possible, anything goes...

Solid Snake is not much more jarring than Samus. Samus was turned into a more "cartoony friendly" style by having a more "smooth" rather than "bright" armor.

Snake can be done the same way. Heck, Metal Gear Acid is proof that Snake could also be a totally cel-shaded character and still look good.

I'll personally be a bit disappointed if there aren't any hazards at all though, or at least some creatures from Pikmin 3 in the backround. (that are actually animated, unlike in Distant Planet)

Though, I'll also be disappointed if the hazards, by some chance are very random and deadly.

Would personally prefer to see Casino Night Zone, Sky Sanctuary Zone, City Escape, or Planet Wisp. I do remember making a stage concept for City Escape at one point as well. Really whatever works best visually with the brighter color pallet and that it adds something new background/layout/hazard wise.

Also wouldn't be surprised if we got Green Hill Zone "Act 2" being based on the version from Sonic Generations.

EDIT: Music wise, I'd like to see Chemical Plant Zone.

Love these choices. Casino Night Zone, Sky Sanctuary Zone, Emerald Hill Zone, Angel Island Zone, Emerald Coast, and City Escape would all be great stages as well.

Man, why can't we have all these Sonic stages=??? :(

I've asked it on the Roster Prediction thread, but not here.

Alright, reaction question time!

Every class from Team Fortress 2 gets in Smash 4. How would you react?

Maaaan, you just made me start listening to the Generations Credits Medley again lol. Also Modern Green Hill Zone? That's actually a pretty cool idea too.. Why can't we have more then one Sonic staaaage haha.

I could also list off like, Lava Reef, Rooftop Run, Music Plant.. Millions of others.. Well not millions but you get my drift! My Sonic Drift even!

Truth be told I wouldn't mind some small hazards or interferences, but nothing gigantic (again).

It would also be cool if it had some weather or season changes on the stage as well.

Music wise I just want all the songs! :awesome:

To sum it all up: Sonic has too many good potential new stages and has a gigantic catalog of great music choices.

All I wish for is for a Flashman theme remix, maybe a curveball track from Megaman and Bass like King's Castle
I'd also add the Snake Man theme, the Metal Man theme, the Cut Man theme, several Wily Fortress 1 remixes, Wily Fortress 1 from Mega Man 3 and Mega Man 10, the Megan Man 7 Opening stage theme, etc. etc. etc. Pretty much Mega Man just has lots of epic music.

Good thing I imported the soundtrack.

Am definitely going to be surprised if it's not a location from one of the sixteen levels that appeared in either version of Generations bar Sonic Lost World.

Yeah, also that robot museum theme in Megaman 7 would be cool to hear again, since it was practically a medley of 3 Robot Master themes.

I have the strange feeling the powers Megaman has in Smash could just be some of our stage music choices too.

I'm all for Casino NIght Zone being a stage. Always liked the idea of it being the next Sonic stage should Sonic get another one.

Also Rid... never mind, bad topic.

I don't know if anyone here watches Retsupurae, but Ted from Ambition should totally be a character. He'd blow everyone all to hell

As a side thought, I wonder how they'll tackle a Mega Man stage in the 3DS version? If they're having trouble with Brawl stages, I wouldn't expect them to just port Wily's Castle off of the Wii U version.

Also no one say anything about customizable music, after the drama today lets see how long we can keep this stage/music discussion going.

Casino Night Zone, my Mothers personal favorite stage [other then Oil Ocean] from when we used to play Sonic 2 all the time. I do have fond memories of it, I wouldn't mind it as a new Sonic stage.

It's a good and bad thing. Good because we could be treated to some really great yet underrated tunes from Mega Man 7; bad because Mega Man 9 and 10 would get left out. Here's hoping all games get at least one song.

I guess that makes some sense, though I doubt the art style of the entire game(s) would depend upon just one character. Personally though, I do feel that Snake could fit into the new pallet.
...The big problem, though, comes from the idea of trying to get characters from a completely different universe to fit with the style that has been dictated by Nintendo's characters in a fighting game. 1
Moving on to the game's graphics, Sakurai's big question to answer was how the team would unify the world view. Brawl has many different characters from a variety of series, and they must all fit in the Brawl world. He also had to consider all the extra aesthetic details that could be added to characters because of the Wii's extra power, which would make the differences in character design stand out even more. "If we had Bugs Bunny fighting against a photo-realistic character, the result would be unnatural and visually disruptive," giving an example of the problem. 2

Minor side note: I noticed digging through the post Brawl reveal trailer discussion Eurogamer had with Sakurai and Miyamoto that Sakurai was already bringing up Sonic from the very start. I've heard it stated Sakurai wanted to have Sonic in Brawl from the very start, and the only reason he was added so late is because Sega initially rejected Sakurai's request at first, only to later change their mind. Thankfully Capcom was smart enough to let Sakurai handle Megaman from the get go.

Honestly, I wonder what stage Sonic we could/would get on Smash 3DS. Something from Sonic Advance, Sonic CD, etc would be a nice touch IMO.

I also wonder what Mega Man stage we'll get on Smash 3DS. I mean really, what stage from what area from what game would we get a stage=??? I mean, I don't see a Game Boy Mega Man game or Mega Man & Bass game getting a stage, so that leaves the doors WIDE OPEN for just about any stage from Mega Man, specifically from Mega Man 1, 2, and 3... as well as the Robot Museum.

Thankfully as mentioned in this Sonic Lost World interview http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/interview/34730

Nintendo calls the shots if Sonic is gonna be there.

"All we can say is that we also think it would be awesome if he was in the next Smash Bros. So yea, but that's more of a question for Nintendo than us."

You make a good argument, and in hindsight that doesn't look good for Snake. Still thinking back a bit to Melee, I wouldn't think that having no gritty character like Snake to deal with was the reason Sakurai chose brighter colors. I'd say it was more along the lines of being a breath of fresh air/call back to Smash 64/HD graphics.

Maybe it's because of all the bright outdoor sections/Octocamo from MGS4, but I still can't help but personally think that Snake could pull off a brighter color pallet.

Seems like it. Good to hear that Sega is receptive to allowing Sonic in Smash 4, although I was surprised that Sega declined it during pre-Brawl early on. I think Sakurai will want Sonic back, barring him not wanting third-parties from previous games back.

Took me a sec to think through, doesn't have to be specifically this level, but maybe something from this game:

Personally I think a such a stage would work well with the 3DS cel shading.
