I think you should pick WHAT music plays on what stage. Like what if I wanted to play Megaman music on a Mario stage

I think you should be able to choose from a pool of music related to the game the stage represents; if there's 3 Mario stages, you can mix and match the different Mario music in the game to each stage if you'd like.

Also I'd like for custom soundtracks because while Nintendo put out some baller ass music for Brawl I've since enhanced the game with music selections of my own and it feels pretty good

But for now... Electric Man's stage for Dr. Wiley's castle.

It's so hard to decide on what Mega Man tunes in general but trying to find the best of Mega Man 2 is even harder. I think on top of the Wily's Castle track we already know, Metal Man's might be the best for fighting to.

I've been listening to this a bunch recently; this song particularly as ever. It's awesome in general but the Metroid Metal version is beyond perfection. So something to this effect would be nice.

It's a longshot, but I really want them to have Melee's Fountain of Dreams theme again.

I almost took my GameCube out to play it! Best stage ever, and epic music.

I'm fine with music really, it just needs to be orchestrated, classic and epic. Just do it Nintendo!

Battlefield has Melee's menu theme? Interesting.

It's kind of hard to hear the songs in the Direct because of the voice over...

Sorry to double post, but I want to say that Battlefield's theme seems to be the same Melee menu theme remix from Brawl and all other stage songs seem to be taken directly from the source games. (At least, Gerudo Valley, Spirit Tracks Overworld and Ballad of the Goddess seem so.)

Reposting from a different thread, I didn't see this thread until after I'd posted it. I only embedded three videos as not to make a massive post.

Megaman has a vast wealth of content to draw from, with Megaman 1-10 as well as all of the X games, and more. I'm excited to hear a lot of the Megaman tracks, especially since we have at least one stage confirmed. We've got the MM2 theme remix, of course, but I'd love to hear some other tracks as well.

As for AC, not really my specialty. I actually have never played an AC game, I've heard a lot of great music though, like this from the Animal Crossing movie:

I think that would make a fantastic theme for Smashville/whatever the AC stage is.

As for the veteran franchises, I think the most notable one is Donkey Kong due to the legendary David Wise coming back to compose for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. There was of course the unforgettable Stickerbrush Symphony in Brawl, but there are some other great tracks I'd like to see make a return as well. Here are a few:

A good uptempo song which actually reflects the mood of the battle.

In case we'll finally get a stage based on Bowsers Castle....

I hope the music's a little better this time around... Wasn't a huge fan of many music pieces being so lifeless and synthesized in SSBB. That, and some pieces sounded really off from the originals, like Stickerbrush Symphony. What we got in the Mega Man trailer sounded great, and how I was expecting most of the music to sound like in the previous entry. I'd love to hear a redo of K. Rool or Dedede's theme, for instance.

Hopefully they add more obscure pieces from games like Pokemon Stadium or something, I'd love~ to hear Mewtwo's Stadium theme as his grand entrance, assuming he returns.
