Sunrise, Sunset - Isaac for Smash Ultimate #GoldenSunday

I have never played Golden Sun. I don't know anything about Isaac outside of Smash Bros, but I'm supporting just because you guys deserve it. Isaac supporters imo got burned the worst among all the potential newcomers for Smash 4, by getting removed as an assist trophy. I don't even think he got a regular trophy. That's awful. Between that, and no new games, that utterly stinks. Yet despite this, you keep supporting. I'm hoping Isaac gets revealed not only because his fans deserve it for keeping up interest, but it might be the spark that helps revitalize the franchise.

Assuming it is even a hint to begin with, I don't think Sakurai would do such a thing. He has this reputation as a troll, but I don't really think that's the case. I'm pretty sure that IF Isaac is an Assist Trophy AND this was a reference to Golden Sun, he would have already confirmed Isaac's status as an AT and had him in the screenshot alongside the other three characters present.

(Unless the mode doesn't allow for more than one Assist Trophy to be out at once, but even still.)

Well to be fair, he'd been very highly requested since brawl, possibly even earlier. The only two characters I see that are still contenders since then are Isaac and Geno, which is why they're compared I guess. And yeah geno isn't really a main character, but he's gotta be popular for a reason, he's bad ***

AT are more than just annoyance, they can be KOed now (at least a majority of em)
What worries me is this, does Sakurai think psynergy is something that you can't put in someones move set?

If Isaac comes back, he can legit be an OP AT that can make the stage shake with quake and such.

That is why I am leaning more to him being an AT then anything else.


If Isaac is a fighter, he will get a kinda new look. Look at Roy, he has a overhal of his regular FE6 look, so I will be exited for that.

I am just afraid that isaac moves may be too complicated to be used for a fighter. If he is a fighter he will be on a very unique side of view.

If they can make robin work though, they can make isaac work, so idk.

Its because that image comes from the Assist Trophy page. Rathalos doesn't appear anywhere else on the website. There isn't a "Bosses" page or anything (yet, its somewhat likely that's going to go in the "How To Smash" page's unknown section).



I loathe it when Geno gets compared to other characters like K. Rool, Isaac, Dixie, etc. Look, I'm not against Geno getting in or anything... but Geno is a complete nobody by first-party standards, let alone third-party standards.


He's a side character (not even a main character) who appeared in one game like 20 years ago. Not only that but he's owned by a third-party company, making his situation even worse.


There is absolutely ZERO comparison between Geno and Isaac. Geno isn't just irrelevant. He's a completely unimportant nobody.

And again. I don't really have any problems with Geno getting in if by some miracle he does. But nobody should be comparing him to Isaac, let alone K. Rool or third-parties like Banjo, Crash, Lloyd, Heihachi, even Sora (who is in his own sort of licensing hell).

are you forgetting that Cloud is in Smash? Cloud, of all characters, is in Smash. Same company that made Geno. It's not hurting his chances at all. Geno is definitely not a nobody.

Regardless of it all, us Isaac fans, Geno fans, and every fan of their characters are in the same boat.

Honestly, the only characters to even argue against being in Smash are ones that are not VG characters like Home Depot, Shrek, etc.

the thing about Geno isn't really Geno, similar to Duck Hunt. I know this sounds weird, but bear with me, Super Mario RPG was the first time they allowed a company to use Mario for a game and go significantly hog-wild with it. If it wasn't for that game, or if that game failed in any capacity, Super Smash Bros. might not be around or the idea may have taken longer. Plus, the Mario RPG's could use a character too, and there really isn't much of another place to go. Paper Mario? Fawful? Midbus (as a Bowser Echo)? Yeah. Plus, Sakurai digs the character (which I'm sure he does w/ Isaac too, and despite the two bad signs, there's a lot in his favor)

As someone that's been a Geno and Isaac supporter for over ten years, we're better off uniting. I want them both heavily in lol. Can't stop thinking about it.

What Moveset would you actually like to see?
The Pm Build has kinda stuck in my head as the "perfect" representation. Neutral B Ragnarok, Side B Push, Down B Earthquake.
Having the grab Psynergy as his actual grab etc.
I'd only prefer his up b to be teleport rather than explosion.

Well Push is somewhat iconic, but i could totally see how someone could build a completely different Moveset from his sourvematerial. Spire or explosion as neutral B or growth as his down B.

Didn't use stretch in my post, but I usually use it to explain something that is, by definition, something reeeeally unlikely. For example, he feels that our Golden Sun theory is extremely unlikely, so he calls it a stretch.

As of now, it's a stretch, but a stretch that had the whole community talking. The screenshot just got us talking more about GS. If Sakurai was ready to legit mirror a battle, Isaac would of been shown off as an AT in that screenshot.

Out of that lot, Isaac is the only one who had a demand to be a fighter.

I've considered this idea, but he himself is too small to fit as a boss, so unless he's paired with Majora, it would be less complicated to just have him return as an AT.

Now stage music isn’t assigned, but rather shared between every stage of a single series. So Golden Sun music would play on a ‘Other’ stage, or on a Golden Sun stage.

He can summon more stuff as an AT, that is what gets me worried. Is he too complicated to be a fighter.

Hate to break it to that Shantae fan but King K. Rool had a big following back in melee, and the support for him continued to grow after each installment.
Shantae wasn't a thing until Smash 4 came around, so with that being said King K. Rool deserved to be in the game after 17 years of fans wanting him to be in Smash.
