Please Heavenly Father Miyamoto in Japan, let Super Mario RPG 2 exist, and let it be better than the original, and let it have everyone return, and give all the rights to Nintendo, and let Geno and/or Mallow, as well as a Super Mario RPG (1 or 2) stage be in Smash 6 (since one of these 2 games is Smash 5).

A-TENDO!!!

#NintendoPrayers #Can'tBelieveHOW-THE-A'S-LOST-ON-THAT-BAD-CALL-AND-I-AM-STILL-MAD-THREE-HOURS-LATER-ABOUT-IT!!!
There is a Super Mario RPG 2, it's called Paper Mario.

I realized I had forgotten to check yesterday's pic.

Am I the only one who was reminded to Scooby and Shaggy? :p
I kinda got more of a Superdog and Superman vibe from it (or maybe Astro Boy and whatever his dog, since they seemed to have a lot of borrowed properties from Superman and his dog's relationship), but yeah, I got some of that vibe. I imagine Sakurai probably watched that show as a child.
The only people that care about Super Mario RPG are either smelly or eyeballs or both.
I am smelly in the best of ways and I definitely have two eyeballs, but am not two eyeballs.

WTF=???

So like, above it looks 16-bit, but on the ground it is all cel-shaded and modern looking with that classic vibe=???

I am totally lost here man... unless that 16-bit shot just basically was to confirm the stage, and isn't actually a part of the stage.

Still, a stage based around fighting on a plane sounds pretty cool.

Look! There's even, not to assume, but Wuhu Island in the Background!
Is that really Wuhu Island?

Because this is genius if it is!

EDIT:

IT TOTALLY IS!!!

SAKURAI CONFIRMED FOR GENIUS!!!

He gave us both Pilotwings locations on the same stage!

WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING HERE. DUCKTALES IS OUT!!!
It has been out for like 2 decades. Just because it got an HD remake doesn't make it the best thing ever.

Heck, Street Fighter II got a wayyyyyyyy better HD remake (with this incredible remix), and Street Fighter is a better game than Duck Tales or the HD remake, so what's all the fuss about=???

#NostalgiaGoingOverboard

If you wanna go nuts for a "new" game, go nuts for BioShock Infinite, The Walking Dead, The Last Of Us, or GTA V (SO HYPED!!!). Plus heck, I bought a ton of games during and right after the Steam sale. I freaking got Saint's Row The Third: Complete Edition for about $6, and I still haven't gotten too far into it because the $5 sale on Fallout: New Vegas (Ultimate Edition) and Fallout 3 (Game of the Year Edition) have consumed me.

#FirstWorldGamerIssues

BTW, an HD Remake of Mega Man 1-10, Mega Man & Bass, and the Game Boy games (I-V) with added content, leaderboards, playable Proto Man, Bass, etc... would be so hype. Seriously, I still am loving the idea of playing such a game where you can use any Robot Master weapons on any level. I would love the hell out of that game, personally.

Well that island in the background de-confirms (sorta) a Wii Sports Resort stage as it's the same island, which also appeared in Pilotwings Resort.

So this stage represents 3 games in one? Either way this stage is very similar to the concept that Star made up a long way back (except for the Pilotwings stuff).

CRAZY THEORY TIME!
There are two Pilotwings stages. This one is in a 3D world, whereas the other one is the SNES version.
That, or the pic from last time is just the background of a different location that the plane goes to.

Anyways, my reaction;

Yep, that is.

So guys... do you think it is safe to assume that Miis are extremely likely playable characters now=???

#ICalledIt

Well, a stage giving strong hints (on purpose) for a character again. First Little Mac and the Super Punch-Out!! ring, and now Wuhu Island and the Miis. I'm waiting for Gangplank Galleon and K. Rool now, and Lower Norfair and Ridley (except we already got a Lower Norfair stage). :estatic:

This is just so incredible in every way! Nothing against the other stages in any way, but... from this end, it can safely be said that this is my favourite of the stages revealed on Wii U thus far next to Wily's Castle

Mii's confirmed :troll:
Well, so far, I have a fun fact:

Out of the 3 newcomers, the one that comes from the series with the lowest sales is MEGA MAN!!!

Miis would actually top Wii Fit (which in 2 games has sold almost sold as many copies as the entire Zelda and Donkey Kong franchises), and Animal Crossing (which is pretty much Nintendo's #4 selling series behind the Wii series, Mario platformers, and Pokémon [maybe Nintendogs]).

I guess Toise's "sales don't matter theories" aren't holding up... :ohwell:

Miis or not (which... in all honesty, and not to offend anyone, but would be REALLY neat in my opinion), it's Pilotwings too, and Pilotwings is amazing... again my opinion... sorry

Fighting on a Biplane huh? Reminds me of Venom. This level is still pretty trippy though. They're fighting really close to the ground there. Can the characters stand on the ground? But the plane (and thus the stage) should be moving forward pretty fast, so would the characters get sucked up into the background and die? That would be a new and interesting effect if so. I'm also wondering if the whole stage will be a Biplane, or if you'll have to jump from vehicle to vehicle Pokefloats style.

There is a Super Mario RPG 2, it's called Paper Mario yo.
Not even close to the same bub. Paper Mario plays differently, has a different feel, and (at least in the first two and vastly superior two games) is mostly focused on Mario, to where he only has one ally out at the time.

In Super Mario RPG, you get multiple allies out along with Mario, and Geno's and Mallow's quests take precedent over Mario's quest in the story.

Plus the gameplay is pretty different. Heck, Mario & Luigi might be closer to Super Mario RPG than Paper Mario, especially the ba***rdized version of Paper Mario we got in Stupid Star.

Not to assume, but looking at the textures of the ground in this stage, it seems that the plane is taking off from a lower resolution area... that is, crisp in the games graphics, but the pixels are visible is all, even from this screenshot. Perhaps the plane starts out on the 16 bit version of the Pilot Wings environment and... well... it may just be pointing out the obvious, but... goes off somewhere else. Now, this isn't an assumption by any means, but... what if attacking the plane were to cause it to lose altitude or fuel, and thus, crash...?

Uhm... that would, in this end's opinion, certainly make for some kind of stage hazard... BUT that's just what ifs

Actually, as I'm analyzing the stage, one thing comes to mind...

The island in the background has an added piece of land, just left of the Lighthouse. Intredasting.

Edit: there's also a lack of a red building to the far right, and there's even more added land to the right as well.
Edit 2: There's more land discrepancies here and there, but all the major Wuhu landmarks are intact. Strange.

Perhaps on the stage before launch we see everything from a 16-bit perspective=??? That's a pretty interesting idea.

I think the "Venom" factor won't be much of one, because the stage looks too small (on the biplane) for camping or stalling tactics to really work.

As for the landing strip, I would imagine that if the plane stops, it will just be more room to walk (like Haleberd when it starts up), but when the plane is speeding up, it will hurt like on Mute City when you are moving. Obviously after the plane reaches a certain height you'll just die from falling. Still, the thrill of going from the ground to the air will be pretty awesome in a stage.

Also, I wonder what the path will be of this moving stage. I am really intrigued as to how this turns out. Hopefully this stage turns out to be a great stage.

Oh yeah, I couldn't think of a stage where the ground moves rapidly into the background, but I forgot about Mute City(and Port Town I think?). I guess it'll probably just function like that. I still think it would be cool if your character got pulled into the background though(though it'd probably too much trouble to implement).

Wuhu Island looks like it's a flat background texture in the pic. I'd be surprised if it was all 3D.

Maybe it cleverly transitions from a texture when in the background to 3D when the plane gets near it. (that is, IF we visit the island)

So, the Pilotwings stage has the characters fight on top of a biplane and features the island from the SNES Pilotwings and Wuhu Island at the same time...

Sakurai is quite clever, indeed...

We could even assume that the stage represents Wii Sports, Pilotwings and, to an extent, Mario Kart 7.

I think this new stage looks real interessting. You'll probably get KO'd when you touch the plane's propellor I'd think. Not a competitive viable stage, but at least it looks pretty.

All of this Pilot Wings/Wuhu Island stage thing makes me wonder if we'll get a Nintendo Land stage...

I haven't figured out what the area is either. Granted I don't know Wii Sports Resorts that well, but I've never seen any area like that in the game.

I think the "pulled into the background" could still function as a way they die if they say bounced or stay on the ground for "too long."

Maybe it could work when the stage is in 16-bit mode (if that really is a thing).

That's what happens when I am having a Game of Thrones marathon. Holy God I forgot how awesome the 2nd to last episode of Season 2 is. That ending is just... wow. Even though I know how it ends and I've seen it before at least thrice, it still shocks me what happens, and how it happens. Holy mother of motherly mothers.

I would like to see more competitive stages this time around.
Chances are we'll get plenty.

Aside from Battlefield and Final Destination, we will probably have...

Boxing Ring
Skyloft
New Smashville
Nintendogs Stage
Arena Ferox
Reset Bomb Forest

as possible competitive stages. From what we've seen they should all be able to work.
