Sunrise, Sunset - Isaac for Smash Ultimate #GoldenSunday

I can personally only imagine 2 Nintendo Directs before December 7th. One of them would probably be a Smash only direct like the 50-Fact Extravaganza close to launch, and possibly another General Nintendo Direct again or a Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee Direct to try and sell more people on that game. Or alternatively, it could be another random drop
ultlucina: reveal all over again out of the blue with more characters than anticipated, then have time for another direct to sell LGPE hype later in the month.

I'm going to say 2. I see one of two scenarios happening:
1) A unique character reveal in October via either a Smash mini-direct, trailer upload, or Pokemon direct. Then, a Smash direct in early November
2) A Smash direct in October and a 50 Facts Extravaganza-like Smash event in early November

This is my belief too. A generic Direct and a Smash one. Sakurai has too much in hiding with now just two months left for there not to be Smash one.
Hmm..I think I said that back in the 1-250 pages era. Good times. XD

Yeah but wouldn't it cause amazing pandemonium to still have a reveal or two with only a week til the game comes out? :3cI can see any of the three happening, though I'd lean more towards 2.
Having a Character reveal on, like, the 4th-6th December would play all sorts of havoc with the marketing.

Definitely ballot results and beyond. Isaac's already long been on the radar from his assist in Brawl. It makes sense for his popularity to only grow, his assist being removed in 4 further pushing the outcry.
There's also probs been plenty of requests over the years that have asked for a Golden Sun character in general just like how Cloud was born from wanting a Final Fantasy character playable.
If Sakurai was able to pick out fans want of Dark Samus amongst all the Ridley support, than no way is he not aware of fans wanting playable representation of one of Nintendo's notable IPs yet to receive a character.

Hard to believe it was only four years ago... If memory serves right, I think it was what, a day or two before the reveal of Robin and Lucina. It was right around the time when Rayman's trophy was shown off, and not too long afterwards. I doubt we'll see something like a random drop trailer like that again, but I'd love to see it. Maybe a bit more frequently if there are more than just two characters left.

Maybe for a Smash 6, but I think given this close to release and the small number of newcomers, it's more likely than ever all reveals will be in Directs as the newcomers won't be fighting tooth and nail for a space.

Why do you guys think that if Isaac is not playable he would be an AT? The only returning assist trophy from brawl that was not in Sm4sh is Gray Fox and
that´s because his presence is linked with Snake´s

Because while the polls may not be 100% accurate, they’re accurate enough to know that Isaac had huge ballot support. And we cannot imagine that being completely ignored. Even Shovel Knight made it as an AT. Isaac had more support in every poll, is first party, and has already been an AT before. He won’t be left out completely.

I honestly think Isaac is playable. It'd be krool for Sakurai to deconfirm him so late in the game unlike Ashley, Waluigi, Bomberman, and Shovel Knight, but who knows.. Maybe he is one of the big names for DLC?
When it came to K Rool and Ridley I always saw them as game sellers rather than DLC simply due to how important DK amd Metroid are to Nintendo as a whole. I actually never played Golden Sun so I wasn't sure how big of an impact it had on people until coming to Smashboards of course.
Base game or not, I still feel it in my gut. Isaac is playable. Isaac and K Rool fans were seemingly very close after Smash 4 with K Rools OG partner Ridley being cemented into boss status. Both of these characters seemed forgotten. One of them was brought back. I have no doubts we'll get the other.

If he was left out completely, there would be an uproar the likes have never seen. Then again, that uproar would make the support for Isaac no longer go unnoticed. Like Waluigi, Isabelle, Inklings, Ridley and K Rool. Eventually characters become too big to not be added in.

Know what also does good for our situation concerning Isaac in Smash Ultimate? That besides Chrom, we haven't seen any new sword characters yet. And Chrom is just a Echo. This thought popped up to me today, and I think it does really good for Isaac.

It is way easier to be pessimistic when you are on the inside of your characters speculation day and night, praying it will come to pass. I have good news for you though. You guys shouldn't worry too much. Don't be like me.. I was in denial that K Rool would ever happen, until the very last second of seeing his splash screen.
Now that I stand on the outside of speculation having got all I ever wanted, (minus Crash Bandicoot lol) I can say that you guys are in the perfect spot. This character is a "necessity" for this game to be ultimate. Isaac, K Rool, and even Banjo were always neck and neck in Western polls.
The final roster has Isaac in it. Mock my words. A little positivity goes a long way, but you don't even need any more hope. You have done it for yourselves. JUST LOOK AT THIS THREAD!!! Over 20,000 posts. Surely this won't be ignored. I will be just as shocked as all of you if he is not in this game.
He deserves it. No doubt about that. Here's a short but funny story. I have one friend out of many that has actually played Golden Sun. Ironically enough...his name is Matthew. =) Keep your heads up. The sun always rises again.

. I still think that those two additions where kind of the number one reason Isaac didn't make it last time. And in terms of looks, I still DO think that Isaac will look quite a lot like (especially the hair and overall face). It might be a pro-factor to Isaac making it honestly.

I know GDorf has a sword, but when he wasn't using a sword, it felt so powerful. It made it more imposing. "I don't need these useless weapons".

- A mixture of an Arsenal of weaponry, basically the one man army brought to life. - Fencing and fancy sword play mixed in with a bit of sword magic. - Brutish Sword play mixed with a heavy weight brawler. - Strong slow attacks that hit like a truck. - Slow sword moves that also utilizes a trade off system to increase/decrease certain attributes of stats.:ultrobin- A mixture of magic and sword play.
- Fast and frantic fighting style that fits an assassin. - Typical anime protagonist swordsmen that adds limit break from the Final Fantasy series. - A mixture of different types of sword fighting styles. - mixes sword dance fighting with Dragon transformation attacks.Not one character nor does any sword fighter manipulate Earth like Isaac does. And depending on the type of sword Isaac uses, mainly long sword, he has the potential to be unique in the sword fighting department.
Roy's proportions are similar to Isaac so using Roy's measurements could be a great base for Isaac's model.

My one major fear about Isaac is that I feel so dang confident about him now that I'm basically setting myself up for disappointment. Like, if he isn't in the base roster or an AT, that's basically saying to me that he's on deck for DLC, and if he misses even that? I can't imagine how awful that would feel. I definitely want to stay positive, stick to what we know and how well it all bodes for Isaac, but I alsothought he would be in Brawl, and then I thought he would be in SSB4, and now I can't help but question that feeling that he's even more likely than ever for Ultimate.

I will say 2 directs as well. And I say October and November will be the months. (Not December because they are kinda unusual and only used to happen many years ago now.). Also last year there were 2 focused games directs , one for AC and one for Xenoblade, one for October and the other for November… we don't have any other big games going on this year for holiday aside from Smash so I figure this is the perfect time for both months to focus on Smash, it just makes sense, since they still got stuff to talk about and reveal. Stay hyped guys, don't lose hope.

How would he be a gateway character? Bear in mind I think Kingdom Hearts is meh so I am not totally for or against Sora. But as far as I know he has never been part of anything except games (I could be wrong don't have time to reaearch at work) unless Disney demands that in return for using him they can add other non-gaming characters later as either DLC or the next game. To which I am sure Sakurai's response would be "never mind I don't need him in my game THAT much" So as far as your fear of this is concerned I highly doubt that as long as Sakurai is in charge of Smash that this will happen.

If Isaac is in Smash I hope for 2 things
One) He's alts are like Ike. 4 Young Isaac 4 Adult Isaac
Two) He uses more Psynergy then sword play
Bonus would be one of his Alts drinking Formula 50 Vitamin water, but that is a pipe dream

I feel like only one direct is really a lock... but even then I'd also expect some kind of trailer drop as well. I think that's the bare minimum.
I think there's a chance for another direct though... maybe a mini smash direct in October that reveals some kind of 50 fact extravaganza direct for November or December.

I'm half expecting him to randomly drop a trailer on the 5th of December revealing a character like Chibi Robo or Dillon. Just because.I can see any of the three happening, though I'd lean more towards 2.
Having a Character reveal on, like, the 4th-6th December would play all sorts of havoc with the marketing.
I'm thinking banjo takes it with 53%. Hes definitely the most popular newcomer but Isaac is close
I noticed Phoenix Wright is still alive in that poll. Can someone please explain to me why he is so requested for smash? I've never played ace attorney so I wouldnt know, but where does any idea of a moveset for him even come from?

Isaac has consistently gotten more votes than Banjo in this series, so I think we can win. It'll be close, though, no doubt about that.
Also, holy ****. Geno beat Crash by two votes. That's razor thin.

Which still currently remains the only screenshot that Sakurai has tweeted out personally and chosen amongst all the other pictures on the website as if it was planned to have the screenshot made for Sakurai to tweet out. Which also just happens to bear so many similarities to Golden Sun. A good chunk of Isaac's current rise in popularity and recognition in Ultimate's online speculation scene happened because of that tweet.

I think Banjo may win but it'll be close and I wouldn't be that surprised to see Isaac take the victory either.
It's kind of bittersweet for me since they're my top two most wanted.

I think that Banjo is more popular all in all, but Isaac holds the advantage when it comes to the demographics likely to take this poll - /r/smashbros, /v/, SmashBoards, and GameFAQs are very supportive when it comes to Isaac, and Banjo hasn't been at the top of the polls for as long as Isaac has been.

You know... I'm really jealous of you K.Rool fans. His trailer, intro and music are perfect. Especially the remix of Gangplank Galleon, it absolutely embodies the fact that you guys have been waiting forever for his grand return. That being said, I am really happy for you guys, your message made me remember how I felt the second the august direct ended

I think we’ll either get two Smash Directs, one in early October and one in late November, or a General Direct in October, a Smash Direct in November, and a trailer dropped sometime between them.
Most of the support probably comes from the fact that he’s awesome and iconic.
Well, if it’s the moveset idea you’re looking for, PW was in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and that proved to a lot of people that it’s possible to make a great moveset out of him.
