Ugh, Omega, why do you have such a long sig? XD
I'm probably going to edit my options so SWF only shows 135 pixels for the height again.
how is this online preordering going to work?
do you put 5 bucks down on the dlc then pay the rest when it comes out?
No, it'll probably make you pay in full for the title at the start.

That's because it's not commercially available to download just yet, that theme thing sounds awesome though.

Funny thing is, I had to resize it, otherwise I would run the risk of infraction. :/

As usual, I'll main Ibuki and also use Ken and Q. Wednesday Night Fights is returning (and rather closer to where I am) so I'm hoping to get a lot of 3rd Strike Online practice with anyone since I've rarely played people in 3S to prepare for it.

I'm going to main Chun until I can get enough practice with Makoto's mixups
I've informed my friend that I'm going to become great with Q using his 3rd super(the one where he explodes).

btw, is there a limit to what projectiles bounce off Urien's Aegis reflector?
I'm sure someone nows this *cough*

Sooooo, whos everyone gonna main?

If you don't know my main yet you're ********.
Main:

Secondary:

:troll:

But for reals, I'm not gonna lock myself into a main. I'm going to try out all the characters, but I definitely want to try out Elena, Alex, Hugo, and Q.

weird
I was playing him against a friend a few days ago and he threw out a denjin hadouken and it just went straight through the reflector
Was it a fully charged Denjin? Those are unblockable so I can see how they might also be unreflectable.

Also, remixed music is up.

The remix of Urien's theme is bad imo, and I don't like how Elena no longer has bees in her hair. Akuma's theme is the only one I've heard that sounds decent so far, aside from that weird wolf howl at the beginning.

The remix of Chun's theme is totally inaccurate. Everyone knows that Chun's remixed theme is The ***** Is Back by Elton John.

I can't imagine the games online community lasting very long. Oh well it's going to be a fun couple of months living in the past. Can't wait for all the new school SF4 players to try fighting against 3S Yun.

Good, because the remixes are pretty terrible.

Man, I gotta say that I prefer the 3S sprites over the SFIV models. The attacks are flowing, and you can actually tell what's happening by its start-up animation.

Well, that's mostly because Capcom wanted people to be able to tell when or what to parry.
Too bad no one does that though and just option selects it.
But yeah, they put a lot of love into making those fluid sprites. I like SF4's for only like half the characters.

Anyways, can't wait to play you guys once it's out.
I'm still debating on getting the 360 version now.

Haha, true. I still suck at parrying, and when I do manage to pull it off, I'm so surprised that I usually don't do anything.

You'll get used to it eventually. It takes awhile at first.

Anyways, I DLed the demo off of PSN (on my Asia account) just to try it out.
The character trials are really easy. They only let you go up to 4 out of the 5 trials with only 3 characters.
Unless the 5th trial spikes up the difficulty, I'm pretty sure anyone could finish these.

SSF4 gave me a bad first impression of the SF series, but I kind of can't wait for the demo to be released and give this a try.

I won't be buying it anytime soon even if I do like it though. :/

I'm not a big fan of the SF series either, but Third Strike is definitely my favourite, and the only one that I actually enjoy playing.

You should give it a try sometime if you get the chance. :3c

VA baby whe' you at
SF4 is an awful street fighter to start with...

Anyway, might be getting it, I have never played it before and am slightly intimidated since it's been out for so long.

Any posts on the online would be nice, I expect good from ggpo

I think SF4 is actually good. It just has it's problems here and there.

Yeah, Rutger, you should give 3rd Strike a shot. I think Alpha might be more of your style, but 3S is like the next best thing in terms of SF. The parry system can feel kinda random at times which appeals to non-SF veterans, imo. A lot of people might disagree with me, but parries can be considered as a random comeback. It's really fun though once you get it down.

So people are feeling input lag on the PS3 version of 3SO. I guess we'll see if the 360 version has the same problem when that's out.
I knew something was off. I just thought it was my setup or something.

But who knows, it could be false and maybe it's all in my head.

I haven't noticed any lag, though I've only played it offline and on a CRTV.

I'm having trouble timing the super jump after Chun's SAII. Any tips?

You might be super jumping too late. Do it right when she does her last kick.
I'm pretty sure that was the timing.

It does feel a tiny bit laggy imo. Like, maybe two frames?
Maybe. It could be in my head after playing different versions.

I main Ibuki, but you're going to have to be specific if you want me to help.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Anyways, I got it for XBL. My tag is Rhapsody R

The online lag is weird. I was playing with a friend and frames just got skipped a lot

:phone:
Same. For some odd reason, MvC2's online feels smoother, but that might be because it's a faster paced game.
I've only won one match. The other matches I've lost since the opponent kept teleporting everywhere.

Seeing Q appear out of nowhere and hit confirming into SA2 sucked. lol

Edit: If online stays like this, I guess I can't use my Yun all that well.

A Q player using SA2.

Madness!
SA2 is actually good. I use it more than SA1 to be honest, but both are good supers for Q.
Really depends on if Q needs the meter against characters.

Making SA2 hit when it counts is a pain online though. :ohwell:

Okay, online is smoothing out finally. I'm doing pretty well but I'm still struggling against some good players. I fought some crazy Twelve, I didn't know what to do, especially as Ibuki.

Anyways, I love having good reactions and footsies for this game. Being just outside of a shoto's low forward and punishing with my own low forward to super is just so satisfying. Not to mention parrying bad reversal shoryus.

parrying in this game is crazy

it completely changes how you have to play, you just can't throw a random fireball cause know they'll just parry and move forward, probably punishing you for it

but i am liking akuma quite a bit

Well, for starters what's a good way to approach with her and what's a good bnb for her. All i really know are the trial combos from the game and I'm sure there's better ones out there.

She has some pretty good pokes. Crouching MK and Toward HK have good reach. Crouching MP goes far and is cancellable, but it's bad since it's kinda slow. To get in, you're going to have to abuse Ibuki's really good walk speed so spacing is important. Her best BnB is probably Standing MK into Raida (which is also a pretty safe blockstring). If you have meter, Standing MK into EX Tsumuji is good.

Basically the way to play her is space until you can safely walk in, and then start doing frame traps with her normals and threaten the opponent with throws or guessing wrong. If you get a throw, her regular dash is nice for quick mixups. If they block, stuff like jab to MK to her LK command dash keeps the pressure nicely. Just don't do the command dash by itself since if they hit you out of it, she takes more damage.
