A little off topic, but Reggie just got killed in the diablo 3 for switch trailer, so the head count is Mario, megaman, Luigi, and Reggie.(possibly King DDD too) When will the carnage end?

i managed to make a .cia for my CFW 3ds it runs like a charm

He also had a Skull Kid amiibo so he is basically confirmed (?)
I would actually prefer is Isaac didn't use a sword at all. I want him to use earth psynergy for all non special attacks (except grab HAS to be catch)
Then his specials would one of each of the 4 djinn. The djinn would be used and have a simple effect. Then after he uses the djinn the special would summon one of the basic summons ( Venus Mercury Mars Jupiter) after which you would have to wait until you can use the djinn again.
Final smash has to be judgement of course.

This whole post is worth reading, it's basically a summary of how the ballot effected K. Rool from the perspective of a source inside Nintendo, but I found this part particularly pertinent to our cause:
Hearing about this kind of stuff gives me hope. K. Rool did legitimately take the ballot by storm, and it got him included. Reading further into the post, it implies that now he'll also start recurring within other Nintendo games. DK might've been an active series, but as far as Nintendo was concerned, K. Rool was a nobody, a dead character, someone without a future in the cards turned into into a playable Smasher through sheer demand.
The parallels aren't lost on me.
For trailing close behind, at least as far as we can tell, was Isaac. We "filled out that goddamn ballot", we "made a campaign and petition and made ourselves vocally heard". We followed the exact same path, and the results showed that we made some pretty notable waves. There is hardly a single ballot-era poll out there in which, removing already included characters and no-hopers/meme characters, Isaac doesn't reside damn near towards the top. He's basically a regular of the top three. I've no doubt that K. Rool outperformed him on the ballot, but the ballot is clearly what shapes this game, and we did a helluva job promoting our boy back then.
The rest is in Nintendo's hands. However if there's any instance of Isaac's popularity proving its mettle, it was with the ballot. I'm glad it's finally kicking in, and I just hope it'll be enough.

People often theorize as to why Isaac was removed in Smash 4. It has always been possible he was omitted due to unrealized grander designs, however that, to me at least, was a very optimistic take. On the flip side it's also always been possible, as perhaps evidenced by this kind of reaction, that Sakurai and co. were simply unaware he still had demand behind him so far out from his games. You hear about how Nintendo secretly keeps tabs on the popularity trends of Smash candidates, but, how true is that really? As another paragraph in that post explains, they completely missed the mark when trying to predict the ballot.
They didn't have their finger on the pulse as much as they'd lead us to believe. Or really at all, since what they lead us to believe was basically a sham of an election. Ostensibly they were wrong about Bayo being an obvious frontrunner (possibly Cloud too if he was added under similar conditions), meanwhile the character propagated by the diehard Nintendo fans catches them totally off-guard.

I get that King K Rool was voted in solely in by fan demand, and i see that in a lot of polls Isaac is near the top. On one hand, i want to believe that Isaac was heavily voted on. But on the other, i don't think i believe such a thing could happen.
I try to be optimistic, and i WANT isaac in. But in the back of my mind, my subconsisness is telling me that i'll probably get a ported over music track.

It comes as absolutely no surprise that Bayonetta wasn't actually the top of the list for the ballot and was already being made before the results came in. Nothing against her (and I'm fine with her inclusion overall), but I didn't believe that she was actually the ballot's pick for even one second.Nevertheless, it is interesting to hear about how K Rool was actually picked because of the ballot. I hope so dearly that this is Isaac's time, and that he doesn't get overlooked this time. We've always been here supporting him. Credit where credit is due, I thought all you lot talking about how the ballot was rigged were a bunch of crazy conspiracy kids. I was super wrong. Bayo winning did seem strange to me, but I underestimated just how shady the whole staging process was behind the ballot. I mean it was one big lie, which is a pretty scummy maneuver to pull on your fanbase, even with the future intentions of utilizing the results.
Nevertheless, it is interesting to hear about how K Rool was actually picked because of the ballot. I hope so dearly that this is Isaac's time, and that he doesn't get overlooked this time. We've always been here supporting him. He has always been a perfect fit for Smash, and a character with enormous potential for a fun (to make for Sakurai/the developers and to play for us) moveset.
And me too! I have suspected the ballot is the driving force behind this roster for a while now, and that only bodes well for Isaac. ^_^

When Bayo was shown off NO one expected that, NO one. I don't think a majority of Nintendo fans even wanted her. Not saying she is a bad character, but for smash, it was not something the community wanted. The ballot was def helping the newcomers in this game

I actually really wanted Bayonetta (Not as much as Isaac, but still.) I LOVE her character and her games.
I just wish Nintendo would more upfront with Bayonetta already being worked on before the ballot ended.

Seeing King K. Rool get added makes me realize that Isaac, and Bandanna Dee...still are the 2 most wanted first parties that have come up so often in the past until present day that its almost a given for them to make it. Isaac has a terrific shot guys! After seeing K. Rool...literally ANYTHING is possible.........except Goku I hope..

The only 5 characters I keep seeing as far as newcomers go are bandana dee, banjo and kazooie, geno, skull kid, and Isaac. Almost every fake leak has these guys. On a side note if shadow is an echo fighter I hope they give him bayos witch time as a chaos control ability xD

I just now joined the boards and this is my first ever interaction and I just want to say, I didn't realize that Isaac had THIS much pushing behind him. I'm all for it. Sign me up!

I couldn't have said it better myself my friend.
Additionally the fact Ridley, Dark Samus, Daisy, SImon, and Chrom are in shows that they are at the very least listening to the fans if not the ballot as all 5 of them were characters that were highly requested the latter 4 since Brawl or before I think. And even other requested characters like Crystal (who never even was in a Smash game as anything other than a trophy I think) Bomberman, and Shovel Knight are assist trophies now all previously and even further Monster Hunter has Rathalos as a boss and AT and it may have a stage.
It makes me optimistic for other characters

That does make me hopeful, but at the same time I can't help feel pessimistic because Isaac didn't even get a Mii costume (unlike, K. Rool). I know I voted for Isaac like crazy, and everyone here probably did, but sometimes I feel like maybe that's it. Outside of a small group no one else really voted for him. I will say, I hope the ballot at least changes Smash's trajectory from here on out (not just Ultimate but future games) so that Nintendo does less just trying to rep their bigger/newer series or advertise or guess who the fans want and actually tries to listen to fans and add characters even if they're a little older or obscure.

About leaks I do feel that Nintendo likes to spread a lot of false information in order to weed out potential leakers and to keep people guessing until they finally decide to reveal. I'm hoping we get something soon but at the same time I'm not expecting anything for a while. I don't know if September will give us another Direct of some sort or not. But I'm expecting one in October for sure. That much I think is guaranteed.

And B the ones who got costumes are consolation prizes
Takamaru, knuckles and Ashley probably didn't have enough outcry for playable or it was complicated to get them in for playable

I never got huge into Golden Sun but I really like Isaac's design and I think they could do a lot of cool stuff with his moveset (And Felix is an easy echo for some extra love). Plus I feel like there's not enough GBA-Era love... All the retro love goes back to NES Era, and the Gameboy gems like GS feel kind of forgotten by time. You guys have my support

It may just be me, but whenever I looked at the default Mii Swordfighter, Isaac was the first thing that came to mind. He didn't even need to have a Mii Costume. Anyone else ever think that? The Swordfighter has the blonde hair, the blue outfit. and the sword. It was always a thought of mine when glancing at that Mii. The only thing its missing is the yellow cape.

I still have hope that interview just shows that there listening they really didn't know what we wanted till we told them and there listening we were vocal with our desire and it paid off so what Isaac didn't get a costume two assists have those and it didn't get them much guys this is our chance I can feel it. Stay hopeful my friends

There is this gnawing feeling (a good one) about the fact we didn't see any GS tracks and that they are supposedly removed from the stages they were a part of in 4. If anything that's as good a sign as any and the assist revamps have me thinking both good and bad about the possibilities. Also the amount of leaks having Isaac (and even Felix as an echo) have to mean something fake or not. I just can't help but be optimistic this time around. I probably don't know as much as most of you here but I'd like to think the chances are well around 50% or higher (probably around 70%?). Plus I like the idea behind a "The Sun, the Stars, and the Moon" idea for a Direct. Just sounds so satisfying...

The camelot angle on the post Sakurai made on twitter just doesn't seem coincidental, Camelot angle is not used in many other games, much less Nintendo games (or games that made it to any Nintendo console), is the same of what has been discussed for Skull Kid and the background of the direct: this is a meditated made staging, nothing is just put there without a reason. (The barrel and the whole wood cabin of the E3 foreshadowing King K. Rool ). So Sakurai posting that specific screenshot with the AT list on a side (and no trace of Isaac whatsoever) I feel it helps Isaac chances a lot

I'd love to be part of the support list if I'm not already on there. Isaac and Geno have always been in my top 10, and now are easily in my top 5.

Yep Isaac can use revive so everyone is fine
I also kind of hope they didn't look strictly at the numbers for the ballot. I mean, there's lots of ways to interpret data and a lot of different information you can get from it. Characters like Shovel Knight and Bayonetta I feel did well on the ballot (as evidenced by their inclusion and assist), but I also feel that they were lucky in terms of the timing of the ballot in regards to their own releases and if, say, the ballot was done today, they wouldn't have done as well.
So, you can look at the numbers in the ballot and extrapolate that okay this character did well, but they also had a recent release so they're also on everyone's minds which might explain some of their votes. Then when you get to someone like Isaac, even if he didn't get as many votes as some of the more "relevant" characters you can still say, hey, this character might not have done as well, but he's getting a ton of votes in spite of not having any games in a long time.
If I was in charge of the data, that would actually be more important to me than characters you can explain their popularity because it shows this character people actually find interesting, has a built in fan base, and has sustained that fan base in spite of no new releases. Those are the type of characters you want to revive (and I think the whole K. Rool post that was mentioned kind of shows this).
So, I mean, I hope they're doing more than just looking at votes, and instead analyzing the data by trying to put it in context.

Bayonetta's Ballot inclusion was and always will be a sham of Nintendo's doing. They wanted her in. I had never heard anyone speak of her unless they were the same person that also wanted Travis Touchdown. She just looked and seemed like she didn't fit the universe and imo, honestly still doesn't. Now we know for sure the Ballot meant squat besides fans having to show Nintendo who and what IS actually wanted/popular. People screamed of disbelief even seeing her revealed way back when. The majority of hardcore fans for sure didn't buy it as *she won*.
Its a shame that she was the final reveal as saving Cloud for the end would have made much bigger waves. Isaac's chances have only grown from all this fan service being put in the game. He is now seemingly, an inevitable addition.

And honestly, it's not like Bayonetta is out of place. One could argue that snake is as well.
I'm glad shes in, but i'm not glad around the circumstances.

Hey, I haven't seen any community of supporters left this big. And I take it most of us voted for Isaac in the ballot. And there are probably lots of others not on any support sites who have as well. So I am staying optimistic at least.

Of course not! The first time I saw Snake I was shocked too. Seeing characters from other darker universes is a very jarring experience. M Rated games especially. For me though, characters like Bayonetta and Snake and even sometimes when I glance at Ridley just look like they don't belong. xD It has to be the art style of their in-game appearance that messes with me.
Don't get me wrong! I am super happy we finally got Ridley, but his model adds a creepy vibe that we haven't seen before. Might take me awhile to get used to just like Snake and Bayo.

Well, Shovel Knight didn't get a playable appearance. I think that speaks for itself. Ridley probably didn't do as well as he could have due to being a boss already, but they still added him regardless.
