That Ridley isn't as big of a shoe in as people would like to think. I don't know if he's a hazard or if he's going to be revealed soon, but I'm glad he's being addressed now rather than later.

And yet we still have K Rool fans thinking Dixie Kong is somehow less likely than him.

I kind of agree with this but only because I've been really pessimistic about Ridley and K. Rool becoming playable. Despite how much I want both of these characters, I've kept my expectations flat on the floor to avoid crippling disappointment.

No, these annoying freaking "crowd" of Pit players (note I said "crowd;" this only refers to specific groups of Pit players) need to just disappear. No one likes the Brawl (competitive) Pit players in "that crowd." Not Brawl players, not Brawl haters, heck, not even non-Smash Bros. players. They need to be put in their place once and for all as the worst character fanbase in the history of Smash character fanbases, and we need to whack them with a malice every once in a while to make sure they know they are the worst.

The Melee competitive community did that to the Peach players, and that group was (largely) fixed of its' ailments.

Ridley will be fine.

It's the direction of the stages (specifically in Metroid) I am worried about. Oh, and the Metroid music. If the bulk of Smash Wii U's Metroid soundtrack is from Other M, then I am going to hack the hell out of Smash Wii U to erase and replace all that waste with the superior Metroid Prime race, and if Sakurai doesn't pull out this ace, I hope his music guy gets whacked out of his job with a mace.

Nevertheless, the content/quality of his posts has absolutely nothing to do with "a certain group of Pit players" or "what they do." I have a feeling you just wanted to get that off your chest for a while, and saw an opportunity here.

Basically, Sakurai's blurb on the photo can be taken in the sense that Sakurai can reveal Ridley any second. Which I would say means we have this week to see if he is revealed.

If not, I am afraid he is a stage hazard. The platform is huge. Big enough to contain a giant Ridley swooping in for an attack on the players.

I can understand why people are all up in arms about it, but... do the picture and quote REALLY do anything to affect Ridley?

When I read the quote myself it struck me more as a confirmation than anything really. It's also clear that Sakurai was being ambigious. If anything it could be like you said this morning, it could be Ridley's stage and he's just referencing that, or it could be that Ridley is a stage hazard, we don't really know for certain, and thats why I'm not thinking too hard about it. I'm just enjoying myself while I watch everyone run around like the sky is falling. I mean, we'll eventually know, so might as well sit back and be patient about it...
