I was thinking about how Falco's laser makes people face toward Falco and I initially had silly ideas to use it.

You can't cross up an opponent with it into useful things, but you could help your partner do things with it.

My initial thought was hitting a partner Snake who is surrounded by people do an Up-Tilt on one person, face Falco because of a laser, and Up-Tilt again immediately, but that implies that the opponent between Falco and Snake would dodge a laser.

However, the obviously important idea is that you cancel your partner's cooldown time. If the opponent makes no motion to deal with you, the partner can spotdodge repeatedly.

Pretty much anyone with a fast, useful move can do something with this, but with a single move, you become predictable and would probably eat a powershield -> grab quickly. It is worth noting that some characters may have quick aerials that could be useful between lasers; try experimenting. Input is much appreciated.

Red means that the move has some sort of locking potential.

Green means that the move can gain usefulness or unpredictability by changing which direction you face when you start it.

Cyan means that the move goes under lasers, allowing for extra control (crouching) or combo use (letting lasers hit the opponent).

Blue means that the character can crawl under lasers, allowing you to easily chase and attempt to fight off opponents that jump over lasers.

Useful options are as follows:

tl:dr--I think this is the future of Falco in Teams, because I think Teams is just about abusing a character's handful of stupid moves over and over again.

Holy crap, thanks for making this! I actually just experimented a little with Teh Future last night with Falco and Marth's smashes. I've also used it with MK's tornado several times in the past, and it's awesome.

I think there is potential here as well, but no one has ever really tried it. Thanks for making this list, it's a great resource. Hopefully it helps Falco's doubles game.

diddy's jab lock only works once and it's only if the person falls from the air and gets knocked onto the ground

I wasn't aware that Diddy had a Jab lock, but, cool.

When I say "Jab shenanigans" in the sense of a lock, I mean that a laser can cancel the animation of a second jab, allowing you to start from scratch again. Of course, this is SDI-able, but so are most locks.

oh I see what you mean.

Diddy's jab lock is probably the most situational lock in the game...it only works if you hit with the back end of the jab while the person is hitting the stage from the air and only works once because of this, but it does force a get up.

Yeah, Charizard's seems to work in a similar way.

Ike's jab 1 > jab 1 is a true combo with 3 frames of leeway as it is, and it's too strong to jab lock.

What i think falco would be great at doing is just canceling Ike's post lag for 3%

Noted and fixed; thanks.

You're very much correct about preventing cooldown lag in general; people should brainstorm the best uses for that. I just listed the simplest ones from a neutral animation.

Mario can duck under lasers until his head starts moving from side to side.
Yes, but I can't think of any appreciable use for it outside of giving him an alternative to spotdodging. I guess he could jump up and prevent aerial approaches faster that way. I'll go ahead and add it.

you didn't try tipper apparently

you can tipper Fsmash like 4 times using this correctly and them let them go because of the increased hitlag (I think its what it is called)

LIGHTNING KICKS!

It wouldn't work because Zelda has to be airborne, but it might allow you to follow up with a smash or something. Same with Falcon and the knee.
