Well at least Daisy could easily feat as a Peach echo... since she is literaly one.
Waluigi couldn't feat well as a Luigi or Wario echo... so the only thing that can make him a playable is develop a moveset to a spinoff character... hey at least we can kill him now!

My mind continues to be blown by Waluigi's popularity. He was always that character nobody ever chose when I was growing up. If anyone did pick him, it was to disgrace opponent, like picking Pichu in Melee. There's also still a large number of unrepresented first parties to choose from. Feels like a Mandela Effect. Have we really always lived in a world where he wasn't the most hated Nintendo character?

Anyway, I thought I was in the general discussion board until I double checked after writing that. To get back on topic, Isaac is awesome. He should use his sword, but only for tilts in my opinion. Too many worthy non-sword moves to pick just 4 for specials.

Well... he is praticaly THE LAST Mario character to "praticaly" put on the game after Toad, since well... everything else is just too generic, Paper Mario and Geno are like "Mario-other" characters... so of the "Main Spinoff line" Waluigi is the last with Toad...and you know, Fire Emblem have so many good characters to put that Mario fans want to put even to worst characters to compete in numbers XD (Nothing against Waluigi, just his fanbase)

The more I think about the Dance Dance Waluigi's moveset, the more I genuinely wished for it to happen. That would explain why he has such long legs.

I just feel like Isaac has too much potential as a fighter. His non-sword moves and his sword moves so need to be properly represented. But will Sakurai be able to balence it properly?

Since Wario has always huge upper body and arm strength (I'm glad that the Shoulder Bash is back), I feel Waluigi can specialize with different types of kicks being that he has long legs. Kinda like Sanji in a way.

Most of his sword attacks in Golden Sun are variations of the leap attack or him doing a dashing strike so I would be fine with it for a few attacks but I would want majority of his moveset to be based on psynergy alone, say 90%

Waluigi has really grown on me, to be honest. Among Mario characters, he's got one of the strongest personalities. It's the same reason why Luigi is so much more interesting than Mario. Mario is bland and forgettable. An everyman, with very little standing out about him. Luigi has so much more. As does Waluigi.

God, I just had a dream that someone datamined a Golden Sun logo in Smash but it was another Rhythm Heaven scenario where the logo was all we got. Neither of the songs returned either, but we did get a Vale rock remix of all things on a Fire Emblem stage. Weirdly enough the logo was based on the broken wheel from the Lost Age logo and didn't even really resemble a sun. I was glad my mind just played tricks on me, that wouldn't have been fun. Dream me was about ready to go and campaign for DLC.

I've got a thought that's worthy of the tinfoil hat, so bear with me.

Not too long ago, it was brought up that in Mario Tennis Aces, special shots were inspired by Golden Sun's weapon unleashes, the Japanese version contained a location named after Sol Sanctum, and of course, the game now has a world map that sort of harkens back to Golden Sun as well.

Aces' predecessor, Ultra Smash, was released at the tail-end of 2015, right around the time of Ultimate's project plan. This means that Aces didn't start development until 2016 at the earliest, if not 2017. The timing of these sudden references could be an interesting coincidence if Isaac were actually playable in Ultimate, since Camelot would likely be notified of his inclusion around the time it was decided on.

To my knowledge, Camelot hasn't referenced Golden Sun at all since they last spoke of fan demand being the key to a Golden Sun 4; not in a title of theirs at least. So, it's very interesting that they decided to do so out of the blue with Aces. It could be that they drew inspiration from the series in a desire to improve upon a lukewarm Ultra Smash with new gameplay mechanics (Aces has a lot of them), and that extended to also including Sol Sanctum's name.

However, if Isaac's playable, would it be farfetched to say that part of the reason GS is being referenced is because they knew of the spotlight it was about to get with Smash's plans?

Am I off my rocker?

To be fair, Xeno has the right to be a bit pessimistic and he seems to be a bit of a realist too. It's hard for some people to be completely optimistic and brimming with hope. I would take it with a grain of salt to be honest. Sometimes, it's hard to believe with a lot of doubt.

Still, better to have some people more grounded and realistic. Just so that our hopes don't go flying too close to the sun. As long as we stay with the fact that our boi may not make it and is possibly an assist trophy. We won't be as disappointed, but I do think Isaac should be playable after getting shafted for so long.

I don't think that Shantae is an Indie game anymore, since Wayforward is essentially a 2nd Party to Nintendo's 1st Party branch. She has had a game way back on GBC so she has real history. Still, who knows? Maybe she will make it and I never expected for them to show anything Smash related at the Nindies Direct. I am actually interested in a few games that they showed off, I love games with pixelated action and puzzles. I am also a sucker for Tactical Games.

I agree with you, people should be happy to have at least an Assist Trophy or a reference to their game series in Smash. People should be honored and not butt blasted about it.

There is nothing delusional at all about thinking something could happen, when there's no evidence that it can't.

Like, I don't think we're going to get a DLC AT upgrade either. Doesn't mean it can't happen. It means it's nothing more than a potential possibility. And people are being realistic because they don't think it honestly will happen. It's just something that is a fun hypothetical. It won't ever happen only will apply if Sakurai makes it clear he will never do that. Since he never spoken on it nor do we have a precedent set for DLC(we have had one DLC period. That was it) at all.

It would be delusional to think it would happen without a doubt. Wondering if Sakurai would ever do this is the complete opposite. Likewise, calling people delusional is getting into uncivil territory. Don't attack other members. Respect their opinions. Respect the fact people have fun hypotheticals. Respectfully disagree with others.

I think there is a difference between calling someone delusional and saying what they are thinking is delusional. In that regard, I do not agree with calling people delusional because anything is possible. Sakurai has the power to change anything he wants, but people do need to accept the fact that their character is an Assist Trophy. At least for now. People have the right to speculate as long as they are not pushing others down, or attacking others beliefs. Likewise, I believe that calling their idea delusional is fine, but as long as you respect their opinion and treat your opinon as an equal to theirs than it shouldn't be a problem.

Seriously, though. Let's at least respect each others opinion, no matter how farfetched it is.

Today's Blog post is Rathalos, and this is the second image for him.

While it might be nothing, it's worth noting that the target of Rathalos' fireball in this image is Lucas: a young, blond-haired JRPG-protagonist from the GBA.

The camera angle is also similar to the Camelot Angle, though it's mirrored so the connection is way weaker than last time.

Well the picture is taken on a GROUND szage with plants and rocks..so yeah it may be a connection somewhere...no?..

Still, who knows? Maybe she will make it and I never expected for them to show anything Smash related at the Nindies Direct. I am actually interested in a few games that they showed off, I love games with pixelated action and puzzles. I am also a sucker for Tactical Games.

Whoops! I plead my own ignorance than, that is my bad. Still, you think that they would have been by now seeing as how many games they made for Nintendo platforms. I do prefer Golden Sun way more than Shantae, but they do have a long history with Nintendo. Still I don't see Shantae as an Indie title, because of the long history they have.

Being an Eagles fan I got use to a lot of disappointment, however, no matter what I still supported em through thick and thin. People said it would be impossible for them to win the 2018 Super Bowl and guess what, they won, they beat the odds.

Now it’s Isaac chance, he has low odds compared to others, he hasn’t been leaked or anything. He’s got exit polls to back him up, maybe a screenshot that we are pulling straws for, however he’s got a huge supporting fan base, just like the Eagles.

So who knows, I got **** luck, Nothing ever goes my way in chance, however, if the eagles can do it I think isaac can.

Everything in smash from Sonics inclusion in Brawl to Robin joining over Chrom has gone my way to the point I just expect my expectations to join. so I have always had a positive attitude towards speculation. I mostly want Sora to join and I know it's unlikely, but my picks have almost always got in.

The video he had on twitter looked like the press only booth at E3. No Nintendo Ambassador were let in, we got to play hands on before the smash invitational however all the workers there didn’t know anything besides the demo.

So, I don’t know what to believe.

The important thing to remember about Loz, he doesn't have a hint of trolling in his discussions and words. He has mentioned both characters and only both characters, which actually align with his comments about K. Rool and knowing of 2 other characters like K. Rool (at the time he was only sure of Skull Kid, but now it seems he figured the other one was Isaac).

Just...something about him doesn't scream troll to me. He's less interactive than Vergeben, and hasn't actually said anything else since mentioning Isaac and deleting the tweet after anyway. Many of us on a discord server I'm on have sifted through most of his PMs and posts that went public, and we've come to the conclusion that he probably works with Nintendo on a script/information level. It's why he's able to leak the majority of a direct with relative accuracy (100% during E3 and I'd say about 80% for the August one), because a script can only allow him to assume certain things.

For example, he was scared to leak K. Rool because he wasn't sure if the text script he had implied K. Rool was playable, only that he was in the game (you can find his PMs he made public, they are clearly from before the August direct). When K. Rool was shown, he became much more sure about Skull Kid due to having a similar script description as K. Rool (I assume). And about a week later he became sure of Isaac, but has since dropped the Loz18 name and deleted the tweet.


Basically he hasn't gone off the deep end, I know for a fact he still talks to people on a private discord server under a different name (about the nature of his work and why he doesn't leak anymore for now). That's all I can say about it though. Essentially he COULD leak more for the next directs, but thats up to him and what he gets his hands on. It's up to everyone else to believe in what he's said over the past month.

I've got a thought that's worthy of the tinfoil hat, so bear with me.

Not too long ago, it was brought up that in Mario Tennis Aces, special shots were inspired by Golden Sun's weapon unleashes, the Japanese version contained a location named after Sol Sanctum, and of course, the game now has a world map that sort of harkens back to Golden Sun as well.

Aces' predecessor, Ultra Smash, was released at the tail-end of 2015, right around the time of Ultimate's project plan. This means that Aces didn't start development until 2016 at the earliest, if not 2017. The timing of these sudden references could be an interesting coincidence if Isaac were actually playable in Ultimate, since Camelot would likely be notified of his inclusion around the time it was decided on.

To my knowledge, Camelot hasn't referenced Golden Sun at all since they last spoke of fan demand being the key to a Golden Sun 4; not in a title of theirs at least. So, it's very interesting that they decided to do so out of the blue with Aces. It could be that they drew inspiration from the series in a desire to improve upon a lukewarm Ultra Smash with new gameplay mechanics (Aces has a lot of them), and that extended to also including Sol Sanctum's name.

However, if Isaac's playable, would it be farfetched to say that part of the reason GS is being referenced is because they knew of the spotlight it was about to get with Smash's plans?

Am I off my rocker?

I like this theory. I don't want to kwep getting my hopes up but this thread makes me believe more and more every day.

I have a feeling Birdo is more disliked than Waluigi.

Waluigi is a common pick among the people with whom I game. I know a lot of trolls.

But getting him would make them happy, which would make me happy. So I'd be fine with the WAA. But obviously he's not getting in any time soon, the tinfoil hasn't seeped into my brain just yet.

if the Demo was in your hands AND you could datamine it... what would you do?
I would make a fake leak using half unbeliable truth and half belieable lies (Like... Guys Geno and Skull Kid are in the game but Geno is a AT)

I would leak absolutely everything. That way, anyone who didn't want to know who's in could just not look at it. No reason to keep part of the truth for myself.

Basically he did have other info on another character aside from Skull Kid. He's only had info on 2 characters after the August direct. After that, hes only ever mentioned Skull Kid and Isaac, 2 characters. He's never contradicted himself, he's never baited a discussion about it, and he's never added more to his leaks to keep the hype going or the attention drawn on him (which is SUPER common in most fake leaks).

Because of this I'm more likely to not believe Vergeben in this case, who has consistantly (and randomly) given out more information about characters in random threads (Ken and the SE Rep were random responses), but I digress. I do believe both have different pieces to the same puzzle, but I actually trust Loz more personally. That's just me though.

? Since when were any of those disproven? Better yet, he could have just misinterpreted the information, which he's already said was scared of happening with K. Rool.

Think about this for a moment: You have script info that describes the K. Rool trailer. You read that the main nintendo heroes are battling their respective villains in various shots, then out comes D.K. fighting K. Rool. Everyone and their mother would think there was a hero/villain theme going on.

If its assumed that he also has info beyond the direct (Skull Kid and Isaac), then we have no idea if either of those things aren't true.

So no, we don't know if he's lying. Not yet. Not at all.


Edit: And you are focusing on basically the 1 thing he got "wrong" (the modes) in the august direct when literally 80% of the rest he got right. He's lying? Really lmao? He described most of the direct again.....

Sakurai giving the confirmation of referring to the ballot for characters and stating how requested characters have been upon their introduction got me expecting Isaac to show up. Putting my eggs all in one basket cause if Isaac can't get in a fan based roster smash, he's never getting in.

Within 60 you'll probably know nearly all of them (via a smash direct around that time). By day 85 we'll likely have the entire roster leaked or fully revealed by Sakurai lol (~2 weeks before the game comes out).

I don't think it's safe to use any leaker, reputable or not, as proof anyone is in right now. Even the two most reliable leakers we have aren't perfect; Loz seemingly self-destructed and Vergeben's past record hasn't been that great.

Personally, I'd say the Others music tab not having any Golden Sun tracks is more tangible than anything they've said so far. Considering Motoi Sakuraba, Golden Sun's composer, has been hired on for Ultimate, it seems odd that not a single track would make it in, especially the Final Boss Theme on Norfair (Weyard on Palutena's Temple is an understandable cut). I say this is proof of either complete eradication of Golden Sun or that he's a hidden reveal with his own music tab.
