The one thing that's still suspicious to me is that each track only have one different composer (with the exception of the Main Theme) and STILL Motoi Sakuraba has yet to appear. Making me believe he's being saved for a Golden Sun track once Isaac is shown.

I'd honestly say Little Mac is a better comparison for Isaac than Pit.

1) Punch Out and Golden Sun were dead/dormant until they were revived in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Besides a Wii U rerelease of Punch Out, neither have had a new game since.
2) Little Mac and Isaac were both Assist Trophies in Brawl.
3) Little Mac became a playable character in Smash 4 while Isaac was MIA (reasons unknown but he wasn't the only missing AT from Brawl).
4) Little Mac's promotion to a playable character, according to Japanese reactions, was more to do with demands from Western fans. This is similar to Isaac if exit polls for the ballot are to be believed.

On an unrelated note, if the stage count is truly 103 rather than 108, that doesn't necessarily mean a new franchise can't be added since ROB does not have his own stage, despite being playable since Brawl, and back in Melee there was no Fire Emblem stage for Marth and Roy.

The game was given an ESRB rating over a month ago, so I do think that the odds of it happening are pretty low (not impossible though). If an ESRB employee had taken pictures/video of the game and wanted to leak them, it probably would have been done not long after the rating was given.

I think we’ll probably know the entire base roster in 2-3 weeks. I know that Sakurai is trying his best to keep everything safe and unknown. But judging by how things are going with over half of our unique newcomers being leaked early, I’d be surprised if we don’t get a full roster image leak pretty soon.

Next week to me will be the last week of wait. I'm almost sure of it, of course can't say 100% because i would be full of BS lol. Next week is the last of October and has the first 4 days of November at the same time. If Nov 2 has the release of the special edition box thingy, promotional material like that and beyond will either finally be confirmed to spoil things or not spoil anything at all (the latter being what i've believed from the start and nothing changes my mind still, it's stupid to believe they would release promotional stuff spoiling things before the last reveals). Not to mention it's halloween week and the weekend is the start of the first location event on Japan, Tokyo i believe. If for some reason it's not next week, the one after HAS to be it, cause Nov 7 is literally a month away from release date and it just makes sense as well there. Anything beyond Nov 7's week is already too late imo or too risky for them to be holding back the last reveals, considering review copies and such might be already on the works and soon after will be sent during mid November or something. So yeah, either next week or the one of Nov 7, I don't see us having more than 2 weeks of wait now.

We can only hope. The wait is the worst part about this whole speculation/hype cycle.

In my opinion with the current number of characters in ultimate they can add 6 characters at most to make a total of 80 I won't be surprised if they add Isaac Shadow Skull Kid (missing ATs and popular characters) Ken and Incineroar (Vergeben) for that.
BUT They could also add more than that since in the previous smash they had 58 characters (51 without DLC) that could be a reason to not stop at 80 also i can see that a lot of people want popular ones like BWD Shantae or Banjo Kazooie.
Don't forget Felix as an echo for Isaac this one is as important as Isaac in GS imo he is the one who tried to save the world in the first place and he saved Isaac at Jupiter Lighthouse (yeah i know he should have partnered with Isaac earlier, but here it is. btw Isaac may be a Venus Adept but i can't see him use Sand psynergy since in the game he doesn't seem to have stopped at Gaia Rock in his pursuit).
Felix Isaac for smash (i really want those two to be in) and i want to see BWD and Shantae too.

See the whole he can get in without a stage is what feels really like reaching. Fire Emblem had a planned stage in Melee iirc and ROB is weird in general with a less apparent stage choice outside of Gyromite and Gyromite isn’t something I’d call all that easy to work with.

Every other new character of a new franchise has had a stage from Brawl onward that had a sensible location for one (Unless they already had a stage like Animal Crossing and Villager and he got two lol). Both the new franchises in the game are among the entire four new stages we have. I don’t believe for a minute we can get ANY new franchise without a stage. Isaac, Shantae, Banjo, etc. all are reliant on there being more stages in the game than the 103. For the record, I believe we’ll see another new stage, but I do think we need additional stages for new franchises as the past two games and this one currently have shown.

I don't remember much about SOnic music in Smash, since honestly I've never been huge on the franchise.

Naw, not a supporter of Phoenix for Smash. I always thought his MvsC3 counterpart was good enough for me. However, I do like Ace Attorney! I love games like that, that make me think and solve puzzles. Not to mention it's fun and infinitely meme worthy xD That OST, the characters and the mechanics are always brilliant.

I see. I saw PW being in MvsC3 an odd move until AATrilogy became a thing on the other platforms other than the Switch. And nice. Great games they are. : D

That's exactly how I'm thinking. When all hope is lost and we are only getting less than 3 characters, Sakurai comes to save our sorrows and reveal 6+ more characters including our own Golden Boy.

I don’t think Shantae has much of a shot to be honest, I don’t think she got enough support during the ballot (and maybe it’s overstated even now). I can think of around ten unique newcomers I think would get in over Shantae.

I still think she has a better chance than Steve though.

I think she has a good chance. I remember seeing a big push from Wayforward for her inclusion during the Smash Ballot. And with some of the evidence of her being in Smash Ultimate, she seems very likely. I can't say for sure yet, but if she isn't in base then DEFINITELY DLC.

My headcannon believes the purple and yellow chairs hint at Isaac (yellow scarf) and Shantae (purple hair).

I have talked about this before but after reading Sakurai’s interview after the Belmont’s got in I just have the feeling we won’t be getting anymore 3rd party characters in the base game that are from companies not already represented. With how Sakurai talked about how difficult it can be due to licensing and the money involved I think future 3rd parties fit much better as paid dlc as that will easily help pay for the cost of that character being in.

With that being said, I believe she has a good chance during dlc time. Shovel Knight is already out of contention for a spot and there are some strange hints to her being in Smash in some way. Right now the only 3rd party character I think would be easier for Sakurai to add at that point is Rayman due to how good the relationship between Nintendo and Ubisoft is right now. Some people say Steve or Banjo but I don’t believe it’s gonna be easy to make a proper deal with Microsoft until I actually see one of them in the game.

So yeah, I’m not sure about base but she has a great chance for DLC.

I really think they're setting themselves up for disappointment. Playable expectations reigniting upon a more popular, likely candidate within the same "field" being revealed as an Assist is fundamentally flawed. Similar mental gymnastics would see Crash as an AT and then expect Spyro as playable.

Hoping for the best is fine, but I'd advise them to, really, keep expectations in check. She'd be lucky to be an AT.

To be fair since we have been using this as a proper indication of how the ballot votes went. Then it’s clear Shantae had quite a lot of support in the ballot.
