Sunrise, Sunset - Isaac for Smash Ultimate #GoldenSunday

Still holding out hope for Isaac finding the light.
Geno and Isaac are part of my; "Wanted since Brawl" type of characters. K. Rool and Ridley were part of it. Together with Samurai Goroh and Krystal. Two of them playable already, and two of them Assist Trophies.

I really hope Isaac and Geno get's in because of their awesome fanbases.

Wow, so WhisslBlank decided to go all ham now. Simon feels like a easy character to piggybank off of, and K. Rool's popularity was big enough to go out on a limb on. The only reason the neogaf leak lives to see another day is cause it accurately predicted Chrom being a Roy echo, something I don't think anyone saw coming. If it's fake, I can just imagine the user thinking "oh snap, it actually happened! Okay, let's go all ham now!" But that said, for all we know, he could be legit, and I don't think the expanded "leak" is totally out of question for a couple reasons.

Sakurai mentioned Terra during a famitsu interview, saying: "But on the other hand, if you think about who to add from Final Fantasy, it’s hard to come up with a choice that’s not Cloud. We could have used Terra or Bartz, protagonists in their own right, but I feel like there would be some people who wouldn’t know who those characters are."

Just a name drop. I think Cloud was the only character he was really considering, but who knows.

What makes that leak lose some credibility to me is the Galacta Knight echo. Galacta Knight's look is already one of Meta Knight's pallette swap (he even gets a similar mask to Galacta I believe)

Meta Knight isn't on the Smash Ultimate demo roster. I don't think we've seen all his alts in Ulimate, have we? Similarly, Samus didn't have her Dark Samus alt anymore, and we now know that's cause DS was becoming a full on echo character. If we can get visual of Meta Knights alts in Ultimate, we could maybe debunk or further credit this rumor rather quickly.

Regardless of what's true or isn't though, I just want Isaaaaaaac! I don't really care who comes with him. :D

I feel like people should be talking about Dark Meta Knight more. We have not seen an alternate that alludes to him, and we already have 2 echo's that are dark versions of there echoed character.

Edit: Also, the whole 2 FF songs thing does not hurt Geno in any form. Your comparing one of the biggest RPG franchises of all time to SMRPG, that while has some big historical importance, is not held in the same regard. Plus, Sakurai has stated that Square was very hands off when it came to Cloud's development, so perhaps it is more a problem relating to the composers than Square themselves. Plus, with all the others things that have happened, being the fanservice picks and every other developer getting at least two reps(Namco still only has Pac Man, but I find it hard to believe they would not have a secound rep when they are still involved with the game), and it seems very likely that someone new will be coming out of Square, and many things are pointing towards Geno.

Well, I think we can safely say if we're getting a second Square character it won't be Final Fantasy based if the music is to be believed (Unless they reveal something big). Super Mario RPG seems like such a good choice since Sakurai would actively want to use Geno as he knows the character is popular.

That being said, would Geno getting in help or hurt Isaac's chances? Because for all we know, K Rool, Ridley, Geno, all these characters may have had so much focus that Isaac could potentially be shafted into last minute AT status.

I don't like thinking about it, and I honestly think Isaac will be the next unique newcomer revealed as a gut feeling, but we do have to consider every alternative.

I wouldn't put too much stalk into that leak to be honest. If the only reason people believe the leak is because Chrom is an echo of Roy then that isn't a great reason to believe it. I honestly saw Chrom as a Roy echo a mile away even though I was in the minority. From a game design perspective and given everything we know about echos it just makes sense. The leaker could have had the same idea. That being said I would love any "leak" with Isaac as playable to be real.

Well people believe the leak because he actually got things correct so we can believe until things get debunked. Vergebens leak said no DK rep. So his leak is already wrong. He just got Ridley lucky couse of memes. Even though Simon and K.Rool just could be meme picks of that Soren leaker (whatever his name is, i call him Soren leaker..) but getting Chrom as Roy echo is not a meme pick imo. And thats the thing why i believe him. Also the fact that Golden Sun came to virtual console back then makes me think he was planned for Sm4sh but something hold him back in the end. But yes, time will tell.

Ideally, Geno would help Isaac out since they're in very similar situations. I really don't think it does, though. Sakurai has personally wanted Geno in since Brawl and opted to give him a Mii costume without showing similar treatment for Isaac. There could have been more planned for Isaac as possibly indicated by the AT absence but we just don't know.

I admit, it is a worry, but like I said before, I kinda see Geno and Isaac as brother's in arms, and having both be in would be amazing. I certainly would not want the two to become rivals, and with the trend of them introducing a new series with every pair of newcomers, I can easily see Golden Sun being represented. What other first party series is left that as much fan service appeal?

Personally, I'd love Dulluhan. No offense to Saturos/Menardi or the Dragons, but the former are a little too small to work as a boss in the sense that the game's asking for, whilst we already have the Rathalos so another Dragon wouldn't really be needed persay.

Dullahan/Deadbeard maybe, but they were just optional bosses from what I remember. I think they could do a saturos/menardi duo boss, kinda like Duon from brawl. Just have slightly upscaled versions of saturos/menardi standing next to each other. They would each have their own attacks and swap positions after some time.

Dulluhan would make the most sense, I would love Saturos/Menardi but that would be a weird combo.

These bosses shown off will def be in the "new" story mode.

Personally I'd like to see Mia as an assist trophy to use a mix of Mercury psynergy and healing. Saturos and Menardi would be good choices for a boss battle (even though they are dead).

That, and everyone thinks Soren is a random-ass choice, when he was actually popular at some point in the past and part of the Brawl-era polls.

The character choices in this leak seem so weird, it reminds me of when the full roster for Smash 4 was first rumored and how it didn't seem credible at all at that time. Prince Sable also seems like a very WTF type of retro character, which Sakurai always seems to include in each game.

It's been a long time. Now that even K. Rool has joined, I'm pretty optimistic that our Golden Boy is likely to follow him up, since there's not many big characters left other than Isaac, Geno, Dixie, Banjo, Rayman, Crash, Dee, or Lip.

Don't know how many of you recognized that fact yet but I wanted to point out that we are now officially the biggest supporters group on the entire smashboards by far. That excludes confirmed & deconfirmed characters like K. Rool or Ashley, obviously. Sure, it's not clear how representative that status is, but still it's a pretty nice fact to have.
