*imagines a world where Golden Sun gets a new artist who draws in a more generic anime-style and the waves of complaints and arguments that would bring*

*side-eyes Fire Emblem and Xenoblade*
Dark Dawn had the same complaints tbh.

GS would be Nintendo's own Octopath, which is a good thing. People are craving a new JRPG. If Golden Sun is remade and uses online link it would be a killer.
Octopath doesn't really have much magic, does it?

Yeah, of course I know that now but definitely not back then. The Advance Wars games were different enough anyway that drawing a similarity is somewhat shaky. So much so, that people only remember Andy, Sami and Max if you even talk about the Wars games.

Advance Wars was pretty popular too, albeit not as popular as GS. Chances are that you probably played them both if you had a GBA, though chances are even greater that if you owned just one of the games, it was probably just GS. Though, I can't really speak for Europe so I'm not certain on that front. It didn't sell as well, but lasted longer with two titles on the DS which I didn't get around to playing until much later (but they're both very very good). I remember AW being a great game to play on the go and coming back to playing it for long hours but GS for being much more immersive. Both of them are very good for puzzle/problem solving in very different capacities.

Once again, IS is just as stupid as Camelot for not pursuing that franchise to its end.
I didn't play Advance Wars, I think I tried it via emulation years later and couldn't get into it.

Guys I finished Golden Sun "Smash-Named" run
everyone was between lv 26~29 when defeating Fusion Dragon
all Djinn
Crossbone cleared
Total Deaths
Isaac: 0
Roy(Garet): 3
Pichu(Ivan): 6
Zelda(Mia): 2

if Isaac gets revealed I will do the 9 years password to TLA and finish this with Felix Robin(Jenna) Kamui(Sheba) and ???(Piers)

also Isaac was the only one who didn't die... MAYBE ITS A SIGNAL THAT HE WILL BE IN SMASH!

I honestly imagine a world where Golden Sun was an ongoing franchise.

If Xenoblade is Nintendo's answer to Final Fantasy, Then Golden Sun should be Nintendo's equivalent of Dragon Quest. (Not quite the same, but you get the idea.)
If you read online forums from back then people were expecting Golden Sun to become Nintendo's next big franchise and get an installment on the Gamecube or the Wii. If Camelot retained their old staff and kept the series momentum going strong we probably would've been at the 8th Golden Sun or something and we'd probably have multiple characters from it already in Smash

Ironically, the parallel between the two companies is kind of interesting.

Days of Ruin was the final installment of the Nintendo Wars franchise, and after that, Intelligent Systems focused on Mario & Luigi.
Dark Dawn was the last installment of Golden Sun, and after that, Camelot focused on Mario Tennis and Mario Golf.

Seems like when something doesn't work out, the solution was "let's just make Mario games".

I know how you feel.

Fire Emblem had some of the most awesome sprite work on the GBA (it wasn't especially mind-blowing or anything, but it was great).

Real happy Etika gave Golden Sun some credit in his video. I personally think the leak is 100% fake but if there's some chance I'm wrong that'd be

GS has so much lore

They should do a reboot if Isaac is in Smash to test out the water.

GS 1/2 remake
Do a prequal about the light houses and the world with Alc and ancient cilvs
Then remake Dark Dawn fix a bunch of the mistakes and get rid of himi

Mario And Luigi is Alpha Dream.

However, IS works on Fire Emblem and Paper Mario.

Idk what it was but I could not really enjoy the GC/Wii FE
Maybe it was the 3d models or the classes. Story was good but man, FE6-8 are down right amazing, with FE7 having the best supports and story imo

And this is why I don't like Camelot anymore

My favourite FE game is still 7 (though that's probably partly nostalgia. XD)

Remakes would be great, also I like the idea of a prequel.

Regarding Himi, rather than get rid of her, just introduce her earlier so that we can actually get a handle on her personality.

I just thin after DD not doing as well Nintendo just told Camelot to make Tennis and Golf games since they sell.

I feel like GS can come back anytime as a remake. GS4 will never happen

I guess I have to be the stereotypical FE snob and mention Genealogy.

That’s a long name. Though, now that I think about it, Good Grief shares my initials.

For Golden Sun new game... I think first they should make the original idea of Golden Sun, doing the 2 games on one!

One first name, two middle names and one surname.

I'm pretty sure that name setup is fairly common in England.

Note: My first name is a weird one, and constantly mispronounced.

I mean, FE7 is good. But I wouldn't call it amazing.
Genonogy and POR will always surpass it, just because those two games had probably the tensest gameplay of the series.

Has Shining Force even had a measurable amount of fan demand to return? Asking honestly I really don't know

Shining Force was rated the 7th most demanded Sega IP to be revived.

Yeah. There is demand.

So, with classic mode, the fight's are themed with the character you're playing as each character has their own roster of opponents and stages.

What do you think Isaac's will be?

"anime swordsmen"

But nah, seriously, If he had to face any opponents
Ness and Lucas (also use psy powers)
the 3 Links (swordmen that deals with puzzles)
Robin (swordman/Swordswoman with magical abilities)

Well, I think it had more do to with FE’s near death that they had to switch focus onto FE for the sake of it.

Although GS and AW’s run are so similar. Unless if you go by the whole “Wars” franchise and all of that jazz, AW and GS both began on the GBA, became hits, had a sequel soon after, went a little on a hiatus with AW at least having a game in 2005 while GS didn’t get anything until 8 years later, and both died on the DS with DD and DOR. Although Golden Sun died to due to a mediocre game, while Advance Wars could’ve lived on if it weren’t for FE’s failures.

However, unlike Advance Wars, Golden Sun has Isaac who was huge on the ballot and has a high chance of being playable, while no one is really sure who to push for an AW rep and thus didn’t give a lot of support.

Sad, but if Golden Sun can have Isaac, hopefully it opens the door for Advance Wars, they were both in similar positions after all. Plus it would be nice to get two more GBA characters.

The two bosses that really gave me trouble my first time playing Golden Sun were Kraken and the last phase of the last boss. Had to retry those ones alot (didn't help that you so much dialogue and regular battles to go through for Kraken as well). I don't recall any other bosses screwing me up too badly (it's been so damn long since my first playthrough of GS though...)
