I was kinda hoping that Jiggs would be the one to make everyone fall asleep... then scribble on the opponent's face with a marker for extra damage and humiliation! Again, that's not why. That was his original Japanese name.

As for why Sonic gave him that nickname in the American storyline only, is probably to ease it into the actual series for players.

I personally call her Princess Peach Toadstool too! My best guess is that Mario and Peach got too close that he stopped being formal towards her and started calling her by her first name.

Would the face scribblings have any other affect other than comical value? I think making the scribbles do damage over time like the lip's flower item would make the FS more potent.
But falling asleep is already a potent affect alone, when Jiggly has rest.

So, just throwin' this out here, and I know you won't be happy with it, but...

In the Ness thread, I decided to make a specials moveset for him if he was only allowed to use specials he actually had in Earthbound.

Up B: TELEPORT​

- As described by Tepig. He runs forward for a bit, leaving a trail of fire, then teleports in the indicated direction.​

Edit: And he could have a trail of fire as he stops, too.​

​

Neutral B: PSI ROCKIN'​

- Functions like PK Flash does, but it's more accurate as Rockin' is an offensive move while Flash is actually a debuff.​

​

Side B: PK HYPNOSIS​

- Zaps out like PK Fire, but on contact it makes an enemy dizzy for a duration based on %. Like Mewtwo's disable but, y'know, useful on account of having range and being able to attack downward from the air.​

​

Down B: SHIELD​

- Concentrates for a second, taking half damage and no knockback from all attacks, then releases a psychic blast with power proportional to the amount of damage dealt to him. A totally competent KO move, especially against multiple reckless attackers.​

​

Final Smash: Ω PARALYSIS​

He shrieks out "PEE KAY PARALYSIS... OMEGAAAAA!" and all enemies look sick for a moment. For the next 18 or so seconds, all enemies can do is move, jump and shield, losing the ability to attack or use specials at all. Ness can then freely go and pick them off.​

I like this, actually! I'd play this Earthbound-accurate Ness much more often than the current Ness.​

The Japanese adopted the Robotnik name in SA2 with Maria and Gerald Robotnik, so that's probably why it was quickly made into the whole "Eggman is his nickname, Robotnik is his real name" thing for both regions.

Ness's specials are unique. PH Thunder is amazing. His projectile has a neat property and his Magnet is an interesting healing move. The only special that is kinda blah is his B move.

If people really need him to have another way of recovering, make PK flash faster and weaker and have Ness teleport into the blast when B is let go.

If you want to use specials related to the games, then have Lucas use his own specials. Or cut him.

I'm kind of upset and confused now.
I just found out that there is Kickstarter for a game called Candle that is said to be using DirectX 11 and will make it's way to Wii U.
It's been rumored that Kingdom Hearts 3's reason for not coming to Wii U was because the Wii U can't run DirectX11.
If the team behind Candle can manage to work around this and get the game on Wii U why can't Square.

And I just watched two Zubatman videos, I didn't know there were such things. Zubatman is a LOT more okay with killing than Batman. The "Zubatman eats a Rarecandy" is pretty good though.
