Hi there, please throw me on this support list if you don’t mind!
Somehow I’ve never left a reply on this thread, despite Isaac being far and beyond my most wanted character for quite a bit. I’ve always been more of a lurker on these boards, particularly on this thread for some reason, but I really wanted to throw my support out there.
I’m feeling strangely optimistic about our boy’s chances for some reason and these leaks are getting me really pumped. Obviously, they’re fake, but just seeing Isaac’s name pop up so frequently has got me super excited and hopeful about his popularity. I loved rooting for him during Smash 4 speculation, and am ready for another fun season of hype!

Actually Isaac is 14 in the prologue and 17 in the main game. Also TLA hints to almost a year difference ( well 9 months for sure) so by the end of TLA he could be 18.

It doesn't say that they'll just be uploaded suddenly does it?
If it is true it'll probably be like the Robin/Lucina reveal we'll get confirmation a day or so before saying that a newcomer trailer is going to be posted.
It wouldn't be that strange since as I said it has happened before.....plus Pokemon does that all the time when revealing new Pokemon. They just post the video on YouTube.

I get the feeling if Isaac's in the game, we're not getting his reveal until August or September. At this point, I just want to know the next newcomer so we can see what direction the game is taking with them. If it's someone like K Rool or Geno, we'll know it's a fanservice roster, whereas if it's a curveball like Spring Man (As unlikely as that is) or a Gen 7 Pokemon, I'll be more inclined to believe there's a mix.

Guys, I found a Golden Sun leak!
Golden Sun
5 - Smash 5 (duh)
Whole Grains - Grains are plants and Isaac can grow plants, no-brainer really.
Microwaveable - You put things into a microwave. This can only mean Sakurai has put Isaac into Smash.
Source of Fibre - Confirms it is a reliable source.
2 in a Red Circle - Red has 3 letters. 3-2 = 1. This means Isaac was priority number 1 for this game. Would also explain why they are keeping him secret until later.
We made it, boys.

I would certainly still buy them on 3DS but that's if NoA would even release them over here. They haven't been too keen on taking chances lately.

They bankrolled the translation of Bravely Default when Square didn't think it would sell over here, and it sold well enough to earn an official statement from the President of Square that they were sorry for misunderstanding their fans.

They won't remake them on 3DS, Nintendo isn't really making many more 3DS games.
If the first 2 Golden Suns are going to be remade, Switch is where the moolah is at. Unless the game has already made decent amount of progress on 3DS and we just don't know it.
Really hopeful something like that would be on the Switch though. Dark Dawn launching in the super late years of DS didn't do it any favours either.

Depends how many newcomers and Directs we're getting.
Nintendo Directs are more like 3-4 months now than bimonthly during the Smash 4 scene. However, I seem to recall Nintendo mentioning that they planned to show off more games that weren't at E3, so we could get another legit direct in August, and a full on Smash Direct in October (which could have 2 character reveals instead of one). I do suspect at least one trailer will get the Robin/Lucina treatment; perhaps the site update is "stay tuned for a trailer tomorrow at ___!" And then the trailer has a coutdown, and after the trailer goes up, that day's update is the character with their profile.
Echoes I think can just be revealed through the site without fuss. We might be waiting until August for a full blown newcomer.

Personally, graphics don't really mean much to me. That said, the remake I would like to see is Golden Sun 1&2 being in the same package. Past the start screen, you're given the choice whether to play Golden Sun or Golden Sun: The Lost Age. If you choose the latter, there could be a new option that would allow you to transfer Clear Data from the first game--one that doesn't require you entering a six-page password. You simply select the Clear Data you want to transfer, and that's it. Honestly, that was mine biggest qualm with the Wii U release of the Golden Sun games. You still had to type the damn password.
Again, until proven wrong, I'm calling shenanigans on the July 9th leak. Then again, I could see them announcing newcomers soon. I fancy a better demo of Smash Ultimate will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show in September. That said, announcing a newcomer beforehand, then adding said newcomer in the demo would naturally attract more attention. [Shrugs] At any rate, we'll know soon enough; just a few more days.

Yeah I think the July 9th leak is completely bogus. Presumably some reveals will be tied to Directs, and while I believe Nintendo has the general time of year for Directs already planned, like "late summer" or "November" or something, the exact date I think gets chosen more in the short-term, based on reading the terrain both internally and externally... not half a year in advance.
And that's without even considering the actual content of the leak. Or the fact that the leaker couldn't spell Isaac right.
But I guess we'll find out next week.

You know, one of the first things I thought about when I saw Octopath Traveler was Golden Sun.
The battle effects kinda reminded me of it.
I'm kinda split on wanting remakes to be 3D or sprite-based/2.5D.
Having detailed 3D models would be awesome and releases and summons would probably look amazing.
But I feel that sprite-based work has more flashiness in some way? If they really put everything into it anyway.

I think Golden Sun might take on a Pokemon-like perspective: either top-down or isometric in the overworld, then 3D once you enter a battle. Cutscenes could go either way. Maybe they just occur on the overworld or they could be their own video file ala Xenoblade.

suggested. Camelot is a small company, and the 3D requires a lot of people to make it. And also, for Camelot itself would be cheaper using their motor engine, which included the mini world map of Mario Tennis Ace, rather than creating one from the grounds.
Are there any screenshots of the Mario Tennis Ace map? It could have some elements (or similars) of the hypothetical overworld map.

Nearly identical in perspective, although you can't walk freely but instead follow a "rail" indicated by the markers. All of the environments are pretty typical (beaches, forests, ruins, mountains, etc.) and would be pretty easy to pull assets from as a base for a Golden Sun overworld map.

All lies and shenanigans. Vergeben only posts on GameFAQs and Reddit. This is just an imposter. Second, he didn't predict that every past Smash character would return. He only predicted Snake and Ice Climbers (not even Wolf for some unfathomable reason).so there's this leak i found
All of these predictions are much too vague and safe anyways. The exceptions are the Fierce Deity final smash which has been commonly predicted anyways, and All-Star/Classic going unchanged which is absolutely ridiculous. No way they won't improve on that when it was one of the biggest complaints about the Wii U version.

Isaac has always been one of my biggest desires for Smash ever since Brawl, and I must say seeing an intense amount of support for him is inevitably going to go a long way for him, whether it's for Smash or even for a GS4.
However, even if Isaac doesn't get in, which I hope he does, I also hope for some more Golden Sun remixes/songs to rep the series, there's a lot more iconic songs than just the 2/3 we got already

I kinda wished the blog would have new stuff instead of recapping what was in the E3 trailer and discussion.
The only constant is that once a week, a new music track is added to the website.
Last night, I had a rough dream about Smash Bros where they let in TV show characters and it felt awful to see that happen. Worse (for me), it was Rick and Morty, and i hate that show. This was followed by a Goku announcement.

Smash Bros Miiverse was one of the most fun parts of Smash 4 speculation, I also loved how since it came from Sakurai himself, he adds little comments to the posts as well
Between characters, stages, known ATs & Pokeballs, and a weekly music track... they could theoretically update the site with stuff we already know until release. However I figure once we start gaining some distance from E3, the completely new content (past music) will get peppered in.

I wouldn't mind that too much, as long as it wasn't super drastic.
I think I just want the story to have a better flow....and to not end the game on such an outrageous cliff hanger. To this day I feel like Dark Dawn had such an abrupt ending which made it just feel like a prologue to a much bigger game.

That’s one of the big problems with Dark Dawn’s story.
The entire game is a fetch quest to prepare for a bigger adventure.
Yeah, there are world ending consequences by the time you’re done. But it is still only getting you ready to take on the REAL threat by the end.
