Oh it's totally dumb but I mean The Echoes are confirmed for the most part all we need is edgy which would be shadow and dog which would be Isabelle that and Asthma which I'm assuming is Ninten

This is the reason these hint leaks persist. The 'witch' was obviously meant to be Ashley, which would normally hammer the nail into this leak's coffin, but now, thanks to its vagueness, people are searching for less sensible alternatives to justify keeping the leak alive. To me that's backwards.
Btw it wouldn't be Jeanne since 'witch' is for newcomers, not echoes.

Considering Richter was added likely to give variety for Castlevania, I'm honestly expecting Felix to be Isaac's echo, just the same.

Also about the stages, I remember the website saying '66 fighters!' and now it's updated to 71. It's probably just Sakurai throwing us in a loop as always. There is just no way he can ignore Isaac this time

I don't even like anime-styled characters like Isaac, but I want him in solely for how overdue he is for his spot. Y'all have been fighting since the pre-Brawl days, and with so many of the most highly requested characters either confirmed or Ashley-ed, I think he should be one of the next guys to make it in. I support!

Thanks for the support man. It'd be awesome if you try out the games. The games are a mix between Legend of Zelda style puzzle mixed with magic and highly polished turn based RPG gameplay where each member of your party belongs to a different element and there are creatures called djinn you can find and collect which you can mix and match for stat changes and new abilities. You can find it on the Wii U eshop
or the Switch eshop if Nintendo just puts VC on the Switch already

Eh, what the hey. Put me as a supporter. If only because you guys are so steadfast that it honestly inspires me. Much like K. Rool, I think it's high time you got what is owed to you for you dedication.
Nevermind that I'm also kinda realizing how fun Isaac's moveset could be...only just now, lol. Magic hands plus earth magic as well as swords has a lot of potential.
I just wish I liked the series more. Played the first, remember it as pretty decent, never got to the second...and I seriously could not get into Dark Dawn at all. Maybe I'll hit them up again.

Well today was a big morale boost. Here are my thoughts:
For me, the way I see it is that Isaac will either be completely absent from the game, back to assist trophy status, or promoted to a playable character. After watching the direct and seeing characters like Chrom and K. Rool as playable characters and Shovel Knight as an assist trophy, I believe that the chance that Isaac will be completely absent from the game is extremely slim. Don't want to get my hopes up too high though, because no one really knows what the ballot results really looked like.
We're just waiting to see whether Sakurai will drop the assist trophy bomb on us or make our dream a reality, and it's making me anxious to think about, but this is definitely the most positive I've felt about Isaac's chances. We can make it!

Oh wow! I keep forgetting that we have been supporting Isaac for over 10 years now and still going strong. This makes me even more hopeful for Isaac's inclusion!

Man I love seeing K. rool and others come to support isaac after that confirmation earlier today. It's awful because I feel like this is his shot now more than ever but I remember feeling the same way when the ballot came out back in 2015, three years later and seeing shovel knight get confirmed AT and k. rool as playable who seemed to be Isaac's biggest rival back during the ballot just raises my hopes. great to see there's still isaac support three years later and that i'm still on the supporters list XD stay hopeful you guys!

Exactly how I feel. If we just get Isaac and Geno then roster will be perfect. This may be the first game where people don't flip **** at the final roster. I'm excited.

Definitely his design from the first two games! It's more iconic, it's his design from the games where he's actually a main playable character, and the other design is from the game widely considered to be the weakest in the series. I wouldn't mind if there was a costume where the young Isaac wears the coat outfit from Dark Dawn, but it's not necessary either.

Personally I'm partial to the OG design, but his Adult self is also pretty badass.
It just isn't Isaac without the scarf.

Today's direct was so much hype. K. Rool returns in glorious fashion after so many years without a playable or major appearance. Dark Samus is a great inclusion too, making her the second former assist trophy to be playable. I hope Issac can follow suit.

Looking how they got Simon, Pac-Man and K.Rool's classic design, Sakurai looks like he's basing the design of the newcomers based on the high point of said character's history. The GBA duology is the high point of the Golden Sun franchise so I see Sakurai choosing the classic design as the best choice

Not gonna lie I'm a bit nervous. It seems like the Smash ballot is really impacting the newcomers we're getting this time around . Which on one hand means my hopes have never been higher for our boy, but i also feel like that means the stakes are higher as well. If he ever gets added I feel like it's now or never. I'm feeling the same about Banjo as well tbh, and those two (along with Dixie) are my most wanted by far. Hopefully Isaac pulls through!

Same on my end: Isaac and Banjo. This feels like the last chance since it's the last Smash game before major cuts and it's also the one focused on fanservice. If they can't get it even then...
I want to know once and for all if there are more stages left or not. Would tell me whether or not I should hold out hope for them, even if I know it's not impossible for them to join without a stage.
Do we have the Japanese translation of Sakurai's words on the stages? Would be nice to know if there was potential context lost in translation.

If he doesn't make it into the base and still isn't an AT, our hope relies on how DLC will be handled this time. Will it be the Rex and Pyra/ Spring-Man types or the Banjo Kazooie/ Isaac types

Yo, haven't been on the forums in quite a while but I want to support Isaac again. Ridley and K. Rool got in, so Isaac is the only one left on my Most Wanted list for Smash. Hope he gets in if not just for the amazing things I want to see them do for his moveset.

Eh, I wouldn't get too hung up on the stage thing. They obviously aren't going to show stages that would give any secrets away that they are still keeping. You know like newcomers that might get a stage or two. It could be all the stages, but it seems like more we're up to 103 stages. That's everything (that we can show you for now). But who knows, that's just me guessing. I just figure if they wanted to create hype by talking numbers they're still going to do it even if the numbers will be ever so slightly off because they have things they need to keep secret. The secrets are likely more important than the stage number being off by a couple.
More specifically I'd be a little surprised if we didn't get at least one more 3rd party. And by extension I'd be a little surprised if we got another 3rd party newcomer and no stage to go with them. But then again stranger things have happened. So who really knows.

with how K Rool and Chrom got added, I'd like to divert our attention to Wave 3 of the Smash 4 DLC Mii Fighters. the notable additions here are:
-King K. Rool
-Chrom
-Lloyd Irving
the former two have been added as playable characters. This may mean that Lloyd could be the next 3rd party character to be revealed.
Also while Isaac is my #1 pick, Lloyd was personally my initial ballot pick and is my #2 pick overall.
So if Lloyd gets in, Isaac's chances could also be pretty good, being a pre-Brawl request, and potentially having received solid fan demand

After this direct it really feels like the cast is gonna be filled with fan favorite ballot picks. so I'm rethinking my current predictions. and now I'm pretty sure Isaac has to be in there along with my boy Geno.
I imagine those two side by side waiting on the wings. waiting to make their grand entrances. Wizard boys unite! (Isaac is some kind of wizard right? xD never played his games)
also count me as a supporter while I'm at it. yeah I'm not a Golden Sun fan. but I feel like Isaac just deserves it. and I'd love to see an old nintendo franchise that hasn't gotten a character yet get a slot.

Yeah, some people think that the stage count being speciified as 103 versus the music and ATs which were "something+" meant that it was finalized, even if it could just be for the sake of comparison. I didn't realize it until just now, but there is the fact that Mute City 3DS was one of the tracks renamed for clarity's sake: Kongo Jungle-Kongo Falls, Yoshi's Island 64-Super Happy Tree, Dream Land-Dream Land GB, Mario Circuit Brawl-Figure 8 Circuit.
The Mute City on 3DS was renamed to Mute City SNES, yet Melee's Mute City is not confirmed. Why would they bother renaming and distinguishing it if it was going to be the only version?
I would love Lloyd. While being a Mii costume doesn't solidify a spot (Flying Man and Black Knight also exist in that wave, mind you), Sakurai did recently say for Tales that Lloyd was the obvious choice to represent it. I think if Lloyd gets that nod, Isaac has an even better chance because he probably fared better in the ballot.
