Just a small update...

I got the Summer 2003 Nintendo promotional booklet, and although the game is listed simply as "Starfox," Nintendo is blatantly hinting that "Armada" may be part of the title--

...Classic team members Fox McCloud, Slippy Toad, Peppy Hare, and Falco Lombardi join forces with some new faces to create the most formidable team in the history of this celebrated series: the Star Fox armada...With several mulitplayer options-including four-player split-screen battles and a "wingman" cooperative system-this game gives true meaning to the word "armada!"

All of the information I can gather from the article is:

-Takes place "a few years" after Dinosaur Planet, when Lylat Center Command hears of a new threat in the solar system

-Star Fox team investigates, including Fox, Peppy, Slippy, and Falco
-You actually CHOOSE how you want to go through a mission
1. Arwing
2. Landmaster Tank
3. on foot

-Mulitplayer options include
1. Four-player split-screen battles
2. "Wingman" cooperative system

I also say a screen on another site featuring Fox shooting on the wing of his Arwing DURING flight, I don't know if anyone else has seen that...

Holy god! The last time I was in here all I heard was whining about how Krystal looked so blah! But now I come in here and whining is everywhere... Come on, Ladies! (Sarcasm) Lighten up a bit!

First off, the obvious has been stated numerous times... SHUT UP ABOUT IT ALREADY!

Ok. Thats done. Now. Lets take a look at the company who is making this, we are talking about Namco, who has always made people sweat, but ALWAYS makes great games... I highly doubt any of you actually cared about Soul Calibur 2 until you found out that Link was in it... (Proves how many N-FB's we got in here...) And I have to admit, a few times when I saw the old Tekken games when I had my PSX, I didn't like them at all... I hated the preview screenshots... But right when my brother got the game, I immediatly liked em'... every time. Namco does this. They make VERY good games. (Their Arwing sequences are gonna be sweet, admit or else get kicked in the groin. Anyone whos played Ace Combat IV for the PS2 will agree with me.) I dont know how well they can adjust to a third person movement (Like SFA) or a landmaster tank (Probably about as good as they made the tanks move in ACIV...)

So shut up and stop complaining, I swear... you guys are as bad as the anti-wind waker people there were when it was being released...And for the last TIME! STOP WITH THE KRYSTAL FLAMING! (May Bill and Katt both be in SFA... he he..)

P.S. The_rAT. I do believe Nintendo bought the rights to Diddy Kong from Rare, considering he now has nintendo on his hat, and he is also in the new Mario Golf game, as well as Double Dash, and quite possibly the next Mario Tennis game.

Oooh, all the stuff KI posted makes the game sound better than what it was.
IMO, what it's saying is that the Starfox Team is now bigger, and has more members. Which is quite exciting i think. I think it would be good if some characters only do certain missions. Like there are members of the team who can only drive a Landmaster, and cannot fly an Arwing.

Lemme see. The Starfox team consists of:

Fox McCloud
Peppy Hare
Falco Lombardi
Slippy Toad
ROB
Prince Tricky *shoots*

Adding more members to this seems pretty cool. Please let them put Tricky in this game, and hopefully it'll be in a cut scene in which he dies...

Hopefully this game will have some appearance of James McCloud. SFA did crap all to reveal him, except that stinking token, which tells you to believe in yourself.

Let us wait.

EDIT - Oh. My. God. I just watched the trailer, and i must say, it is the gheyest thing i've witnessed in uite a while.

Well anywho, I don't really see the point of multiple characters if all they are going to do is the same thing Fox can do. So far it looks like everybody has the same commands: Control arwing with same controls, Run around on foot with same controls, control landmaster tanks with same controls... I'm seriously thinking that character choosing is based off of what animal you personaly like :/ .

But that's just my opinion, and like smash_fan said, there might be some "This character can't opperate this machine" missions, hopefully Namco has planned out strenghts and weaknesses for each character, otherwise having a big group of farm animals would be pretty pointless don't you agree .

Oh for the longest time I thought my dislike of her joining the team just for the sake of Dinosaur planet was the dumbest thing ever! I'm so happy to see other fans like myself agree. I just had the register for that reason.

Just regiter for that?? What a dumb*** Kristal is cool and for those who doesn't think that they must shut up!!. Actually most of the people hates Kristal because, they think that she ruined the series turning it from a cool shooting game to a love and adventure game. Whats wrong with ya???

As for game mechanics I would to see a Jet Force Gemini kind of gameplay when you are on foot.That would be very coolish(yes, i inevented that word).In Arwing and Tank mode it should be in SF64 style.I hope when you move in the Arwing that they would give you freedom to move anywhere like SW:RSII.For wepoens(sp?)on foot grenades,plasma rifles(TS2 style),etc would be a great choices.

Thing is about Kristal is everything about SFA was corny. Fox couldn't bring his baster (what a name) because Peppy thinks he shot everything up. Like Fox has no self control. :o The Kristal was used as a sex pop for rescue, we have prince Tricky as a Star Fox member now. It was just wacked.

I only played SF64 and I loved it. I always wished to see Fox runs around and fight and now here's my chance. I'll consider getting it when its done and rewied.

Okay, this was bugging me. It's a NINTENDO based forum. The MAJORITY of gamers here are NINTENDO fans. Why would the majority of people, who only own a nintendo console want to talk about a game they might never even get to play? Sheesh. Oh, and who gives a **** about Final Fantasy X-2? Anyway... so Peppy's in the game? That's good to hear. Also... its sad that SFA is going to be considered a game in the series and that Krystal and (maybe) Tricky will be in. Ugh.

Then again, I have finally seen this game in action aaaand...while it's safe to say that it's definately not the prettiest thing I've ever seen, the game play looks quite good.
This is one game (besides SSBM) that my X-box owning friend may want to to play with me. I actually have a great time playing his Halo (feels guilty) and he likes Smash Bros. Another Mustiplayer game will be welcome here.

It would be nice if there where some modes in this to make it interesting. Like "Sniper haven mode" where players can only sniper. Or "Big bangs mode" where only explosives and Arwings can be used.
Players should also be able to enter buildings and break the windows for some sniping fun, and the game just HAS to have bots...with good AI...and you should be able to stick about ten of them in one level...

The possibilities for this game are incredible, I just hope Namco can do it right. Does anyone know how many levels there are? And what is the percentage complete?
This game looks good so far. But I'm still very wary...

It will probably have something that badly cripples it. Like the Wind Waker, which should have been longer.

What's more, I have heard that the controll sceme, although odd, "has it so that the player is constantly engaged in a frantic dance of death"

I just talked with one of the editors from that site.

He says that they got the info from Bergsala A/S which basically is the company that takes care of all things Nintendo in the nordic countries in Europe.

Though I totally agree Cash... if they are releasing the game in, say, 3-4 months then there's defintely enough time to do some polish.

As you can see the graphics have been improved a lot since last year, but they still ain't gonna win any graphic awards. However you have to see this game in motion to see how great it actually looks.

It's decent imo, but hey this is StarFox! As long as it has the gameplay then I'm fine with average graphics.

Game looks to be good, but there are currently better games around the Light House now.

I still think it looks like they're focusing way too much on the non-flight portions of the game, while the series' focus (up until SFA) has always been the flight aspect. I suppose as long as the on foot portions are just as fun and fit seamlessly with the flight portions, I won't care. But I keep getting flashbacks to Rebel Strike, a game that would have been perfect if the developers didn't try to add in half-arsed attempts at ground missions every other level. I agree with MK about the graphics... I couldn't care less. As long as the gameplay is solid, I'll be sold. It will be nice to have a 4 player arwing dogfight on the Cube.

I have only one thing to say: WHERE THE **** IS PEPPY!!!!!?????

I've seens all the artworks released for the game, but still no Peppy! If they replaced him with K..Kr...Kryst...that *****, then this game will suck, and so will Nintendo!
Oh well, more seriously, it doesn't look bad, though I wish they would emphasis more on the Arwing too. They still need to put Peppy in though.
