Truth. If indie characters start getting into Smash, then the series will go from having unique, legendary Nintendo and third-party characters to having flavor of the month characters that won't even be that popular in a few years. The series will stray from representing Nintendo's history, and instead will prove that anyone can get their character in Smash as long as they get enough supporters on kickstarter. The fact that Shovel Knight even got in as an AT surprised me.mimique said:

I wouldn't exactly call Shantae a "flavor of the month" character since she's been around since the GBC.
When the middle guy was completely expecting Chie from Persona, I think I had a momentary aneurysm. I'm as big of a fan of SMT and the Persona games as anyone is but I wouldn't exactly call a playable character "likely" in the least. He was also talking about Mikey from the Goonies in some random game from long ago. I felt like I was in the twilight zone in that discussion.
I mean, even if we were to get a SMT or Persona character, why would it be a random party member instead of a protagonist?
Yeah, and even then, wouldn't it be better to choose the SMT protagonists that are in the MAIN SERIES? You know, the one with a new main entry being made for the switch????
It’s from a profile on twitter. People were not paying much attention to it at first until after the August direct and many realized that his “speculation/wants” for Smash Ultimate were coming true. Especially when the profile randomly tweeted Chrom a few hours before the direct. So now people believe this person actually does have info about the game and is hiding their leaks by claiming all of these are what they want in Ultimate.

Pretty much the only big ones amongst the debate yeah. Although I feel like Banjo is lower on that list. Maybe that’s just my Isaac bias coming through.

That sounds right. Hopefully the polls were right and Isaac was pretty much the most popular out of these worldwide. Besides Banjo, I think the rest of these characters would have a good chance even without the ballot, but the ballot is Isaac's only shot.
I heard there was a lot of Kid Icarus content because Sakurai reused alot of assets from Uprising during development so that's alot of where it comes from
The Isaac one actually looks cool, the only thing that's weird to me is the hair color
I would wager the winner of the ballot overall was either Ridley, K Rool, Isaac, Geno, Skull Kid or Banjo and Kazooie.

And was Wolf and Meta knight really ever a "Villian" of the series? No. Of course not.
Metaknight was a villain in Kirby Super Star. Granted Marx was the bigger villain but still, that was one game where Meta Knight was actually a villain and wasn't just getting possessed every other week along with Dedede.
antagonists i guess. Wolf is more or less a villain, as he has worked or andross more than he has helped Fox
That Ken render would actually fit quite well with Ryu's, and the reason Isaac and Ken have darker than normal hair is because of the camera lighting.

But it's kinda strange that his position changes a lot. In Kirby's adventure, he's like a main villain, but he gives you health and power ups on the stage.
