Lololol who wants to boycott the boycott with me?! We'll make posters and everything.

LOL I'm going to use Petition.org and make a "We Want Ridley!" petition. The petition will say we will boycott all sales of SSB4 and beyond UNTIL Ridley gets put into the game. When we get enough support through votes, I'll tweet this to Sakurai and see whether or not he will bend to our will. Ridley needs all the support he can get, so let's get him that support!

Sales are almost all about North America. Japanese sales for Smash 3DS and Wii U won't be a lot more than Europe's. Really, Japan as a whole in the gaming world as a consumer base isn't all powerful, especially with Europe, India, China, Korea, South America, and Australia becoming more and more viable markets.

Yes, that's all true. However Japan is no slouch for Smash sales, Brawl at least still sold several million copies there. And considering that Japan generally prefers portable games, the 3DS Smash could fare even better.

Regardless, I still don't think the lack of Ridley will put a huge dent in the sales, in any market. He's hardly the most marketable character, even if he would be one of the most anticipated newcomers. All the big hitters are still there (Sonic and Snake are debatable atm), and now Mega Man is as well, so really... I very much doubt the absence of Ridley (or any hypothetical newcomer) would affect sales to any major degree.

People need to chill. Ridley hasn't been disconfirmed; and if the Ness update fiasco is anything to go by, we probably won't fully know until later whether he is or is not playable. For all we know Ridley could be both playable and a background character akin to Red Arremer or Tron Bonne in MvC3, we just don't know. Things look grim for Flying Barney given the insinuation, but nothing is certain just yet -- all this from someone indifferent to Ridley.

That's it... we SHOULD boycott Sakurai! That's what we need to do! If Sakurai supposedly listens to voices, then he wouldn't be able to silence the loudness of ours. If this makes sense, then let us silence our voices so it would equal the loudness of what we want to say. Namely - do NOT buy anymore products from Sakurai until Ridley becomes playable. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow. Maybe Sakurai will change my mind.

Do you not realize that if it wasn't for Sakurai, most of what makes the series so beloved would not exist? If Ridley is not playable, it is for a reason, and not because he is spiteful or ignorant.

Well I dunno, I just think Smash Wii U (the game Nintendo is clearly more invested in) won't sell as well in Japan. Japanese home console Nintendo game sales have been down the last several years.

Ridley isn't a "copy seller" like Mega Man, Bowser, or Diddy Kong, but rather a nice complimentary character that makes people go "wow, that's crazy!" like Pit, ROB, Marth, Ike, Captain Falcon, or the Wii Fit Trainer.

Yeah, the colors in Brawl were nothing "appetizing" to the eyes. The characters themselves looked like they were caked in dirt. In melee, the colors had a greater contrast.

The characters had to basically be cut outs because they were made too high resolution for the Wii, and had to be "toned down." I'll give Sakurai, Game Arts, and co that free pass, but the stages looking bland (well, mostly just the new stages) is still unforgivable.

Also, the SSE having way better gameplay graphics than the standard multiplayer.

What's with the Brawl hate all of a sudden? Is it because it's the cool thing for hardcore gamers to do to casual gamers? Seriously, I thought Brawl has great graphics for a Wii game - the realistic, hard style was awesome to look at, what with Mario's overalls and DK's fur. I thought it was awesome because it was realistic like it would look like in the real world, almost like it was HD. Melee looked too cartoonish, in my opinion, and the colors were pretty bright and cool, but hey, what can I say. So I welcomed Brawl's realistic style.

I posted this on GAF the other day and have been thinking about the fact that since the art style is so dramatically different if that is an indication that Solid Snake is no longer in the game. Obviously this would not affect Sonic the Hedgehog. One need look no further than Sonic Lost World for proof.
