People stress over it because of the emphasis that others put on its importance.

"If you don't do good Dan, you won't go into a good college."

"If you do bad, you're going to end up like your deadbeat [insert family member here]."

Dan you don't want to be the loser of the class who doesn't go to college do you? You have to do well!

Dan, your future depends on it! You want to have a good future, right?

Even though the math section of the test is stupidly easy, I must admit that the reading section is ****ing stupid.

I have never responded to that kind of pressure from others. I have however failed alot of classes because of the "this class is below me" kind of mentality. I was that kid that got a C-B average because I got near perfect scores on tests but never did any homework.

I had Xbox Live to blame for that though. I never studied or did homework because of how addicting that was.

I'm making up for it in college though at least. Now I'm always aiming for top in the class, and I can barely settle for a B. This is what's consuming me now.

Can I buy some of your dedication from you? lol

After I got out of highschool I decided I didn't want to go to college just yet (partly because of money issues, partly because I was just tired of it all). So I got a job and started saving up cash. I have close to 3k saved up and I will be joining the air force once winter is over. (bootcamp in the freezing cold would suck).

So I won't be part of the college life style any time soon.

I don't play Melee competitively (as of now anyways, I might start at some nebulous distant point in the future) and only see their boards because I camp the New Posts button, but from what I understand at least Mute City should be legal, it was banned because it was too strong a CP for Peach who isn't even Top 5. It's like banning Pipes for Olimar. (It's pretty similar to PTAD, with somewhat more-pervasive hazards though the cars are less powerful.)
Mute City is a strong counter-pick for jigglypuff as well apparently. The cars are way more intrusive than the PTAD ones, sometimes there's no safe-zone from them (on the ground), and sometimes they hit you on the main platform.
But it's not even as strong a counter-pick as brinstar which is generally legal....lol.

I was that kid that got a C-B average because I got near perfect scores on tests but never did any homework.
lolsame, except I finish my homework in class so I still get mostly A's :bee:

Though I'm going into IB this year, apparently the workload is really high >.>

All my friends that took full IB got drowned in highly tedious assignments. I was a mix of IB/AP. Generally speaking AP was harder test wise but IB was heavier in work load. I did poorly in most of my IB classes so I switched over to mostly AP or honors if I didn't want to try.

See that's the ***** of it, the so called "Advanced" courses that 99% of schools have set up actually have nothing to do with genuine intelligence.

At best, they're a blurry, unquantifiable marker of how much free time and dedication to a dying system any given student has or is forced into by their parents/friends/counselor/etc.

These courses and curricula allegedly planned for the above average student are nothing more than futile exercises in pointless busywork, orchestrated by incompetent schmucks who have been misguided into believing that wasting even more of your time in an arbitrary hellhole somehow qualifies you as an overall smarter person.

But I'm ranting now.

Also, FD is the best stage

FD's fair and even playing field helped me go straight edge and kick my problems with drug and alcohol abuse!

It's flat, helps to have an even, fair fight without random interruptions and giving my opponents lucky wins.

FD doesn't have any pesky platforms to mess with the natural balance of the game, and thus lets characters compete with their natural attributes, with no interference from the stage.

10 minutes is awesome, extra 2 minutes for my opponent to hopelessly try to catch me.

Gah, someone really needs to go over there and start timing them out with Ice Climbers.

Are they even beatable with an air time timeout condition?

You try to camp them they win because you're in the air too much >.>

You approach and you'll probably get grabbed more often than not.

I just got B-C's as a student because I really didn't care that much about school, lol.

Where's the [Like] button when I want to hit it?
TTP are amazing, I just discovered it in the Mexican forum lol
I HATE the "Mexican ruleset" $%#&@$!!! Now the world will see us like a bunch of ******** players thanks to those ********
Thanks! We at least spend some time reading and learning everything about the game, not like almost every other Mexi-player does
You are cool too!!! :bee:

So it just snowed in my area and its cold outside and I have not been wanting to leave the house for non mandatory reasons/friends. I wake up this morning and notice I have not shaved in 2 days and I am looking scruffy. I go to the bathroom and I notice I no longer have any razor blades. So I sit down and think about how to get myself clean looking without having to go to the cvs which is a 25 minute walk.

First option was using my pocket knife I sharpen religiously. I figured it would work well but it can cut skin using hardly more force than you output when typing. So fearing I would slit my throat I thought of new options and came up with the idea to use the lighter sitting next to my computer.

One bathroom, 20 minutes, and the scent of of burning hair, later and I now have a semi decent shave (if you can still call it that). The "shave" was not super close but its mostly even and the hair is now a different color form the tips being burnt. All in all a successful morning.

Anything new with you guys?

I'm going on a small roadtrip today (3 hours) so that my band can play at a show on the western side of Puerto Rico. We're only known in the metropolitan area here, so us going there would widen our fanbase. Also, we're getting paid $100 for the show + open bar, so things are only getting better (this is our first time getting paid for a show). The only down-side to this is that I'm gonna have a mountain of work to attend to when I come back. =/

I'm in class right now, waiting for it to be over so I can finally go, but this class is taking forever! The only reason why I even took the time to write this ON MY PHONE was to pass the time.

I play bass.

Our genre is experimental rock. We don't really have a set genre, but our influences are Led Zeppelin, The Mars Volta, Carlos Santana, Pink Floyd, and random blues/jazz artists.

Oh, and we sing in both English and Spanish.

The same blues artists that influenced led zeppelin (muddy waters/delta blues of the 20-30's)? If you have any of your music uploaded or available for download I wouldn't mind listening to it
