Anyone starting to think the stage is huge for a reason? Like dodging a stage hazard?!?!?!

The more I look at it, the more I grow fond of it, it seems like it could have tons of competitive potential, like the P:M Castlevania stage. However, someone over on /v/ mentioned how it looks like it's a direct port of the DoA Other M stage... Which, would be kinda lame if true.

That's about as "direct a port" as Frigate Orpheon was in Brawl.

Oh come on, give Sakurai some credit. The man turned Ridley into a Dyna Blade clone boss, for lux sake.

IIRC, he had 3 different aerial and 2 "fire" attacks, one of which was a wall of fire (before you blasted the eruption port open/started the actual battle), the giant orb of fire that he also used in DoA: Dimensions, and lastly his classic tail stabs. I think that would be pretty neat.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one... Neat. Now lets hope Sakurai deviates from Team Ninja by NOT making Ridley a hazard like he was in DoA.

I like the look of the DoA stage more. It's brighter, saturated, and nowhere near as drab looking. The SSB stage almost blends in with the background.

Honestly I find the SSB stage a bit ugly.

Well so far we have 4 potential newcomer characters hinted at with stages (Chrom with that Fire Emblem stage, Little Mac with the Super Punch-Out!! ring, Miis with the Wuhu Island area on the Pilotwings stage, and Ridley in this infamous bastardized scene from Other M).

I think Sakurai is trying to troll us, and I expect him to do this with a Donkey Kong Country stage as well (teasing K. Rool). He knows that those 4 characters plus K. Rool are the most wanted Nintendo-owned newcomers.

We all know Little Mac is gonna happen, and we're pretty sure K. Rool and Ridley are gonna happen (don't read into that quote; remember Ness "who was in smash bros up until now" guys). Miis aren't too far behind those two, and eh, Chrom's "chances" are kind of up in the air, but still very reasonable.

I also think Sakurai has never played Metroid before, and I think his stage choices per game continue to get worse and worse. Seriously, can we pulled the starting pitcher and go to the bullpen already with stage selections=??? Or you know, actually make a stage from actual Metroid fans=??? Or you know, get a actual DONKEY KONG COUNTRY stage in Brawl instead of 2 stages that are rarely played by anyone=??? Oh, and I bet the layout will be crap like Norfair again, or it will have too much lava interference to where the stage dictates way too much.

Also visually, Skytown Elysia on Metroid Prime 3 looks far superior than this stage, and that was on that hunk of outdated crap we call the Wii. That says a lot about how bland this stage is. This stage looks blander than the first God of War game. All this stage has is the lava bright colors and lots of dark, gray, and boring.

You do know Peach is supposed to be a badass mage who is more than capable of kicking Bowser's ass on a daily basis right? She just has stockholme syndrome. There's a reason she's the only high tier Mario character in Smash since her inclusion in Melee, Peach ftw.

(no really, I'm waiting for something viva la PlayStation All-Stars to happen, albeit instead of with virtual demos it is with a CD demo of some sort).

I'm fairly certain the stage will be brighter when the lava is present. Notice how it looks all hard and cooled at the bottom there. Something might happen to cause lava to heat up and rise.

The only "NPC" to he has linked to a character before was Ness in regards to Lucas ("Up until now"), and last I checked, Ness wasn't an NPC.

Well expect someone involved to goof up and reveal lots of crap sometime within the next 18 months (but before either games' release).

You know, like how Shigeru Miyamoto leaked Jigglypuff in Melee, David Hayter leaked Jigglypuff in Brawl, and how that sticker showcase leaked Jigglypuff (again), Ness, and Lucario in Brawl=??? Oh, and all those roster prophets. Expect one or two of them to be true. Some folks I know (or don't know) around these and other parts have "sources" that may or may not leak stuff, so expect something to leak before it is actually revealed.
