I expect more the art style to be inline with the previous Smash games. Cartoony with a touch of realism.

We might. At this point anything is possible. They could tease the title and say wait until E3 for more details. They love doing that $hit

Getting back on topic, I have two question

1: do you expect a cartoony art style like the picture Namco bandai made for Sakurai? http://www.ssbwiki.com/images/a/a7/SSB4_whiteboard.jpg

2 do you think we'll see anything smash related on Wednesday.?
1. Wouldn't be bad, in my opinion. I liked the art style of that drawing.

2. I don't think we will see anything Smash-related until E3. I could be wrong, though.

I would personally prefer a more cartoony art style, but nothing that would make Metroid, Starfox, F-Zero, and Fire Emblem look bizarre. My complaint with Brawl's art style was that it tried realism but failed at it in some very clear ways. For example, the painted on fur and that Peach's multi-layered dress behaved as just one layer are the two biggest examples. Of course, this is more in the animation department, but it's still a big part of the art style. Then there was just the fact that the colors were so desaturated.

That drawing was a good example of what I'd like, but they really need to fix Fox's head.

The Peach's frack issue could also be limited due to the hardware specifications of the Wii.

But if you know that you're limited by hardware, then why make the dress look like that in the first place? Her dress is already one layered in the Mario games save for the two pink things on her hips.

That is a question you are going to have to ask the lead designer. It was clearly a model design choice that was agree'd upon to make it into the final build into the game.

My guess is that the model was a bit more detailed than it looks now and was simplified in poly count and the loss of poly detail was made up for in texturing the design on the dress.

The Netherlands is quite liberal. But still has crazy racists like Geert Wilders, who has a Hitler-like mentality when it comes to the Islam. I think Germany and Great Brittain are a lot more conservative though. And they hold the most power overall in Europe. France, I believe, is getting more liberal, but has struggles of it's own. Eastern Europe seems most in truth with their cultural vallues to. As well as Italy and Spain. Other European countries I think are quite liberal are the Scandivian countries ; Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. But it's not like they're too kind of foreign people living in their country due to strong attachement to culture, again. There's more friction amongst countries than some would admit as well!

So anyway, it's all the same ****.
I really can't blame anti-Islamist in Europe because if you read history the Arabs basically tried to conquer Europe from 700s-1000s. The Crusades kind of put the conflict back in the Arabs backyard but the Arabs invaded Italy, France, and Spain for a while.

The Ottoman Turks later invaded the Balkans. People I have met in US from Balkan countries like Greece and Romania today still hate Turks because of the stories from those times.

Also they are believe that this attack in Boston maybe Islamists (at least NY Post is reporting that). I guess Al Quada was mad because Kim Jong Un was getting all the bad boy attention from the West.

What's worse is that this guy, Geert Wilder is going international with his anti-Islamic propaganda. I really can't believe the amount of hate coming from this guy. He calls the Islam ; opressive, barbaric, and a 'danger to the Western world'. It's getting ridiculous.

Islamic elements are truely barbariac (like the Taliban) but I wouldn't say all Muslims are like that. The problem is distinguishing which muslim is who and which group really controls the Middle East. I fear the radical elements are gaining ground in most Islamic nations and overthrowing or killing of those that challenge them.

Being religious =/= being a deluded fanatic. People just like to twist and generalize such things to their own benefit.

There are Christian people who are no different that the Islamic terrorists when it comes to religious fundamentalism. Check your history books and you will find out that there was the Inquisition that acted in many European countries, including England, Spain and Portugal.

And... can we take this discussion to somewhere else? I could create a private conversation if you want to discuss these matters, because it's kinda inappropriate to talk about this subject here...

We're talking about Muslims? I suppose I can talk about it as well, since I have had Muslim friends since kindergarten. Like Diddy said, they're all bros and are nice to hang out with.

Christians have an equal bad history, if not MUCH worse than the Islam. The Crusaders alone already... Then the enforcement of Christianity on African slaves... It's reasons like that I could never be a Christian.

There are bad eggs in every group, race, beliefs etc. Just because there are a few jerks in there doesn't mean everyone else is just like them.

I've had and met lots of friends and people from all kinds of backgrounds, cultures and beliefs and they have generally been the nicest of people to me. It's just that there are a few idiots out there who ruin it for everyone else really. :/

At least that is the case in my experience.

But oh well let's change the subject please since this isn't a good subject to talk about here. We should get back to Smash. :/

You do know the Crusades were sent in response to the Seljuk Turks attacking the Byzantine Empire. Alexios Comnus went to the Pope for help.

Blaming the Crusades on the Crusaders is like blaming World War II on Great Britian and France for declaring war on Nazi Germany for invading Poland. Crusades are quite misunderstood in modern culture.

The worse issues with Christianity was the New World conquest and Slavery. I will give you that one.

However, it is a human condition as you also have fanatics who have tried to wipe out religion in the name of athiesm by violence too. You are always going to have people trying to knock out other people.

This was even more off topic than the Wii U sales thing that got the character discussion thread locked, yes.

I think we are going to get that announcement of the Mario AR cards they announced for the Japanese Nintendo Direct, not really sure what else they would announce. Maybe a few more games and release dates hopefully. ^^

All I can think of for what I could expect from Nintendo Direct tomorry:

- 3DS Miiverse
- 3DS YouTube app (there is a rumor months old that we'll see one some day)
- That Mario AR card thing Kikwi-Kiwi is talking about
- More Virtual Console
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf news

I'm very sure we're getting absolutely zero Super Smash Bros. and Pokémon X & Y news.

I can see some the Miiverse implantation, and a possible connectivity feature with the WiiU.
People have been getting pop-ups on their WiiU's about that 3DS being connected to the WiiU

We're bored man, can you blame us...??

We come here because we like the people here, not because we wanna talk about nothing.

Also, this thread has been slow today, guessing everyone went back to the roster thread.

@Moon Monkey: Nintendo has confirmed that there WILL be a 3DS Miiverse (and a smart phone Miiverse) in the future and I think this Nintendo Direct is the perfect time to show this. And I do remember that Nintendo wants to do plenty of Wii U/3DS connectivity that they couldn't do with the DS & Wii (their reason why we saw barely ANY of that was because the DS had 2 screens and the Wii didn't'). So, again, it sound pretty likely.

People saying that Christianity (or religion in general) causes problems need to reevaluate some things. There has never been a RELIGION that caused a war. It was STUPID PEOPLE who believed in that religion. Every belief on earth can be used for evil.

Likewise every belief can be used for good.

As a Christian, it pains me to see that people only look at the bad a belief has done and not the good. Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Atheists have all done wonderful things that helped mankind, and they still continue to do so today.

Regardless, I'm hoping we get more info on Pokemon X and Y. Like maybe Sylveon's type?

I'm stuck on the following 3 for Sylveon: Normal, Flying, or (to a lesser extent) a new type.

But like I said, I'm doubting we'll be getting Pokémon X & Y news tomorrow as all past news after the main reveal has been done either by Pokémon Smash or CoroCoro comics (which I believe all of this is Game Freak's doing and not Nintendo's.)

Guess that I was too harsh and judgemental about Christianity, but it purely comes from personal negative experiences I guess. I've met more 'corrupt' Christians than any other sort of relligion. Sure, met a lot of cool Christians to, but more often than not I get a 'holier than thou'-vibe from Christians. Guess it also doesn't help my ex pushed me to become one against my will though...

Anyways, I'll be Rastafarian for life. I just cannot get in tune with any other sort of spirituality or relligion, so I chose a lifestyle which has both.

Sylveon seems like a Normal type for me, unless they have new Types.

I'd expect Sylveon to be Flying type, but they may surprise us in ways unexpected...

@Swamp: Yeah, I never spoke against any religion, but against human stupidity and greed... This reminds me of a quote by Albert Einstein: "Only two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity. I am not sure about the universe, though."

I am atheist, but having an agnostic point of view. I don't believe in a deity, but I don't deny that such deity may exist. In that sense, you could say that I have an open mind.
I think it's somewhat of a rhetoric question. There's no exact answer, but still makes you think about and form your own point of view.

Huh? Where did that come from? Why are talking about religion all of the sudden.

Oh well...

I was raised Catholic, and I still hold a lot of those beliefs. However, the influence the Catholic Church had in Europe and has had on the World is undeniable. A lot of advances, as well as deterrent and even atrocities were cause by those in power using the church's influence for their own gains.

Anyway, I suppose this is referring back to a comment I made about Religion ages ago (I heard someone was offended by it). I didn't mean to sound offensive. What aI suggested was a mere thought experiment, seeing as the Catholic Church had been behind a large part of human history. Wishing Christianity never existed is downright stupid, as the reality is what it is. But taking a moment to think about alternatives in our history always leads to interesting discussion. Of course, that means analyzing the benefits of it, as well as the negative consequences, of course, this requires a stong knowledge of history, which is why I posted a link to the Crash Course youtube series, which is FANTASTIC.

I also see a possibility of Sylveon being a dual type.

@Religion-talk
I'm Hindu by birth, but practically an atheist. I don't really believe in God...

It's not as all of a sudden if you check some older posts.

By the way, I'm thinking of creating a private conversation to continue this religion subject, what do you think? This whole religion talk is just derailing this thread too much. Off-topic is okay here, but let's not go overboard...

My personal belief is that God IS the Universe, not just our Three Dimensional Universe as we can see, but all 10 Dimensions. The deal is, if you give it a little thought, science and religion are more compatible than people think. You just have to keep an open mind regardless of which side you prefer.

Anyway, if you're confused about the 10 Dimensions:

Quantum Mechanics is the link b/w religion and science.

On Sylveon, I'm hoping it's a Light type.

I haven't actually met that many Christians in my life, I usually come across more Muslims, Agnostics and Atheists or people of other faiths. Though I did make two friends and I have a classmate currently in college of Christian faith, they were all awesome people and fun to talk with imo.

I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky that I haven't met any of these "fanatics" or "bigots" or whatever shoving their beliefs down throat's or whatever. So I personally don't see any reason yet to generalize. I don't think any faith is supposed to force beliefs on others. If they do, their doing it wrong. Like I said, there are idiots everywhere in every group (or at least misinformed people).

@Frostwraith, I wouldn't mind joining but I think I'd rather not since I'm actually not too fond of talking about religion and all. (Yeah I know I did it right now but still) So I think I might politely decline. ^^

Oh well, this is kinda derailing the thread *Okay needs to stop talking about off topic things*

Okay, fresh page. Lets speculate... Multi Man (Whatever the name of smash 4 is). So we had the Fighting polygon team in smash 64, The fighting Wireframes in Melee, and the Fighting Alloy in Brawl. What do you think the new fighting team would be this time? Or at the very least, after which characters do you think they would be based off this time? In 64 they were based off all the Smash 64's original 12 playable characters. In Melee they were based on Captain Falcon and Zelda and in Brawl it was Captain Falcon, Zelda, Mario and Kirby.

I'd say they will be based off Captain Falcon, Zelda, Mario, Kirby plus Yoshi and Donkey Kong this time around. (Maybe Link and Pikachu as well)

(Yes I'm totally forcing this next topic for the sake of moving away from the previous topic)
