Adding to that, also the seemingly massive amount of people that will just go "lol imagine if Waluigi actually got in right? for the memes lol". I swear there's a couple of Reddit threads every day with people just making the most absurd Waluigi predictions, and upon being challenged, just going "lol i just want him for the memes". It legitimately taints the character in the eyes of a lot of people.
I don’t think any confirmed AT will become a fighter.

My only argument for that is if Isaac was an AT I feel like he would of been shown off. He was missing from smash 4 unlike Lyn.
The thing about Waluigi being constantly predicted to be in the game is that it just seems wrong to manipulate the already heartbroken fans when they're already down, and it just seems like you're trying to profit off of the gullible nature of the waluigi fanbase.
I wasn't saying Isaac will return as an AT? When I was talking about characters not being promoted into playable fighters I was talking about characters already confirmed to be AT in SSB Ultimate.

For base absolutely. As DLC it is actually still possible. There's nothing stopping characters from being upgraded through DLC. I don't know if he will or not but people really have to stop discounting the possibility.

Because they can. Because it's easier to start with a base already in the game. Because they've upgraded a character before. Because it would make fans happy. It's not like it's a stretch to see why they would want to.

But they've also only ever had DLC once and it was clearly planned in advance so there's never really been a chance for it to happen in the same game.
But why? Why make DLC that fundamentally changes one of the base components (in this case the Assist Trophy item) just because a few fans were unhappy with one aspect of it? Why go through all that work? It makes no sense.
It makes perfect sense. Most fans would rather have a playable version of the character and Sakurai's view on the character's popularity or moveset potential may have changed. Besides it's not like they are completely throwing away the work they used on the AT they'd be building from it, actually saving time.
I think we need to stop saying every blonde guy is a hint at Isaac if we want to not look like crazy people.

It's a better reason than what you're providing. It's not impossible and it makes a lot of sense. There's no reason to discount the possibility.

It also wasn't likely we get a third party in Smash. It also wasn't likely Ridley would be in. It also wasn't likely we'd get a new FE character without replacing the last one. It was also unlikely we'd have no cuts. It was also unlikely we'd get 2 3rd party characters from the same company. It was also unlikely we'd get a character that's irrelevant. You keep confusing what hasn't happened with what can't.
