Well I dunno, I just think Smash Wii U (the game Nintendo is clearly more invested in) won't sell as well in Japan. Japanese home console Nintendo game sales have been down the last several years.
Yeah, I totally agree. The Wii U will never have the install base of the Wii, home systems aren't as popular in Japan, and the west (NA in particular) is just huge compared to Japan. It'll probably do decently, sure, but the 3DS version will definitely outsell it. Probably will here as well unless the Wii U gains some serious traction.

Ridley isn't a "copy seller" like Mega Man, Bowser, or Diddy Kong, but rather a nice complimentary character that makes people go "wow, that's crazy!" like Pit, ROB, Marth, Ike, Captain Falcon, or the Wii Fit Trainer.
Yup, agree with this too.

It's possible Marth could've been a system seller in Japan though, what with being the clearly most-popular FE character at the time and having that anime and everything. Just a guess though.

I'm out of food so I'm trying ramen and gosh I just don't understand how to eat it. I mean I'm using a fork and all but geez it's so difficult why would anyone view this as like your basic cheap and easy food item. WHY AM I NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO EAT COLLEGE KID FOOD?! *Sob*
Try Hot Pockets!

The food of champions! And easier to eat!

I don't know whether to feel Strong or weak that I can eat ramen better than Oasis can...success?

So guys, who is the character you've been waiting for to be confirmed?
Mewtwo, I want to kick butt with that Pokemon so much.

The characters had to basically be cut outs because they were made too high resolution for the Wii, and had to be "toned down." I'll give Sakurai, Game Arts, and co that free pass, but the stages looking bland (well, mostly just the new stages) is still unforgivable.

Also, the SSE having way better gameplay graphics than the standard multiplayer.
The only stage I didn't like design-wise was Distant Planet. It took a backround from Awakening Wood/Forest of Hope, put in a couple of random plants and an oddly placed hill, and added a Bulborb.

Yeah, that stage did seem like it was made at 4 AM in under 5 minutes. The rain/sun mechanic was a cool concept, but was plain annoying.

Want Little Mac revealed soon.
It's one of those characters that should have been in since SSB 64 (so much that I can actually picture him in 64-bit polygons)

Probably not happening soon... But I still hope so I can leave these boards in peace and refrain from spoiling the game any longer.

I have a feeling that his reveal trailer's going to blow my mind. And I'm willing to stamp one of the site's images on a T-shirt to celebrate.

Wow. Really insensitive, right there. I'm not surprised you stooped so low to make that joke... Show some respect.
He was trying to subtly make a point. Your comparing Dr. King's sacrifice for the Civil Rights movement to your videogame petition was a little insensitive too. I understand the point you were trying to make, but if you're going to draw comparisons try doing it with something that is comparable.

I liked the stages from Brawl... and alot, too, if that's okay. BUT if there was one problem, at least in this end's opinion, is that so many of them were so hellishly insane and dangerous that it was unbelievable when they were played XD

That is, the number of stages that were like that out numbered the ones that were steady, and... I don't really want to say simple, because all stages with the exception of Brawl's Battle field always had something going on in some way, but... yes

The most dangerous stages in Brawl would probably be Spear Pillar, 75m, and Mario Bros.

Also, weren't Pirate Ship and Distant Planet once considered tournament legal?

I recall reading about that somewhere...

I remember a lot of fun times playing friendlies with my friends on Pirate ship. It was a nice stage that had decent colors and cool mechanics.

Seriously, I thought Brawl has great graphics for a Wii game - the realistic, hard style was awesome to look at, what with Mario's overalls and DK's fur. I thought it was awesome because it was realistic like it would look like in the real world, almost like it was HD. Melee looked too cartoonish, in my opinion, and the colors were pretty bright and cool, but hey, what can I say. So I welcomed Brawl's realistic style. :ohwell:
The problem is the graphics were down scaled for the Wii.
I posted this on GAF the other day and have been thinking about the fact that since the art style is so dramatically different if that is an indication that Solid Snake is no longer in the game. Obviously this would not affect Sonic the Hedgehog. One need look no further than Sonic Lost World for proof.
...I think you are overreacting to the impact Snake had on the direction of the art and visuals in Brawl.

Oh...? o///o That's all neat! That is, and this is just this end's opinion, but Pirate Ship and Distant Planet are relatively tame, this is true. Plus, I'll take your word for it <://]

If I had to pick the most insane stages in Brawl, all of what you listed is definitely there, as well as Flat Zone 2, and Big Blue (which I know was in Melee, too, and was insane even in that game)

Don't know why I didn't think of the possibility of Ridley being on a Pryosphere/Geothermal Power Plant stage as a hazard, the latter of which I had always thought was a given. Does look pretty cool though. If I can see some more of the stage in action it might become my new favorite of the current Wii U stage lineup (I like how they highlighted the platforms using Neon Green lights).

Also I really want to talk music after listening to Vs. Ridley and studying the picture.

I guess that makes some sense, though I doubt the art style of the entire game(s) would depend upon just one character. Personally though, I do feel that Snake could fit into the new pallet.

.
I was actually listening to that song while I was discussing Ridley with others earlier today.

Personally I think that's the best version of his theme, but there would be a bit of dispute of that. Likely a lot over Brawl's version of the theme and Other M's version.

My favourite stages in Brawl were probably Mario Circuit, Frigate Orpheon, Wario Ware, Pictochat, Green Hill Zone... the list goes on, but those are probably the ones this end has played on the most and have found to be some of the most enjoyable. Final Destination and Battlefield, too, but those ones are good no matter what it seems, at least in my opinion

I felt Green Hill Zone needed to be a tad bigger, but then again us Sonic fans.. [ugh I just associated myself with the insane part of the fanbase yuck] Even the more sane of us love to nitpick lol.

My favorites were Castle Siege and Delfino, but I did quite enjoy Eldin and The Halberd, they'd be high on my list of "Returning Brawl stages"
I liked Delfino a lot.

The stage is awesome, but I can't tell whether I like the stage or the music on it more.

Oh, and if we could get a Melee stage remade, I want a new Fountain of Dreams stage.

Main reason I liked Siege and Delfino was the shifting battlefields, they gave some spice to the fights ^^. Didn't hurt that the music of FE and Mario they picked for said stages were amazing.

Delfino Plaza is the best stage in Brawl, hands down.

Not only that, but Mario and Zelda franchise sales on the Wii were down in their latest iterations. Zelda console sales continue to go down in Japan.

A system seller=??? Eh, maybe like a few hundred copies, but really, any character could sell that many games.

o///o Bigger? Oh-- that is true. Even stranger, now that you mention it, that more was programmed beyond the End zones of the stage but were for mostly show... not to complain, but... you're right in that it could have been even bigger

What do you think they'll do for a new Sonic stage? I could see them throwing in City Escape in all honesty, its practically the Green Hill Zone of the 3-D series, even if Emerald Coast came before it.

Well just look at the stage and character pictures and pre-release videos, and compare them to them actually in Brawl. The graphical differences are huge.

Still, that Distant Planet background is just awful, and you are 100% right on that. The background is literally an import from Pikmin 1 (maybe 2).

I played at tournaments where Mario Bros. was legal because of idiots spamming about how they should all be neutral, and because some TO was Silly enough to bow to some random person on the internet's wishes (even though said player wasn't even a competitive player and lived on the other side of the freaking planet).

I'm glad they actually made a new Pikmin stage for Smash 4. (well, not new as in Smash 4 only and not Pikmin 3, but new as in they actually seemed to recreate a Pikmin 3 map for that game)

Instead of hands as cursors where you can select your character, the cursors should be little different colored Ridleys. And they bite your selection instead of grabbing it. But without Ridley being a selectable character, of course.
